I've never watched JJK but I've head good things, just not sure if I'm ready to pick up a really long shounen (right?) series. What's sakamoto days about? I don't think I've heard of it before.

I would definitely say that "Tower of God" is worth reading as it has a lot more content than shown in the anime. Also, it's my favorite manhwa so I'd recommend it either way if you ask me.
The only question is whether you would like it, since I don't know the reasons why you stopped reading it, I can't say much about it.
But I would still recommend it, even if some parts take a little long, in my opinion it is worth it.
Just keep in mind that there are over 550 chapters, which is a bit much if you're not used to reading manga and tend to watch anime, as it might take a few hours to read, but it's more accurate and shows details that don't exist in the anime.
