I don't really watch airing shows though, so I just wait while watching others.
( AngelBeats is too awesome!)
This might sound kinda weird, but I had never really talked to anyone from Singapore before joining MFC, and I'm really impressed by how well most people who live there speak English. I actually didn't even notice you or some of the other Singaporeans who host box splits on MFC often were actually not native English speakers until I realized I would have to pay for international shipping, haha. It's just cool to me because Chinese seems so complicated from my point of view, and yet you can speak my language flawlessly!
But on the subject of otome games, I have noticed people tend to stick to studios and focus less on the individual games. I think right now the biggest hurdle for me to get into visual novels in general are finding versions of the games that will work on my computer AND are also being translated. I had a lot of difficulty at first when I was trying to play Little Busters and Fate/stay night because the games just wouldn't install correctly, like there were missing files even though I had downloaded the same torrent someone who got the game to work did!
I agree that Shinsekai Yori is really daunting. I really don't get everything that's happening right now, but I think that might what they're going for, since it is from the perspective of some kids. Maybe they're telling the story through the kids and less through narrative or whatever, so we're supposed to feel as lost and confused as they are.
I haven't finished KoiChoco and Imouto yet, so I only went off my initial impressions of the characters I said I'd take, so I may end up wanting one or two more by time you get your new splits up!
I totally agree with you on Magi and K. I was thinking K had the potential to be good because I kinda liked the nearly dialogue-less first episode, because it was different, but after these last few... not so much. I thought it was just weird how it turned comedic. I mean, I laughed a few times, but it was a really weird way to pace it. Magi definiteeely comes off like a kids show, yeah. I'm intrigued by the whole Arabic setting, but it doesn't seem to have much substance underneath it all.
Woo, long comments~!
It is very apparent I don't have really anyone to talk about anime with, right?! :x
edit: And I forgot to mention, but it is cool you're a music student! Unfortunately I'm not in school right now, but I'd actually like to study Psychology and possibly become a professor. :) Just so you know a bit about me personally.
I definitely will drop you a PM or a comment if I ever wanna gush about something next! Right now, I'm really impressed by Psycho Pass's plot and world builiding. There's like all this stuff I don't understand yet, but I feel like they're making it accessible enough through every episode so you're not totally lost. I'm glad we seem to have some pretty similar interests when it comes to anime though, because that means if we ever wanna host a group order/box split, we can always ask each other first and maybe get some of the slots already taken care of or something! That's neat. :D

Oh, and I totally know what you mean when it comes to guys and anime, lol. That's the reason I wasn't really reaching out to talk to anyone, because it always seems to be a discussion about how cute/hot/pretty some character is and less about the stories, although I do get that vibe kinda with male heavy shows, like Magi and K. It's a little more bearable then though because at least girls don't get overly perverted about it?! Occasionally... there are definitely perv-y girls though, haha!
Jormungand gets starts off kinda slow, honestly. It was the last 5-6 episodes that made me really start enjoying the series. I really like the main character, Koko, and the art style is cool and the animation is really good, I think. Has some pretty good music too! :)
I'm glad I have someone to talk to anime with kinda now! Before I joined MFC a few months ago I was pretty much on my own and I'm not really outgoing enough to join in episodic discussion on this site, so yay!
I think my favorites this season are going to be Shinsekai Yori and Psycho Pass, but I still really like Chuunibyou, the second season of Jormungand, Sukitte Ii na yo, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, Kamisama Kiss, and Wooser too. I need to see a bit more of Code:Breaker, Robotics;Notes, Zetsuen no Tempest, and Btooom! to know if I'm going to like them. Then there's a few shows I'm watching just because I think the characters are cute, lol... Magi, K, and Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo.
I'm surprised at how much I'm actually watching this season. I tend to stick to 4 or 5, but this time I'm pretty much watching everything... eep!
How about you? :) Which ones are you enjoying the most?
