For me, it was gratuitously sexual and gross. You have your child groomer, your horny teenager eager to be groomed, and your wild-child female supporting character that's there for groping. The main storyline gets really pretty easily lost in all the extraneous shock factor theatrics that get thrown in. There's interesting people and motivations here; I just can't get past how disgusted I was by some of these scenes, and enough of the remaining scenes were boring enough that I just can't really bring myself to care about the goals of any of these characters.

Bleach is the best of the big three. Watching this in 2023 made me nostalgic for the early 2000s weekly anime format. So much filler though which I ultimately skipped most of. Bounts arcs was the worst thing I have been put through in a while. Fullbring was equally bad. I just pretend those don't exist. Cool art design for all the characters.
This is definitely a shounen of it's time. We all know who the main character is because he's "super amazing" and pulls wins out of his butt. I was disappointed a few times by storylines not panning or things seemingly get obstructed ...

This manga has first and foremost always been a fun read for me. There are elements of the series that I take issue but with at the end of the day, all I care about is that it keeps me entertained. Time travel is an integral part of this series but I don't consider Tokyo Revengers to be *about* time travel in the way that Stein's Gate (and others like it) is. This is the first time I've ever rated an anime 10/10 and I truly believe this deserves it. It accomplished what other animes seem to find next to impossible to accomplish: concise story with no filler but paced in a way that doesn't feel rushed; no gratuitous nudity or perviness - there's a ton of nudity but it never feels out of place or like it's taking away from the story. Rather it feels like it makes sense for it to be there when it is ; the romance is not gag-inducing sell-out scenes for horny teenage boys but feels both genuine to the characters

This review comes from the perspective of someone who is not a Dragon Ball fan and has not watched much of the Dragon Ball franchise since it aired on TV as a child.
This movie is a very fun and comprehensible even to someone who doesn't have much background with the franchise. I felt like they did a good amount of exposition to help set the scene for new viewers without being overly annoying for familiar viewers (says my companions). JJK the anime series is one of the best modern animes out there point blank. I wish this movie could have carried the same presence but it fell flat for me. From the get-go, the pacing feels off. The character reactions were overblown and it felt like they were throwing in reactions and "inspirational scenes" (that normally would be in a multi-episode arc climax) every 20-30 minutes. They have a flashback of a scene that happened 10 minutes previously in the movie which was super redundant. If you like dark animes that have the pretense of being lighthearted, this definitely fits that category. It not super in-your-face gory but it does present some gory themes and actions that can be hard to watch. One thing I liked a lot about this anime is that it is fast-paced and you're surprised how far they've gotten by the end of the first season. One thing I don't like about this anime is the weird sexual overtones.
