Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 is a direct sequel to the events of the first series, and it manages to up the stakes considerably throughout its 25 episodes, an impressive feat given the dramatic end to the first series.

Does this make R2 better than the first series? Not necessarily, but it does certainly make for a more enjoyable viewing experience. The battles are slightly less frequent in this season, but when they do happen, they are far more intense and the outcome is less predictable.

Several new characters also make an appearance, and without spoiling anything, the new additions end up being some ... of the most important in the entire series and help determine the outcome of the story. In other words, most of them aren't just there for the sake of it, with a few exceptions.

Overall, if you loved the action, story and characters of the first season, you will not be let down by R2, as it builds on from the first season excellently and provides a satisfying ending that shouldn't be missed.

A fantastic mecha anime with a deep plot and complex characters.

The anime follows the character Lelouch, a student living in occupied Japan that is under the control of the powerful and ruthless Britannian Empire.

One of the things that sets this apart from other similar anime is the power that Lelouch possesses, as he is given the power of the Geass by a mysterious woman that allows him to command others to do whatever he wants. This power is central to the plot of the series and part of what makes it great is seeing this power slowly begin to completely transform Lelouch's life, for ... both better and worse.

Whilst this series is plot heavy at times, it also contains many excellent action scenes that prevent it from ever becoming a bore to watch, and many of these action scenes feel unique and different from one another.

What could make or break this show for people would have to be the characters though, as there are many annoying or just uninteresting characters alongside the main cast (which is excellent for the most part). If you can put up with these characters, then you will probably have a good time with Code Geass, especially if you are a fan of Mecha anime or just Sci-Fi in general.

Overall, the first season of Code Geass was great and I look forward to seeing how Lelouch's journey continues in the second season.

I had first heard about Demon Slayer a couple of years ago, but only got around to watching it recently, and let me say that wow, this really is up there with the greatest shounen anime in recent years.

Firstly, the visuals are fantastic, with a lot of vibrant colours and some stunning backdrops. This anime also has CGI that is very well done most of the time, fitting the art style of the rest of the show perfectly and making some fight scenes truly great to watch.

Speaking of the fight scenes, they are mostly great, with most of the fights feeling very different from each ... other, and this helps to ensure that they don't become stale as the anime progresses.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie is a great addition to the series, with an enjoyable, self contained plot, that allows this film to be watched entirely separately from the original anime. I personally saw this film after finishing the anime, which some do not recommend but I found that it didn't impact my enjoyment of the film at all.

Spike, Jet, Faye and Ed are all as great here as they always have been, with their VAs doing an excellent job in both the Japanese original and English dub. Several new characters also make an appearance in this film, and while I won't talk about specific ... characters as to not spoil anything, I will say that they all fit well within the story and had interesting motivations, particularly the main villain.

What really made this film stand out for me was the stunningly beautiful animation. Each scene was highly detailed and unique, making this film have some of the best animation in the whole series.

The OST for this film was also good, with a new opening theme and a lot of other tracks that were not present in the original series, but some previously heard tracks did also make a return which was good to see.

Overall, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie is a great film for fans of the series, but also a good movie in its own right that puts it among some of the best anime films from the time it was released.

If you found part 1 of Season 2 boring, I would recommend sticking around for part 2 because it is much better overall.

One of the main complaints I have seen is that the Sanctuary arc took too long, and I agree with this criticism. Many of the episodes in part 1 to this season felt quite unnecessary and weren't that interesting to watch.

That being said, I felt that part 2 didn't really have this issue. Each episode felt like it served a purpose and wasn't just filler, with the plot always moving forward and a huge amount of character development for the main characters, ... as well as giving side characters like Otto and Garfiel more involved roles within the main plot.

For an anime that was first released over a century ago, only a couple of months before America entered the first world war, it really isn't that bad.

The story has a very basic premise, but stop reading if you want to watch it because I'm about to spoil the entire thing.

It starts with a not so bright individual buying a sword from a merchant after playing around with it for a bit. The man with his newly acquired sword then decides that his best course of action would be to attack a random stranger on his way home using his new sword. This obviously ... does not go to plan, and the man gets his ass handed to him, and in a shocking turn of events, accidentally bends the sword when he tries to use it to pull himself up.

10/10- cinematic masterpiece, brought a tear to my eyes.

Let me first start this review by saying that I am not well acquainted with the Isekai genre. I've heard good things about multiple shows from the genre, but this is my first time actually watching one.

With that being said, Re:Zero gave me a great first impression for the genre as a whole. Within the first episode, you are drawn into an intriguing plot where the protagonist, Natsuki Subaru is able to return from the dead, not too dissimilar from manga such as All You Need is Kill.

After being killed multiple times, it is great seeing Subaru learn from each experience and use this ... knowledge to gain an advantage over his foes and further his relationships with other characters. This same theme continues throughout the rest of the season, and while it can get a bit repetitive at times, it managed to stay fresh enough for me to enjoy it.

For the most part, the animation was pretty good in this season, with some nice looking environments, though facial animations did look a bit stiff on some of the characters, and the CGI was quite rough at times.

Re:Zero also has a pretty solid OST, with two great OPs and EDs. Much of the other music in this anime was also good.'

Overall, the first season of Re:Zero was very enjoyable for a newcomer to the Isekai genre like myself, and I am looking forward to watching the OVAs and second season.

When you see Monster ranked among the top Seinen anime of all time, just know that there's a very good reason for that.

Monster is an anime that starts off quite slow, but it is worth staying with it because the narrative here is truly fantastic and should not be missed out on.

What makes Monster truly special is its main antagonist, Johan Liebert. A mysterious man capable of truly evil things, but with such a calm and calculated demeanor that really makes him stand out from the vast majority of anime villains. The protagonist, Dr. Tenma, serves as an opposite to Johan, believing that all ... lives are equal and doing everything in his power to do what he believes to be the right thing.

As the mystery surrounding Johan begins to unravel, we are introduced to many excellent side-characters and intriguing sub-plots that compliment the main plot incredibly well, with some truly emotional and unforgettable scenes.

This is all complimented with art that is often absolutely stunning, with much attention to detail present in each scene that really makes each of the settings feel real, and sells the grounded and realistic story that Monster is telling.

The sound should also be mentioned when talking about Monster. The OP was chilling and fits perfectly with the overall vibe of the show and this is also true for the first ending song which was haunting, but also beautiful. The rest of the OST had some great music too, particularly the music that plays in the quieter scenes of the show.

Overall, Monster is an excellent anime, and I hope reading this review has convinced you to give it a chance because it really is something special.

Memories is an anime made from a collection of 3 short stories. Each episode was directed by a different director and are great in their own ways.

The first episode, Magnetic Rose takes place in an abandoned ship owned by a former opera singer. This episode has fantastic visuals, a good premise and some interesting characters. 8/10.

The second episode, Stink Bomb is far more comedic in tone to the first episode, following a clumsy lab worker who unknowingly consumes a chemical weapon that causes people around him to drop dead. This episode does not take itself seriously and has some genuinely funny scenes. Once again, the ... animation is top notch here, and it was the episode I liked the most. 9/10

The third and final episode, Cannon Fodder, tells the story of a family living in a highly militaristic dystopian society, where the primary function of most citizens is to produce and fire cannon shells towards an enemy. The story in this episode was the most interesting out of the bunch, and I found the characters to be quite interesting too. 8/10.

Overall, Memories is an underrated gem of an anime, and I highly recommend it.

I don't really know how to sum up Elfen Lied other than saying it was wasted potential.

The first 10 minutes of the anime were truly scary and a new viewer would be fooled into thinking that this pace would continue throughout the entire show.

However, the show never reaches this same peak again. It has its moments, but the majority of the show just never kept me engaged. This along with the weird subplots involving incest and the overt sexualisation of minors made this show very uncomfortable at times and not very enjoyable to watch.

As I've said, Elfen Lied does have some great parts to it, with a beautiful opening song, some really nice animation and genuinely emotional scenes that got me somewhat invested in the characters. The overarching plot was also interesting, but as with most of the things in the show, it misses the mark a lot of the time.


Overall, Elfen Lied is not a bad anime, it just leaves a lot to be desired and could have been so much more. That being said, if you are looking for something to watch and want to try something new, you should consider giving it a shot.
