Yeah how something felt might be a good way to sum it up into a score, since its the overall feeling not scoring individual qualities which everyone does. I feel its become pretty much the standard that many ppl score an anime's story and animation, then average that out to the final score, and some ppl throw in enjoyment as an extra quality. And yes lol, my scores are all wrong by my current standard so I am gonna redo them sometime and maybe the tags..

Ah wow you've know about JP waaay longer than me. Stuff like 12 rules probably won't improve a persons life much, like sticking your chest out or cleaning your room, improving life imo is like improving health, it takes drastic changes and repetition since drastic changes and repetition ruined it (probably). Per my example, Americans have massive weight problems, and they say shit like "I started walking 15 minutes a day to lose weight", they say this ALL the time dude I hear it all the fucking time, its so delusional, because that 15 minute walk isnt going to make a difference lol especially with the terrible diet loaded with sugar and carbs. So life is the same, big changes needed. Anyways what I like JP's constant analysis and explanation of people's motivations and life experiences. I'm very interested in people's motivations and life stories lol, idk why. And instead of 12 rules I would suggest 12 things you should NEVER do I think that would help ppl better

I've been hearing ppl all over say things were better under kings and emperors due to them being "accountable" as they put it, perhaps in 2000 years they will look back on these times fondly when they are ruled by a heartless AI computer making decisions for them lmao

btw you played the new Guilty Gear or seen any really good anime in the last couple years? Honestly Shiki and Shigurui are the two that come to mind for me that really got to me in the last few years. That poor girl in Shiki who wanted to go to the city and those fucking OVAs, devastating lol. Fucking A+ writing!!!

Yes Shiki I rewatch a lot and I am starting to make me question the rating system we have everywhere, it works for movies which are short, but I don't think it can be applied to anime series... anyways Shiki I used to think it was 8-9 but the end experience is a 10 for me, which is the most important thing and what matters and what I will most likely remember, so perhaps the more fair rating is actually a 10. However some anime have ups and downs throughout so maybe, thinking about it deeper, the overall rating should be based on the high points of the anime because that's the point of watching them imo. And then on the side, things like animation and such need to be rated separately.

I'd also prefer to know what anime has the highest points haha instead of just the overall ratings

Those Shiki OVAs and that soundtrack too were amazing, haunting and stays with you! Also I like the imagery, certain scenes get burned in your head.

the story is beyond fucked up and well written, animation is crazy unique, and the story will probably fuck with you as it did with me but in the end its so interesting and unpredictable!! It leaves me depressed by impressed, and I've rewatched it many times.

I see you've seen Shiki, fucking great series, I would give the last 1/3 of the anime a 10/10 but the first 2/3 was a bit slow and drawn out so I didn't give it more than a 8 or 9 maybe... Red Garden and Higashi no Eden might be other series you'd like not the same as Shiki but the same mystery unraveling style. And of course Bikini Warriors for RPG/MMO goofy fun lol

Also I told you about this a long long time ago, we worked on a Final Fantasy 6 rap back in like 2009! But the track was lost.. I found some old recordings I forgot I even took of it however. You can hear the Magitek Factory track which my friend remixed as a beat and at 35 seconds you can hear him doing a record scratch effect with Kefka's laugh (my idea, ha!). That part was extremely sick. The video and sound quality is poor due to an old camera phone sadly.. it was an awesome track too lol but lost forever

Also I think this anime would REALLY interest you and be worth it (unlike most anime which is average imo). The first 2/3 of Shiki is a lot of build up but the last 1/3 is extremely intense and pays off. Incredible story about people. I think you could appreciate the story based on our discussions, and also the emotional impact is very powerful.

Random FF6 appreciation fact:

FF6 gets summons right. In the other games, they are way too powerful, or awkward, or limited to one character. I didn't feel any Esper in FF6 was OP and the system makes managing them important and truly makes a summon feel valuable. They probably didn't get good feedback on this system tho. Some espers are meh, but the time with them is short so it's not annoying. If some Espers were patched to be a bit stronger they would have had a PERFECT summon system!
