It started out as a list of 50 and a couple of times each season I'd update it with any new characters or changes in my thoughts on existing ones. Sometimes I'd feel like I didn't want to get rid of characters that were about to drop out the list, or I'd want to add a character though, so I'd expand the list. It wasn't a big deal while I kept updating it regularly but as soon as I stopped it became impossible. I probably should never have gone beyond 100 as that's the point when it began to fall apart - and looking at it more than half the characters below that I don't really care about at all now.

Actually I feel like trying to update it now, starting by just reordering the characters already on there and cutting it back down to 100.

True, I didn't think of Ange and Symphogear's music connection. Ange has just a single song unlike Symphogear which has lots of them but it is still vital to the series. And because they only use it in the important moments it's always a memorable moment when it starts playing. It's not a song I think about often when I'm not thinking of Ange but I remember the song parts always being some of my favorite parts. I also love the background music in Cross Ange by the way but I don't know if that relates to Symphogear.

Yep they basically lived together and had an adopted child. And somehow they were still never explicit about being in a reliationship, while Ange was indeed a lot more explicit about it. Come to think of it Sympho also has the yuri relationships so that is yet another connection between the three. My favorites tend to be very similar to each other it seems. :p Well they all still have their own appeals even if they are similar and I won't love any similar show and at least Imas and Yama no Susume aren't action shows.

I actually got a small cabinet to put figures in but I don't even have enough to fill that. :p And I'm too picky to find more. Well eventually I'll find some I really want probably but I don't think I'm likely to go too far with figures. I understand that feeling, I don't like throwing stuff away either and you do get attached to merch.

No longer being a comedy parody is indeed one of the biggest reasons I think it loses its appeal, it gets very dreary when it's supposed to be fun. Another big one is the characters, I like pretty much all the characters pre-3rei. I never rewatch 3rei because I kinda hate it, but I remember from my first watch of it that literally the only characters I still like are Kuro and Gil. Illya goes from having an interesting arc every season where she has to combine her normal life with being a magical girl to being a very standard hero. Miyu goes from being a cool hero in her own right to being nothing but a damsel in distress. Shirou goes from being a funny comic relief to being a shounen hero who hijacks the show as well as the yuri ship to make Miyu a brocon instead. The Ainsworths are just annoying and I don't sympathize with them at all, just grab Miyu, escape back to your own world and get it over with, who cares about their world anyway.

I love all three actually, a big reason why I didn't put the other two in favorites is because I don't like them post-3rei. I can relate to Miyu the most, and her crush on Illya is cute. I'm not big on the friends thing either so I can understand her getting attached to only one person and not caring about the others, I would be kind of like that as well.

I see, so basically 2s are mostly meaningless? I like making sure my ratings reflect how I feel about a show and I change them a lot if I don't think they do so I'm a lot more specific with them.

Yeah my anime journey was very different from most others. I don't really like sticking to the mainstream so even when starting out I tend to dive into the deep immediately. Well for me that worked out well but it's probably not how most people would start out. :p As a lover of cartoons and comedy and cool girls and lolis it was right up my alley, moreso than the shounen shows people usually start with. I'm still not interested in trying most shounen shows.

So did you like Ingrid?

Yeah a lot of my favorites fall in the category of cute girls + action. I would say those three are particularly close together, Symphogear seems to be often seen as somewhat of a modern take on Nanoha, it's a bit more actiony and a bit less dramatic but has a similar core. Cross Ange with Ange and Hilda being voiced by the same people as Fate and Nanoha and also featuring yuri romance between them, along with the show already being similar as you mentioned, I can't watch it without thinking of Nanoha. It is definitely its own thing in the end though, not saying it's copying Nanoha or anything. I'm not much of a figure collector (I only have a few) so I don't really miss the figures but it would be nice for it to get some recognition.

I love Prillya, it's a combination of a lot of things I like. Except I don't like 3rei and further, partially because I don't even get what's happening because I haven't watched/read other Fate stuff, more importantly because I think it loses a lot of its appeal from the earlier seasons. I noticed you only gave Prillya a 2 but you only seem to give 2s or 10s so your rating system probably works a little different from mine. Kuro is cute and sexy and cool which is the ultimate combo. Also made me cry in 2wei ep 6. Haven't watched Ingrid, but Prillya itself is actually one of my first anime, and my first magical girl show.

Volume 1 got translated years ago but I don't think any more than that has ever been translated to English either officially or as a fan translation.

I can't be bothered to update my profile but I really should get around to updating my favourites at some point - other than switching around a couple of rankings I haven't updated them in about 5 years now.

OreTwi would definitely stay where it is, though.
