and onto the hentai talk, let's go: Do you prefer to watch or to read hentai? I'm more of a reading man myself, yup, yup! First of all, there's way more stuff to read than to watch (i think i actually dont know if this is fact) and second of all, the art is way better (which is obvious lol). I prefer KanColle girls over other stuff, but really, any cutegirl works.

I don't manage the MAL database at all, sorry! SNS mods manage the social media pages such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

Here's what I was able to find out from the rules regarding character default pictures and requesting changes.
225x350 pixel dimensions pictures preferred.
No visual novel or game images, unless no anime or manga images are available.
No fanart.
No screenshots, unless they have been cropped to fit the above dimensions or no other image is available.
No vectors or fan colourings, unless no other image is available. Minor edits such as cropping and extracting are fine.
No nudity. Censored images are allowed, but will be removed if an uncensored image becomes available.
Default pictures: These images are chosen based on quality, which includes (but is not limited to): colouring, sharpness, contrast, brightness, positioning and size. These will be chosen at the discretion of moderators. While you are welcome to request a change, this is a request; please do not always expect it to be approved. Complaining over a picture will result in your requests and posts being ignored.

As long as you stick with those rules, you're free to request a change. But as the rules said, it all comes down to moderator discretion, so it might not be approved to be the new default.
