I've been having a shit time recently. I traveled to India for my book launch, and my city was flooded, so I couldn't go to the book launch because the airport was shut down. And then I fell realllllllyyyyy sick, and the travel back was terribly uncomfortable. It was the worst trip of my life.
I also have so much to tell you! Let's PM each other soon! <3 I'm yet to read your poem and reply on FB. Sorry I'm taking so long. ;___;
H-h-huppey new year to you to senpai
Lol I know!! I just have so much to say with reviews . . .
I know what you mean about feeling like a robot. It’s easy to get into a pattern and just keep following it. Questions is, is that a bad thing if you like the pattern?
Anyways, what anime a you watching?
I started reading Seven Days. I don’t know if you’ve heard of that one, but someone told me it was yaoi. I don’t know if that’s true, but it is at least BL.
lolol XD I can understand that. Being too nice might be boring sometimes, but it probably causes you less grief. I still think I’d want a boyfriend with a good sense of humor.
I know. Rin is a really bad match for the introverted Haru, unlike Makoto <3
I’m so happy you have someone like that too. I think that type of relationship lasts longer than romantic ones. There is less pressure and expectations, so I think they are allowed to move and exist more naturally, generally speaking.
Aw, thanks for saying that Majo! I really appreciate it. I feel the same. You are a really caring and kind person. <3 My real name is Ariel. I don’t have a nickname.
Lololol I would never say that about someone because they liked an anime I hated. How rude. I, personally, didn’t like TG, but I can see how someone else would. And liking something I don’t like doesn’t make you stupid. I mean, how boring would the world be if everyone liked the same thing?
I agree! We can relate on a lot of things like learning Japanese, having a close sister-like friend, enjoying anime/manga (and BL <3), wanting to visit Japan, close to the same age, we both ship MakotoxHaru too. That’s very important, no? ;)
Oh, that’s cool. Where are you going? Do you know yet? I hope it’s exciting.
Hey! There’s another thing we both have: a long work schedule. :p Not sure we should celebrate that one, but I’m glad we both have jobs.
Yeah, it is very hard to self-study. I try to set an hour limit a day that I have to work on it for to keep me motivated. I’m one of those people who, if I have it on my list, then I must do it. Thanks <3 I really appreciate that. Though I’m sure you speak way better Japanese than I do. I don’t blame you at all for spacing out in class. I used to do that all the time . . . so easy to do . . .
I hate super weak male characters too. That's actually a huge issue I had with the Hunger Games (if you read it). Peeta is essentially useless to make Katniss look stronger. I don't understand why they both can't be awesome.
I only saw 4 episodes of SAO before I got bored, so I can't say there. And I haven't seen Black Lagoon (though, it does look interesting), but I do really like Akane. The girls from Fullmetal Alchemist, Attack on Titan, D. Gray Man, and others are also pretty cool. Some of the girls in Bleach are awesome too.
I'm glad you got the link! Enjoy reading them. I am so far. :)
I watch both. Usually I look up and see what people suggest or if the whole show got dubbed or not.
For me, prioritizing is anime, reading (novels and manga), and writing. I've heard of Mitch Albom and Paolo Coelho, but I haven't read any of their works. I have tons of pending books at home so I know the feeling.
Haha, I like the idea of limiting cliches. I'll make sure I don't add that one to my to watch list then. The worst thing is a story full of cliches you hate.
Sorry your friend's not that into anime :( At least you can come on here and talk about it then!
Aw, I’m sorry. I always try to make time for anime, at least one or two episodes a day, to help clear my mind from work. My schedule doesn’t really change too much now that I work, though, so it’s easy to fit in.
Haha that sounds nice. I do like gentleness more than “manliness”, but it’s sure hard to find. If that is how your boyfriend acts, he’s a keeper.
I just felt like Rin’s inability to follow in his father’s footsteps didn’t justify his behavior. And it didn’t help that the rest of the cast is so nice and sweet.
That’s what we’re hoping for! Without or without husbands and kids.
I’m glad you have a best friend like that. I’ve always had one and only in later years realized how lucky I was for that. Some people go through life without having someone they can rely on 100%. I never even had to look.
I wish I could help with that pain, but I know I can’t. If there is anything I can ever do, let me know and I’d be happy to help. Otherwise, I find your attitude regarding this (and the other things we discussed) lovely.
I’m glad you’ve found friends on here! I’ve met a lot of interesting people on here too/ Thankfully, I haven’t come across anyone mean yet.
Yes, her feet are more important than the trip, so we’ll see.
Oh, that sounds fun. Why are you going there for Christmas?
I know! Flying to Japan is so expensive . . .
I know self-study is hard, and I wish I could take a class but I work full-time, from about 8:00 in the morning until around 6:00 in the evening. Then I have an hour drive home every day. I couldn’t take a class even if I tried. But that is why I’ll push myself hard and study as much as I can alone. I’m sorry you missed the deadline, but you can keep studying and pass with ease in July!!
Alright, I'll send you the link. I think the light novels are pretty good. They're my first light novels though, so I don't have much to compare them too.
I agree that Japan has a bigger voice acting industry. When I first started watching anime, I only watched dubbed and now I have some favorite dubbed actors and some favorite Japanese ones so I watch both now. I personally find Japanese male voice actors have sexy voices, but some English guys do too, especially Liam O'Brein and Crispin Freeman.
I have no problems with Fanfiction, but I just don't have time to read or write it because I'm too busy writing my own characters and reading manga and published novels.
I haven't seen Akame ga kill, but I know what you mean by too many cliches. I read lots of fantasy literature, and some of them have so many cliches that it's impossible to really care because nothing is new, it's the same characters and plot you've seen before.
We do watch anime together, and we both wanted to start watching anime at the same time (got sick of live action TV shows) so it all worked out :)
So stupid they turned it down . . . but I still want to watch. Nezumi and Shion are opt <3.
I agree. Makoto is unrealistic, but that doesn’t stop me from hoping. Lol I think gentleness as a whole gets scorned by society, which is a pity. I think we ought to value it more. But, what can I do but value it myself?
On a side note, I’m glad your boyfriend is nice. ;)
I’m glad neither of us like Rin. So annoying. So that’s who Hirakawa is! Thanks for letting me know (and yes, I remember Rei!! I also ship him with Nagisa).
I’m sorry that happened, and I’m sure my sister and I will always remain on good if not great terms. We also joke that our husbands will have to learn to live together because we can’t imagine living in separate houses.
And yes, having real and honest friends beats having lots of temporary ones. Of course, relationships like that aren’t always easy and take more time and effort, but I think it’s worth it.
I’m sorry about your brother. That is very sad to hear. I can’t pretend I can relate to that feeling, but I’m glad you’ve found happiness despite that. And, of course, it will always make you sad. There is nothing wrong with that. But, there’s nothing wrong with living life to the fullest either. If anything, I’d take such a tragedy and let it motivate me to live, not compensate or settle.
I agree. I think it’s a diverse community that is generally friendly and open. Not always, but generally.
France may no happen now. My mother broke both of her feet, so we’re waiting to see if she can even walk then. We don’t know how she broke them, really. If feet have always been bad.
But I still plan on going to Japan!!
Well, saving it is better than wasting it, I suppose.
That sounds great! I def. need to study transportation kanji before going. Self-learning is hard, especially since I drive over an hour to and from work each day. I have almost no time for it. But I’m trying! I’m glad you get to take a class! I bet that really helps. I can write and read and I’ve studied, but I can’t speak it well. I listen okay, but speaking is my weakest point. I can’t form the sentence in my head.
Yeah, I read them on the Internet :) I can message you the link. It's not on the computer I'm on right now, but I could do it when I get home. I don't think anyone can have enough Shion and Nezumi.
I'm a fan of some voice actors too, but I watch English dub and Japanese subbed in English so I'm just learning the Japanese actors. I didn't know Kuroko was Mika and I watched both of those in Japanese so that's bad on me. Cool to know that. I agree that Owari isn't all the original, but still worth watching. Mika is my favorite, but I also liked Shiona and Guren too.
Haha, I guess it is up to me. It's my universe. I have a theory that I write because I'm a control freak and want to write my own stories when the ones I watch/read don't go the way I want them too.
I can forgive almost anything if I connect to the characters. I think interesting plots are always a plus, but I don't mind unoriginal plots as long as everything makes sense. Art can definitely improve something. I agree, just watch whatever suites you. I can never understand people that want to change someone elses opinion about linking one show over another.
I've watch some ecchi too. But it was pretty light ecchi so far. I can see myself obsessed with yaoi in the future and I'll blame you for it lol or thank you :)
My sister and I have a lot in common too. Our MAL compatibility is like 97% for anime and 93% for manga and we rate stuff pretty hard.
Sure, I shall do that ~ I don't know how to start conversation, damn xd
Well, how did you find Psycho Pass 2? I've heard it isn't good as first season.
And nice too met you, you can call me .. Spoon. How should I call you? o:
Truth be told, this isn't my main account. ;>
so don't get weirded out that my profile is so empty, lololol.
It does feel like a Shonen. Shion and Nezumi are one of my most hardcore ships at the moment. I haven't watched the anime yet, but the lightnovels are explaining the story perfectly. 11 episodes does seem a bit short given that there is 9 light novels so that's almost a whole episode per novel.
Mika was the only reason I finished Owari no Seraph and the Yuu x Mika ship. I'm going to have to read the manga too because I shipped it pretty hard. Have you finished it yet, there's some pretty hard shipping moments in the first season.
I'm glad you think that's clever. I think it's laziness but . . . It is fun to build on something that's already there and keep advancing it forward.
Characters are the most important thing for me. If I get attached to a character or a ship, then the other stuff doesn't matter nearly as much. Plot is probably next and as far as music/animation, as long as it isn't horrible I'm good. Though, really stunning animation can impressive me (like Mushishi, all Studio Ghibli, or Mononoke). But I'm glad you share the opinion of liking whatever you want and not hating something because it's popular. I think that's the best way to do.
I haven't seen any hentai. I might go yaoi one day, but I'm not really interested in hentai. It might be an experience though, like a curiosity since I've heard about it, obviously.
That's so cool that you made a close friend online! I'm glad you guys kept in touch. I don't really use facebook that much, but it is a good tool to connect with people.
