When I enjoy a series, I become very emotionally invested into the characters and story. I definitely prefer being able to binge-watch a show at my own pace, and am not a fan of catching weekly episodes. Very rarely, I try to also read the corresponding manga/novels to a series; but, I've never seen this to the end of one as of yet.
My ratings are based on some personal interests. The largest factors in how highly I rate an anime are its depth, its logical consistency, its type of influence, and the quality of its auditory/visual resources. Most importantly, how significant of an effect it had on me, and the lasting overall impressions it left with me. I've changed the way I sort out ratings a lot over time, so there isn't consistency between all of them. A low rating doesn't necessarily mean I didn't enjoy a show- it could have just contained plot holes which interfered with my immersion.
I am highly inclined towards watching English dubs. I don't disagree they are often comparatively lesser in quality, but I enjoy seeing that cultural difference when it is executed well, and there are times where I feel English VA's portrayed a character in a way I felt more connected to. It is significantly-so a more immersive experience to me. I respect the source content as it is, but my perceptions have been formed around the language and culture I grew up with, and being able to watch it under those tones paints a special picture for me.
My general order of preferred medium, from most to least, is anime, novel, then manga. I absolutely hate when anime is out of luck for a continuation or gets treated as a glorified advertisement for its respective source material. I understand anime is extremely expensive to produce, but I respect it highly as its own medium, and it's depressing to me that adaptation sequels often go out of the picture for the reasons they do. Having to pass on them out of not being able to work out the logistics must be a huge bummer. I understand it, and I get that there isn't really a choice sometimes, but; that doesn't change the fact it sucks! Part of the reason I don't like novels/manga as much is because I can't binge them the same without hurting my eyes. Well, oh well! There is still plenty of great content in the industry, and lots of valuable takeaway to have from it.
Do I have an opinion or rating that differs from yours? That's alright. Sorry if I gave a low rating to a show you enjoyed! I think the idea of different people enjoying different types of stories is very interesting. While agreeing is fun; I also think seeing that variation based on personal perspective is too!
> IF YOU WATCH STEINS;GATE (NOT COMING FROM ITS OTHER MEDIA AND ARE INCLINED TO ITS SENTIMENTAL ASPECTS) WATCH THE MOVIE LAST IT IS IMPERATIVE FOR THE PROSPERITY OF MANKIND
(IGNORE THIS IT'S JUST RAMBLING)
PERSONALLY, I WATCHED IT S1 -> S1 OVA -> S;G 0 -> S;G 0 OVA -> REWATCHED S1 EPISODES 23 TO OVA -> MOVIE -> ANIMATED SHORTS I WAS CONSIDERING THE SIGNIFICANCE OF WATCHING S;G 0 BEFORE S1E23 BUT IT WAS TOO LATE FOR THAT AND I CAME TO LEARN IT MAY BE TOO COMPLICATED A WAY FOR FIRST-TIME VIEWERS | IF YOU LIKE ENGLISH DUBS I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO WATCH IT DUBBED I PERSONALLY FIND THE DUB TO BE PERFORMED EXCELLENTLY UNFORTUNATELY I BELIEVE A CHARACTER HAD A DIFFERENT VA IN S;G 0 BUT IT'S OKAY, I NEVER GOT COMPLETELY USED TO IT AND IT DOES IRRITATE ME BUT I MOSTLY GOT USED TO IT

> I had to watch JoJo subbed (as in, couldn't justify choosing the dub in this case). It was incredibly fitting. I think it increased my tolerance to subbed anime. Wouldn't mind doing that more often.
> Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans was an interesting watch. I think it struggled with feeling contrived; in such a way that events often felt more like they happened simply because they were decided on, without the backing of being fluid with the logic or rest of the story. I would say that held it back from being a favorite for me. Of course, that is something I believe is very common for stories to struggle with. Ah well; plot holes are plot holes. I decided to note it because I did like the show a lot otherwise, and just felt the urge to talk about it somewhere. And this is usually where I go to jot things when I feel as such.
> Been watching mostly subbed lately o_O
