If you want to see which anime are subbed, then you should look at:
a) the producer's list (left side of the entry). If one of the companies has a little L beside it, it means the series is licensed
b) the fansub group data (bottom right of the entry). This will tell you if a group has subbed it.

I don't see a purpose in removing anime or reviews that you can't find on the internet. That's not the goal of our database.

I do have some bad experiences with MAL staff too few months ago. From that, I conclude that the MAL staff are not good at explaining something. I do not know if this caused by their lack of that kind of skill or their laziness. And just like what you have experienced, they sometimes do something without even explaining why. It's like they have the full authority to do everything without question.
You do not have to quit MAL, but if you think this is the right thing to do, please.

1. From what I understand, the 2011 one is a reboot/remake. It is neither sequel nor prequel.

That is too bad. How about these:

Persona 4 the Animation(slice of life with mystery, supernatural, & school theme). It has 25 episodes(1 season).

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou(rom-com with drama & school theme). It has 24 episodes(1 season).

Haganai series(romance-harem with school theme). It has 25 episodes(2 seasons+1 OVA)

Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea(romance with drama, fantasy, & school theme). It has 26 episodes(1 season).

Steins;Gate(mystery with drama, harem, & sci-fi). It has 24 episodes(1 season).

And by the way, I suggest you update your anime list right away. Because I do not know you have dropped Haruhi Suzumiya, Spice and Wolf, etc.
