I will keep it short and straightforward. It starts off with a pretty standard and ok premise which made me actually go on to continue to watch this show. BUT, later on, it becomes an absolute clusterf*ck. What I think is the biggest problem is that the show tries to make some game of thrones intrigue plays which doesn't work at all. The characters make some overcomplicated plots just for the sake of the "aha I knew it all" moment which doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
Additionally, I have to say that worldbuilding is not only purely lacking but not present at all.

So, a lot of people in the reviews are crying around about the bad ending, so I had to add my ingredients to the soup. First of all just because you don't like how a story ends story-wise doesn't necessarily mean that it's badly written, it just means that you would've wanted another ending even though it might have not made a lot of sense story-wise. In short, the ending was pretty foreseeable halfway through the series and yes, I was one of those people but I had to agree that it made sense how it ended.

In short, it is a really f*cked up story but the stupid actions of the characters never made more sense even though I hated what they did. Therefore I gave the characters a 10/10 because even the char development was surprisingly good.
The story including the many plot twists, were so over dramatised that sometimes it just got ridiculous and even though you personally get involved by getting angry on the different characters for what they are doing, you just stop caring at some point (for me ch 7) because the plot twists and drama just become worser and worse. First of all let me add some genre tags:
Adventure, Action, Western Steampunk Cars and Historical are rather optional. This anime was the surprise of the season for me, I went in with 0 expectations since Cars isn't necessarely the thing I like but it was amazing. In my opinion the focus is not on cars but more the engineering side of view it could've been a airplane or ship race. In any case I absolutely loved it, as someone who loves decent adventure storys and not, "I'm overpowerd af and have no problems" "adventures", this was like finding gold. If you didn't read the manga: Score 3 The story per se is pretty standard isekai with op MC so something good to chillout a bit between two monster anime with 50+ episodes ;) Well the story is an absolute flustercuck it's like going through a story based game and spamming the skip button on every cutscene, so hard that even the game doesn't know what the content of the story is. It is overall a very damn good detective (hope I spelled that one right) story. They got some new ideas and mixed them with some already present mystery/psycological shows.
All in all I really enjoyed the show but I had one big issue during the show. It was obvious starting from the 2. or 3. episode who the main culprit was and that with the knowledge that the cops had. So it was just a lets wait till they find it out even though it should have been obvious for a detective with super deduction skills.
