Preliminary review

I don't understand what's so nice about this manga that it got into the rankings for top manga or something. Firstly, the 'horror elements' aren't even that scary. One part of it is super cliche. Or maybe it's because i only read the first few chapters.

Secondly, the characters are boring, i can't even tell that there is romance. Even the 'horror element' character is boring. ALSO, the suspense is boring. Again, maybe it's because i only read the first few chapters. perhaps it gets really good later on.

The art is not bad though.

I don't recommend this but neither do i discourage people ... from reading this. (Mixed feelings)

edit: a reader told me that it "really starts to get good" at chapter 6, but I even tried to continue to 7 and it is so boring i'm sorry i can't like it at all..

imagine thanking your friend for committing genocide uwu tysm for being a monster for us babe... that is literally what happened in the ending, and whatever 'good' plot this manga had previously is wiped out by the sheer terribleness of the ending. for example, apart from that, a slave girl started loving her literal rapist + owner + murderer (kinda) and got closure from another girl's shitty excuse of a romance. ah... I'm sorry... maybe this other girl's romance isn't that bad, but because this ending was so bad, i couldn't feel anything for the romance. SPOILER yeah it's freaking mikasa. it sucks.

Art ... 5: it used to be 3 or 4, but it slowly improved so I would say it deserves a 5


Character 2: absolutely dreadful closure for the characters in the ending, all the character development seems to have vanished. Armin's character development was tossed in the toilet bowl when he said that stupid crap in 139. not very sure about his 'smart plan' to save humanity though, maybe he deserves more credit for that but the 'hehe friendship' shit was so freaking bad. man. Apart from him, mikasa is clingy to the end. she COULD have had better character development, but she DIDN'T. and eren... i think his character development went backwards as well, as the readers realised that he didn't know what the hell he was doing. (let's not forget the GENOCIDE) The main trio hence deserves a whopping 0 for character, but the 2 i put was for all the other survey corps members who died for such a shitty plot. oh and of course my favourite babies jean sasha connie, who did NOT get the character development they deserved. i think i wanted to see jean as a leader or something.



Enjoyment 1: SPOILER AGAIN i didn't enjoy my favourites being alive at the end because the ending was so bad. actually when they were alive again they seemed to be genocide sympathisers. anyway, actually, i have never truly enjoyed attack on titan but that's just me. i was just a fan of jean sasha connie and i wanted to know how the story ends, and i never loved the plot that much. but yeah enough of me, as you can see from my ranting about character development, i did not enjoy this manga at all. the 1 point is for jean sasha connie moments <3


overall: sum divided by 4. Thanks for reading, and i hope you enjoy the manga/anime more than me. i'm not sure if i recommend the anime more than the manga because i heard that they cut some parts from the manga? which sucks. but then the anime has a lot of hype! i also hope this review was kind of useful, because at the end, i felt like the ending was not just encouraging romance between a rapist slave-owner murderer and his slave, but also glorifying (or glossing over) genocide. this is why i cannot trust people who liked the ending....


EDIT: I read the bonus pages (does it count as chapter 139? why is the total suddenly 141) and I don't really care about jeankasa being canon after the way mikasa pined for eren in like literally 4 pages earlier or something smh my head... embarrassing.

Almost every aspect was poor (3) for me. Let me elaborate. Please bear in mind that i kind of forgot a lot of things about this manga because i didn't like it so much, and that this is my own opinion so you shouldn't be err attacking me for it.

Story: i was very unimpressed with all arcs. let's just say all i remember is explosions. my favourite part in the story was reigen's character development (somewhere near the ending)

Art (4): obviously not the best art ever, i'm not going to trick myself into saying that the art is mediocre because a lot ... of manga have better art i believe

Character: i see that the ending was supposed to be character development for mob, but the problem is that i didn't feel like it was very interesting. exploding everything and crying? that's about it? i suppose reigen is an interesting character for helping mob out in the ending (i remember his dramatic part because i liked it), but bear in mind that this manga has other characters too... in the end, isn't everyone else kind of... unneeded? maybe i should reread the manga but this is what i remembered.

Enjoyment: i don't remember laughing a lot for the comedic parts with ekubo. even worse, i was looking forward to mob's character development but it just didn't suit my tastes in the end. i read every chapter as it got published so maybe the wait for it made me forget details? anyway, i do not remember enjoying the ending as well...

I think I had expectations that were too high, but i believe some may enjoy the read as seen from the other 10/10 reviews. if you really want to start MP100, i actually want to recommend watching the anime instead because the animations and sound are really cool. like... perhaps... award-winning cool.

I am very offended at *redacted*, so i will write a review for this manga. i don't want to write this as a preliminary review because i know how it ends. the ending was a disappointment, but perhaps i didn't appreciate it enough. but to me, the plot is basically one big circle. convoluted, and nothing useful came out of it. (i could be wrong, since i skipped through some chapters)

Let me explain myself more. You have a trio of the most important characters who have very strong plot armour. I failed to feel anything for them. they're funny, but that's about ... it? i know their friendship is good and whatever but I honestly wanted gintoki and kagura and shinpachi... ANYONE to die in the end. that's how much i didn't care about them. spoiler: the author said yes, i too want someone to die, and chose to kill off one of the big antagonists (who has been evil since forever) who suddenly becomes good in the end?? like ok. cliche, but that's not too bad... at least he died right? NO. he gets revived as a damn baby. WHY?? HOW??? i don't know because the author just left us with that.

and the last battle with the greatest boss of all time was so boring. was it not something like heehee friendship heehee? might as well keep writing the comedy skits and not fight. sorry. i am just offended. (don't send me hate, this is just MY OPINION) hence... i rate the story as poor.

however... the whole manga had enjoyable side characters like the shinsengumi (who had a lot of drama that i enjoyed.) i also cried for a particular old man in jail. loved these side characters way more than the main trio (do you see why i hate the ending now?) i think literally anyone else was more interesting than the main trio but again, i could be biased. the ending focused on the main trio and i was just really annoyed with them at that point since i have been following the series for so many years. -4 for characters.


art 7: not too bad, i liked how it improved with time i guess. but it's not super special or artsy or anything, so i'm not giving it full marks.


enjoyment 3: because i am so offended, all the past nice memories of gintama have been discarded and all i feel is anger at the ending. very biased but enjoyment is subjective :p but remember that the side characters are actually good! enjoy them while you can...

overall: sum divided by 4

Story 3: this whole plot is about suicide, so beware. i thought Mariko's backstory was tragic but the whole plot seems to be about how tragic it was so i got really bored. my brain was moaning. the main character is mariko's best friend who goes on a bizarre adventure of sorts but it was kind of boring and cliche(but this could be a biased view)

Art 10: i like the artstyle, it's very unique and gave me more enjoyment while reading it.

Character 4: affected by the story. the main character is kind of likeable but again, this whole plot is about suicide and ... tragicness so the characters don't really develop.... but judging the characters by how interesting they are, they're decent characters. they're interesting, but only because of how sad they are. (??)

Enjoyment 7: i think my enjoyment was mostly boosted by the art. and actually the ending was kind of sweet.... remember that suicide is not the answer. (i hope others who read this manga know that. if not, this manga addresses that in a very cliche and unrealistic way. spoiler: someone runs over to stop someone from jumping)
