Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Review
Story (8/10) Very Good
Kimetsu No Yaiba's story for the arcs that were adapted in this 26 episodes were very good. A decent amount was accomplished and although I have not read the manga, as an anime-only, I wouldn't be surprised if this is better than the manga counterpart. The execution of the animation studio Ufotable was a jackpot as soon as it was announced that an anime was coming. Although they had their demon episodic type portions, looking back on it and analyzing everything that has occurred, it was only done up to a point where it didn't
...
start to feel like it was being a rinse and repeat type of formula that had no progression, those monster of the week type of shows that turn most off did not overstay it's welcome in hindsight here. From the overarching story you can tell that the best is yet to come and this is just the beginning and a very good one it was.
Art and Animation (9/10) Great
Like I said in the previous section the moment Ufotable was announced as the animation studio it was gameset for this series to have at least one thing that wouldn't (disappoint for the most part). The only thing that is stopping me from giving this section the probably deserving 10 is the fact that there were indeed scenes that had CG in it that was not appealing. This is both surprising and disappointing because if there was one animation studio that I thought 100% of the time did their CG scenes (regardless of the scene) flawlessly it was Ufotable. This by no means ruins the anime, episode 19 itself makes up for it and will probably go down at the as the best episode in an anime for 2019 from an animation standpoint if you asked people. But overall it is a step down when you compare it to anything they've done with the Fate series even it these scenes I'm referring to are 2 to 3 seconds long Fate had Zero (Fate Zero heh). Point is that's all it can take to break the immersion that Ufotable worked so hard to create around you and immersion is extremely important.
Sound (9/10) Great
Everything sound wise was great, JP Voice acting, the sound effects, the opening music and ending music were next skipped. The music that played during the anime wasn't anything that was memorable but it was fitting, not worth bragging about but not worth complaining about to any degree either.
Characters (7/10) Good
More Specifically (7.75) Good+
The characters in Kimetsu no Yaiba at first were very jarring for me to be honest. I did not like any of them at first, Tanjuro was alright, Zenitsu was annoying af and Inosuke just reminded me of a shitty friend of mine animated before me. And all of them together at first took a long time for me to get use to because their chemistry and dialogue when it just those three is an acquired taste imo. They were loud, obnoxious, annoying, not funny and cringe worth to the max. It's like drinking alcohol for the first time (at least for me) it's not something I personally enjoyed from the get go. Their backstories and further characterization didn't help me like them anymore than I did either (except for Tanjuro it did a bit). It was only the repeated process and I guess heavy desensitization of their pure cooperative and overwhelming stupidity that surprisingly made me start to vaguely enjoy this unique trio. It took a while but by the time they entered the train at the end of the season I didn't mind their crazy charm. The other characters I thought were interesting enough and some of them got backstory was unique enough, nothing mind blowing but good enough for side characters. The villain was definitely hyped up for the entire season, especially in the final episode and his demon followers for the most part all kind of had the same backstory that tried to make you feel sorry for them in their last moments but didn't sell me on the sympathy that they thought I would give.
Enjoyment (7/10)
More Specifically (7.50/10)
My enjoyment of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba for the most part was good enough. Sadly every week it came out I never reached a point where I was ever super hyped to sit down and watch the recent episode and there had been multiple times where I wouldn't even watch it for a week or 2. I'd let it build it because the motivation and excitement just wasn't there sadly. Enjoyment is the most subjective category and there's not much you can do to change it for someone so I'm just giving you my owns opinion on where my current level of enjoyment for this very good anime stood for it's entirety. It most likely had to do with the fact the characters for majority of the season I just couldn't click with. My friend asked me the other day who I thought was my favorite character and I first I was going to say no one because that was the honest truth but then I remembered Tomioka Giyuu.
Overall (8/10) Very Good
More Specifically (8.25/10) Very Good
I was looking forward to this anime more than most prior to it blowing up in popularity and came out far less enjoyed than most sadly. From a popularity standpoint if someone told me this anime is the most popular anime of 2019, I wouldn't disagree. But best? Now we can start a debate (Mob Pysco S2 and Vinland Saga has got some words for you). Nonetheless it is a very good anime and like I said earlier from a story standpoint the best is yet to come to future seasons (if we get them) I can definitely see myself giving them something in the realms of 9 but as of right now all of the sections averages out to an low 8 for me which is still very good.

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 5: Ougon no Kaze Review
Story (8/10) Very Good More Specifically (8.75/10) Very Good+ The story in JoJo's Part 5 is very good, particularly the beginning. We go from Part 4's Japan to Part 5's Italy. From Joseph's Son to Dio/Jonathon's son. I feel the overall plot was very good and this adaption by David Production was well done. When I read the manga I felt the pacing was a bit on the slow side and I gave it an 8.50/10. I feel the pacing was a bit better this time around in anime format although nothing really changed with ... the it, I guess a different format can do that. From a story stand point like I said in my manga written review of this, Part 5 revealing of the origin of Stands was welcomed since it had always been a lingering mystery of JoJo's since their introduction in Part 3, I know some people might not like the explanation behind it but I didn't find it that bad. But Araki still drops a certain story plot with a certain character that I still think to this day is unforgivable, I'll talk about that more in the character section. Everything else though from a story standpoint was very good. Art and Animation (8/10) Very Good More Specifically (8.75/10) Very Good+ The Art and Animation I thought were very good. Many cool character designs and stands. The animation was very good although I feel they did cut corners from time to time in both art and animation where certain drawn faces on stands (Like Gold ER) didn't look consistent and the whole colored slide show action scenes from time to time are thing I feel that hold it back from reaching a 9 to me, (especially if you are watching the currently airing Fire Fore by David Productions right now and saw what they are doing over there). Nonetheless it's still very good and does the manga which I thought was one of Araki's weaker drawn parts justice. Sound (10/10) Outstanding David Productions went all out when it came to the music of JoJo's Part 5. The first opening Fighting Gold is one of my new favorites I never wanted it to change. When it did change I didn't like it at first but it quickly grew onto me. And this is the first time as far as I know they changed the opening twice and music along with it, that was a double treat. The first outro music had the entire community on the floor in laughter by how out of place but ridiculously awesome it was at the same time and the second one was laid back and good enough after having such crazy episode on a weekly basis. The piano theme song for when Giorno is about to beat someone up is probably the best Joestar theme song now and all of the JP voice actors did phenomenal job with the character they were hired to play. Characters (8/10) Very Good {Spoilers} More Specifically (8.75/10) Very Good+ The Characters in JoJo's Part 5 although I feel they were very good. When I wrote my written review about the character section I initially gave a 9 saying that "majority of them have some of the best backstories I've read in any JoJo's part up to now" which now as a JoJo's veteran, sure from an anime standpoint this statement probably still holds up, but having knowledge of all of JoJo's all the way up to Part 8 has definitely changed my opinion a bit on the characters of Part 5 and felt I was a bit too generous with that 9. I do feel David Productions did a great job adapting the characters and bringing them to life and I feel with that it allowed me to understand them better and see they aren't as good as I thought from when I first read about them in the manga their interactions with each other are probably the best thing about them and individually they still hold up just not as much as I initially thought. My thoughts have changed a bit from when I first read them. Firstly Giorno Giovanna I think is actually a very good character now, when I completed the manga I said "he in my opinion just lack a unique personality enough for me to enjoy majority of anything about him from a personality stand point. You would think for who his father is he would have been a little more exciting to follow, but even Jotaro's laid back and dull personality was more enjoyable than Giorno's." I do not feel this way anymore, I feel that Giorno's personality from the start of the series where he was basically just a pretty boy punk looking out for himself and if you think about it that was Dio as a child also. Unlike Dio though he wouldn't do anything necessarily evil but he wasn't clean as a whistle either. Going with the crew quickly gave him into some very good character development and turned him into an ambitious leader, a gentlemen like his other father (the Jonathon side) and the most powerful mc in all of JoJo's. Sure he's not as entertaining as Joseph or Josuke. But I feel Araki wasn't going for that with Giorno so to compare him to those two characters I feel isn't quite fair. Giorno wasn't trying to make the reader/watcher laugh like those characters did. He's definitely a combination of Jonathan and Jotaro if anything and should be compared to those two and when you do that I feel it's better and deeper than both of them. Everything else about all the other characters I felt about the same way so I'll copy and paste what I said about them in my manga review here with some additions. Diavolo I have mixed feelings about because one part of me wants to like him and another just sees a villain with wasted potential, he was technically the only main villain so far that understood every detail about the ability his stand has but still felt like he came short AS a villain in comparison to previous JoJo main villains. After his full reveal his presence as a threat didn't last nearly as long as his predecessors. His stand was cool but Diavolo isn't, especially after he's fully revealed. His characterization when thinking about it can be seen as unique but that's from a character standpoint which is good since that's what this section is called, but is it that unique? No not that much, I feel he as a villain he was a bit one dimensional and kind of paranoid for no apparent reason just for the sake of the plot. His reasoning behind why he wanted to cut ties with anyone that knows about him made sense but it was also a bit too similar to the previous villain's Kira Yoshikage who also wanted to basically be invisible to society and do his dirty deeds in the shadows yet everyone I talk to feels that Kira Yoshikage was definitely a better villain. Either way I don't think Diavolo is horrible but as it stands now in my opinion he's not all that amazing coming off of Kars, Dio Brando and Kira Yoshikage, he's below them all. If there's one thing you can give him credit for is the fact that he more than any villain before him killed the most of the Joestar's crew coming in with 3 kills (Dio didn't kill Iggy that was Vanilla Ice, so Dio only killed 2, Kira and Kars 1). Speaking of character deaths when first read the manga I felt the character deaths felt out of no where and just a bit unnecessary. That's not the case anymore as if I give Diavolo credit on anything he stragetically took out each of his kills the smart way, separated and individually. Even at the very end when he was was outnumbered his first insticnt was to retreat know it that fighting them seperately is what had gotten him that far also, so at least the consistency in his character was well done to the very end if anything. The one specific character (Fugo) just pussied out on the crew 60% of the way through this Part I didn't think was very cool either and was wasted of potential. And it was because if you didn't know Araki intended on using that character in a far greater role. He intended on bringing Fugo back as an antagonist to fight against the crew, this is the reason why Fugo had anger issues and had such a deadly poisonous stand that was only shown once and was considered very powerful. It was all suppose to be setup for him when he came back to fight against the crew. Araki scrapped this idea because as far as I remember him saying, "He didn't want the readers to hate Fugo a former crew member" but sadly what he had not predicted by doing this is the fact that (and I feel confident saying this for everyone) we actually hate him for pussing out and basically disappearing from the series vs if he had come back and fought against them. Him coming back and fighting probably could have lead to not only a great fight and something that has never been done before in a JoJo's part which would be a crew betrayal. But it also would have given Fugo the opportunity to further explain his stance and possibly lead to deeper characterization. All in all I felt as a writer Araki pussied out of the initial idea he had setup up. This isn't the first time he had done this (if you remember Josuke's backstory) and sadly it isn't the last if you know about future parts of JoJo's. Other characters were entertaining and good enough nothing worth going super deep into when it comes to them. Enjoyment (10/10) Outstanding JoJo's Part 5 has made my fridays worth it every single time a new episode dropped. This series probably more than any other is so satisfying watching it on a weekly basis, you can tell it was built that way after Part 2. Like I said in when I wrote my manga review I felt the character interactions between the crew were definitely one of the most entertaining things of this part. By the end of this part I felt this crew was far more connected to each other than any other crew that came before them. With unforgettable scenes like the "torture dance" or "the crew stomp" in anime format it's far more remember able than it was in manga format to me. My favorite fight in the manga was the fight against White Album and I'm so glad it was done justice in the anime. And fights I weren't too fond of in the manga like ""Notorious B.I.G." and "Green Day"/"Oasis" were far more entertaining in anime format than they ever were in manga format, especially "Green Day/Oasis" which I considered kind of boring when I read it even with the 7 Page Muda. Like I said in the music part the change of the openings not once but twice also was a very good treat. Overall (9/10) Great More Specifically (9.25/10) Great When I wrote my manga review for this back when I read it almost 4 years ago. I struggled to figure out which I thought was better Part 3 or Part 5, now with a lot of hindsight on both Parts. I would say that I still like Part 3 more but Part 5 is better. The first half of Part 3 I did not find as good as the second half of Part 3 (The First and Second Season of Stardust Crusaders anime is what I'm referring to). Looking at both of them as one I'd give it to Part 5 but separately I'd say I still enjoyed Stardust Crusaders Season 2 over all of Part 5. If Araki went through with the Fugo plot I'd probably put it over Part 3 S2 but I feel that removal was worse than the ass pull of Star Platinum getting the ability of The World right at the end of Part 3 or the Josuke Flashback in Part 4. Either way I still feel this adaptation is superior to the manga which is all we can ask for. Many people initially when the manga first came out considered Part 5 to be one of the worse parts. I remember when the manga had like a 7.90 when I first read it on this site but I feel that narrative is long gone as I can see many people considering this to be their new favorite part which doesn't sound too far fetch to me. (Mine is still Part 7 of course but you don't know nothing about that do you :P)

Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya Review
Story (6/10) Fine As a heavy fan of Saint Seiya and as you would assume from many other long fans, I feel comfortable enough to speak for the majority of us when I say we are not necessarily satisfied with the amount of changes to this story. As soon as I saw Seiya riding in on a skateboard I knew I was in for it. I think the biggest change to the overall story has to be the inclusion of the antagonist Vander. Who's goal is to use the power of comso to fight against the Gods instead of with ... them. Now I'm not going to necessarily say this is bad or inferior to the initial way the story was setup but you can best believe I obviously prefer the previous way the story was setup as I didn't necessarily have a problem with it. It felt like the director Yoshiharu Ashino wanted to explain things in the universe of Saint Seiya that 1) No one ever asked to be explained and 2) Didn't care if those questions were explained ever. I guess someone did ask those questions and that person would be him. Nonetheless, I'll say this statement more than once in this review (so get use to me repeating myself when I say "if you aren't familiar with Saint Seiya and this is probably your first introduction to it then there's a high chance you didn't see any issue with any of this" but for me? A long time heavy Saint Seiya fan? I thought it was meh, it combined the Galaxian Wars and the Phoenix Ikki (or should I say Nero.. ughh) Arc with this new Vander plot and it wasn't too messy I guess, fast pace? definitely, but messy? not so much. Art and Animation (7/10) Good Enough I'm going to be completely honest with you, when I heard this would be CGI, disappointment filled my heart faster than a Gold Saint Attack. When I saw the trailers and saw the type of CG they were using I wasn't disgusted but I wasn't impress either. I think the best CG I've seen is from 2014's Saint Seiya Legend of Sanctuary movie, that was gorgeous. I wasn't a fan of the design changes but the CG quality was phenomenal. This on the other hand is a step down from that on both CG quality and animation. The fighting choerography was satisfactory I guess because that's something the 80s version was lacking for the most part so I'll give them that. It's good enough I guess but we all know what we really wanted was some nice handdrawn stuff. You know like Lost Canvas or The Overture Movie, Hell even Saint Seiya Omega S1 or the recent Saintia Sho levels of hand drawn quality would have been preferred by me over this which was suppose to be the new forefront Seiya Seiya. Sound (6/10) Fair Firstly I want to point out the fact that when I go about watching Saint Seiya I would prefer to listen to it in Japanese because that's how I always have, so seeing that Netlix decided to not even have one was quite disappointing. It's odd since the franchise was made in Japan and there's multiple different language voice options you can swap to, French, German, Italian and Spanish which we all know those were the languages this franchise were popular in sure but no Japanese? Really? Sigh What ever, I chose english and obviously this being the first time I experience Saint Seiya in English Dub I was not a fan (and for the most part that can be said about anyone watching anything in a language that they previously didn't listen to it in, we all remember the first time we heard Goku's JP voice actor right?). So just like the story section I don't think you would find anything remotely wrong with the voices, voice acting quality may vary. I didn't hear any impressive voice acting being done just average stuff nothing horrible so I guess that's fair. And the new English Opening of Pegasus Fantasy? Ehh It's okay, I can tell you for sure it's not something I can see myself re-listening to outside of this adaptation and I have with literally every other Saint Seiya Opening Spin off or not. Characters (6/10) Fair Enough So firstly I want to address the multiple elephants in the room. Why were there so many name changes? Seika = Patricia, Hyoga = Magnus, Shiryu = Long, Shun = Shuan, Ikki = Nero, Saori = Seinna. Literally the entire bronze saint cast's name got change except for Seiya which they obviously didn't change because his name is in the title. But hell even the word Saint isn't even used throughout the adaptation they are called Knights which sure that's what the old English Dub version called them also (but I had an issue with it back then too so yeah) but my point still stands WHY? One would assume "ohh well their names were change to be more western friendly who wants to say Shee-reee-you when they can just say Long??" Well if that was their reasoning then why was the Pegasus Ryu-Sei-Ken not changed to Pegasus Meteor Fist? And why was Rozan Shoryuha not changed to Rising Dragon Lord hell that one was changed into something chinese which is I guess is understandable because Shiryu is chinese but nonetheless my point is still the same and that is that all these name changes I feel didn't really needed to be changed. Like I said I feel this director was trying to change and 'fix' things that weren't necessarily broken. Let's actually talk about the some of actual characters now shall we? Since that's what this section is about. So like I said they basically start the show off with Seiya riding in on a skateboard.... Anyway Seiya's character (it's been a while) is not what I remembered. He seems real reluctant into even becoming a Saint orr Knight should I say to begin with which was not the case in the OG version where he's excited as far as I remember. But I guess with the amount of changes to the overall beginning of the story his exciting attitude wouldn't make much sense now so his initial character is changed accordingly which is understandable from a writing standpoint so you have to take it or leave it. I'm personally not a fan of seeing Seiya basically act like a protagonist from a mech anime (Which is basically being reluctant to do what the plot requires him at first then coming around) they changed his backstory to fit their changes and doing so changing your outlook on the character this can be a positive or a negative thing depending on who you ask. And like I'll continuously say there's probably nothing wrong with it from a writing standpoint and I'm sure if you don't know what it initially was you most likely wouldn't have a problem with it either. Seika/Patricia - Seiya's little sister was the first character they introduce that has a name change. And not only does she has a name change but a character design is changed too. In the original anime (and manga probably) her hair was not red it was brown like seiya's. And at first I was so confused as to why in the hell they made her hair red. And then when I saw Eagle Marin it all made sense.. If you don't know what I'm referring to I wouldn't say anymore but if you have watched or read anything Saint Seiya prior to this I assume you know as well as I do now what they are trying to do with this character and seeing as though they might not make it to the Hades arc in this adaption (or at least I'd hope they don't) they can probably get away with what they are trying to setup. Shiryu/Long - Other than his name nothing as changed about my favorite character. Sure his fight with Seiya was drastically changed and definitely objectively watered down but this is about character wise and everything for the most part was the same about him. Hyoga/Magnus - His backstory was changed slightly I don't necessarily remember him being ordered by the Sanctuary to kill Athena. I felt that was thrown in to express the plot more than anything else. I'll tell you what though they made him a jerk this time around his attitude is as cold as his attacks and I don't know how I feel about that. I guess they felt he was too boring of a character and this is what they felt they needed to do to spice him up? I don't know.. what I do know is that I knew people who's favorite character was Hyoga so I wonder how they'll feel about this drastic change in his character surely they don't mind right? I'm sure the fans of the next character I talk about would though. Shun/Shuan - This character by far (even before this adaptation aired) was the most controversial. Because if you aren't aware of what the original version of this character was by now I'm surprised. She used to be a he and damn near everyone that I've talk to about this was not okay with this change. The director said his reasoning was because "there's no girl representation", my man Saint Seiya's target audience is always boys not girls. Girls had Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya Saintia Sho, although Saint Seiya was inspired by Super Sentai doesn't necessarily mean they should follow in their exact footsteps of having at least on female representation. I understand the want for pulling in new audience, making it more welcoming to that one girl that might have watched this show one Neflix and asked where's the girl saints? But fun fact (and I hate this fun fact in particular) but Saint Seiya was known as the catalyst series to jump start the popularity for Yaoi. It was because of the pretty boy look that all of the main cast had that actually made the girl watchers (which surprisingly even to me there was a handful of them) fantasize about them being together and doing... Yoai things..(ughhh). The point is you kind of took that away from the girl fans that had that because most of them loved pretty boy Shun, not "I'm a girl but I can fight too" Shuan. The dynamic of Shuan and her older brother Ikki (or Nero should I say..I shouldn't) was not only destroyed because of how it was initially setup in the original this version I felt didn't even do a good job in replacing that dynamic of the older brother/younger brother dynamic with this older brother/younger sister dynamic, it did not feel organic to me one bit. With the show going at a faster pace than the manga or 80s anime you could say they didn't have the time to focus on them too much but that's just failing to prepare on the directors part. But like every single thing I've critiqued prior I doubt you'd see a problem with any of this if you are new to the franchise. So who cares about the opinion of a long supporting fan right? You've got your new ones now right? I'm sure they'll support this franchise better than I ever did right? They'll carry the torch to the future of the success of the franchise! Only time will tell right!? You wanted to make Shun more unique by making him a girl but in actuality him being a girly boy is actually far more unique than actually being a girl. Ikki/Nero - Other than linking his reasoning for taking the Gold Cloth to the new antagonist Vander, nothing has really changed about Ikki/Nero. I wasn't a fan of him getting hit with his own Genma Ken the sense be behind it was not to my liking but what ever right? This adaption wasn't meant for me as I was told. Seinna/Saori - Nothing really changed other than her name. Enjoyment (5/10) Medoicre I wouldn't say that my enjoyment was good or even satisfactory as a long term fan. But I also wouldn't say that this was a terrible adaptation either. I feel the only reason I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have was because of my deep connection to the previous version, that 1986 version is my favorite anime after all time so this had some big shoes for me personally to fill and they didn't even fill the toe area. But like I said this adaptation wasn't meant for me and if they keep on pumping out Saint Seiya content like this they obviously don't care to keep someone like me entertained. Anyway this is only based off the first 6 episodes but I doubt the next 6 would change my opinion, if it does I'll update this review. Overall (6/10) Fair Enough I was intending on using this as a gateway introduction to anyone I would introduce to the franchise but now after seeing this, I don't know if I want to do that. Maybe this is a good gateway and my clouded judgement and deep connection to the previous version is preventing me from seeing the good in this or maybe it actually is trash that is ultimately your opinion to make. Either way take away from this what ever you can but as an OG Saint Seiya fan, if you ask me? Go to the 1986 Saint Seiya I'd still recommend it over this, because regardless what the director thinks I personally think it still holds up especially if you like 80s anime. But if you are like a 14 year old girl looking for some representation of a girl in a boys anime then I guess this one is most likely better for you to start off with.

Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen Review
Story (7/10) Good More Specifically (7.50/10) Good+ The story behind Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen I would say is good. This entire movie was dedicated to concluding the Shinobu and her whole revealed plot from the get go. I didn't have a problem with the reveal but the mc's realization that he basically just revived a vampire that obviously needs to feed on humans to continue to survive did come off as making the mc once again look like an idiot. Art and Animation (10/10) Masterpiece ... I thought the last movie's artstyle and animation was amazing this one is even better. You can tell the animation studio was having fun when it came to adapting the major fight of this movie. Sound (8/10) Very Good JP VA was very good especially between the MC and Shinobu Characters (7/10) Good Even though the main character didn't think it through as to the whole revelation that he has in this movie that Shinobu was going to feed and kill humans prior. Him eventually coming to the realization shows some small hint of hope for him when it comes to being a decent human being I guess and I'll give small credit where credit is due. Hanekawa wasn't as slutty this time around at least when it came to the "raunchy part" she was apart of there was some sort of reasoning behind it. Enjoyment (8/10) Very Good More Specifically (8.75/10) Very Good+ The final fight alone makes this entire movie worth watching as it's easily the best scene in the trilogy and some of the best works of animation I've seen in a long time. Overall (8/10) Very Good More Specifically (8.25/10) Very Good This was a very good movie, although it's conclusion wasn't something I'm too satisfied with the overall movie and pacing of it I felt was a lot better this time around vs the first two movies.

Story (6/10) Fair The story for Kizumonogatari II: Nekketsu-hen can be summed up into a few words "arguable pay off". This movie picks up right where the last one left off which was setting up the goal this is needed to bring the vampire character Oshino Shinobu back to her original state by getting her limbs back. Just like the first movie it waste no time into flinging you into the first of three antagonist. First one is a vampire who hunts vampires because it's a job (so blade....okay and hey look he uses blades..), he was extremely powerful cutting off the ... mc's limbs and making him run like a coward it was all was very entertaining but the how he's defeat which is basically having baseballs and steel balls thrown at him into he surrendered was kind of anticlimactic to the character they showed at the start of the movie. I don't know why he just didn't slice away the incoming balls but whatever he explains how he can't regenerate as fast as the mc but his reasoning still came off as half ass and disappointing you would think as a vampire hunter he would have thought of some different way to overcome such an obstacle, because you know he did it with the vampire chick before the start of these movies right? Sure he had help but nonetheless he gave up too fast and honestly it just felt like it was done because of how much they wanted to cover in this movie and came up with this reason just to move on to the next antagonist. The second one is half vampire motivated by personal interest which I personally cared not for, he had this telephoning between mist ability/gimmick and a giant cross as a weapon which is suppose to represent Christ which I thought was cool. Until we have Hanekawa come in to try and tell the mc how his ability work just to get stuck down and have all over her intestines blow open on her side (and showing some undertit at the same time sure). MC gets mad turns into an instant bad ass (which I'm not taking anything away from the scene it was cool and well animated, probably the best scene in the movie) and insta-wins against this guy. MC heals Hanekawa with his brain blood (which i guess doesn't turn her into a vampire? I don't know yet, it was not implied so what ever). Third and the last one is a human priest who you would think would have some decency when it came to kidnapping and using innocent regular humans as bait for their vampire preys his moral compass as a priest was not even mentioned or explored to any degree as far as I recall. MC uses some weirdo black tentacle attack and wins against this guy so quickly I can't even remember what happened in between. And in a nutshell that's this entire movie with the loli vampire girl turning into a loli-teen and a young adult as she gets all of her limbs back but still not strong enough to fight sure.. Art and Animation (10/10) Outstanding Once again this section is the one section that is undoubtedly outstanding regardless of what occurred in the series. It's eye-candy's eye-candy Sound (8/10) Very Good JP VA is very good and the music at the ending credits was very good. Characters (5/10) Mediocre More Specifically (5.50/10) Mediocre+ The characters this time around were a little bit better than how they were showcased in the previous movie except for one. Hanekawa's character continues to be as people are calling her a shameless tramp and a former shell of how she's portrayed in the future parts. I heard that this movie was created after the future parts in this series and I guess character consistency is something that wasn't well kept with Hanekawa. Apparently she has a lot more self respect for herself in the future parts and one can say that it can be seen as "future character development" but that all depends on if something happens to trigger the reason for the change which I doubt there is. But enough talking about how I heard the character was vs how she is now because how she is now regardless of how she ends up being is besides the point. Right now to me at least she's basically an unlikable, unbelievable, shameless tramp currently that only has her looks going for her. Even the MC doesn't understand why this character is the way she is it's not normal or believable to any degree but he plays along since he's attracted to her. He this time around felt a bit more believable I guess. Although I can't understand why he would like this girl other than the fact that she's hot and has big tits, I guess he's getting love confused with infatuation. Shinobu's role in this movie is basically getting all her parts back and becoming her former self she doesn't really do anything beside at as a random explainer for vampire abilities in the background from time to time it was what ever. Enjoyment (8/10) Very Good I guess with the amount of action this part had it kept my attention more than the first part. The animation and artstyle through all the dynamic fight scenes were amazing but sadly that's where my entertainment for this movie ends. Nonetheless it was enough for me to feel satisfied at least from an entertainment standpoint. Overall (7/10) Good More Specifically (7.50/10) Good+ This movie was at least entertaining enough to hold my attention as like I said before I didn't doze of like I did in the first movie, lots of action in this movie is probably the reason for that. And I'm not saying I need action to keep me awake because I explained all my reasons for being turned off of all of the none action related scenes. So if those can't hold me but the action can then you better give me more action I guess. I felt this and the last movie probably should have been combined together because the first was all setup while this one all action together they are all better than apart regardless of the flaws that both have.

Kizumonogatari I: Tekketsu-hen Review
Story (5/10) Mediocre More Specifically (5.75/10) Mediocre+ The story for Kizumonogatari the first movie at least to me can be summarized up to one simple word "Setup". This is coming from someone who has not watched anything from the Monogatari series what so ever. The story definitely starts off at an odd part showing the mc being lit on fire just to fast forward him meeting some girl who's panties are showcased to him because the wind blew her dress up. After that they just hang out and basically become from friends. Although I understand this is anime and comparison to realism shouldn't ... be held too closely, (especially in a series about vampires) regular character interaction between humans should have some realism behind it, but I'll save the rest of my critiques of that for the character section. After that we basically get flung into the subway scene with the dying vampire character pleading the mc to give her his blood. The mc is reluctant at first (as anyone would) but then changes his mind and just sacrifices himself for this random vampire chick he just met, like I said earlier all of this just felt way too forced to get the story where it wanted to be. Then we get flung two days into the future where the vampire chick went from being a woman into basically a loli and she tells the mc he's somewhat of a vampire which pulls in the scene where he was burning at the start of the movie and the fact that he now has to get all the body parts stolen from the vampire loli girl from the people that tried to kill her? Why didn't they finish her off? I don't know. Like I said it all felt rushed too me, like they had things they wanted to cover and just threw it all together to run up the time into this hour long movie. Art and Animation (9/10) Great More Specifically (9.75/10) Great+ This is probably the best thing this movie has going for it. Especially the burning of the mc scene. It's probably the most well known scene since I've seen it multiple times outside of this movie as a showcase of great artstyle and animation I didn't know at the time it came from this but it's an outstanding scene. Everything else in the movie was nothing less of great also. Sound (7/10) Good Nothing crazy in this section, nothing bad nothing amazing. The jp va was good also, I saw that there was a fan dub but I heard mix things about it so I stayed away especially since they've only fan dubbed the 1st movie, I would hate to have loved it just to go to the second realizing that there isn't a fan dub for it. Characters (4/10) Bad More Specifically (4/10) Bad Basically every single character in this movie that was focused on I felt was not good at all. At least for their introduction which is what this entire movie decide to focus on which introducing literally everything in a fast paced manner. The MC, Araragi Koyomi starts off pretending like he's some weirdo/anti-social character to the Hanekawa Tsubasa at first, then they just become friends out of nowhere, it wasn't that believable to me. Hanekawa Tsubasa is also a unbelievable character who just randomly sees this guy she recognizes from school who just saw her panties and just borderline forces him to become her friend by putting her contact info in his phone and continuously bending over to show her tits hang to him. I guess since I'm not into the whole anime troupy like character like that anymore it came off to me as extremely immature off-putting, unbelievable, uninteresting and hard to watch but then from another spectrum this isn't even how troupy anime girls act as the first thing they would do is slap the MC for seeing their panties. Either way whether if it was generic or unique in it's own right the execution that was taken wasn't something I personally liked. This character came off way too strong on the MC, I could not get immersed by it. Oshino Shinobu aka the Vampire lady/loli that the mc ends up finding in the subway with her limbs served I did not like that much either as she came off firstly as a some stuck up bigot commanding the MC to give her his blood but then when the MC refuses she breaks down into the psycho beggar because she realizes it didn't work and now she's going to die. I'm going to give this character a bit of leeway since she's not human so her drastic change in personality isn't something that could or should be compared to that of humans. But how the main character reacts to this character where he complies to such a plee is something that is also unbelievable regardless of his reluctance at first his reasoning behind giving his life for her wasn't something I thought was executed well either. Especially since like I said earlier he just met this random chick but he's ready to basically kill himself for her, to me that just makes the mc look worst at this point in the story. Oshino Meme I didn't have too much issues with since he didn't really do anything. Enjoyment (5/10) Mediocre More Specifically (5.50/10) Mediocre At the start of the movie, it caught my attention with it's quite unique art style and great animation especially since they started it off with the burning mc scene. Which now that I think about it, the reason they did that is probably because they knew that's probably the most entertaining thing you'll get from this movie is that scene. Like I said at the start of this review this entire movie was all setup. Build up that I felt was not paid off to my personally satisfaction. I started dozing off midway through the movie on how boring it started to get at one point, my brain started to quickly lose interest so I wouldn't be surprised if I missed something but if you've read the story section of my review it looks like I caught everything that was relevant so all the parts I possibly did miss while dozing off probably could have been removed anyway. Overall (6/10) Fair More Specifically (6.40/10) Fair I'm quite disappointed in this first movie especially since I've heard great things about this series. If there's one thing I believe in any form of entertainment that is contained into a specific portion especially something like a movie is that there needs to be an equilibrium between it's build up portion and it's pay off section. I feel this movie was missing it significantly in the pay off section, I can see the potential for where the series wants to take itself but this movie's execution I felt fell quite flat on it's face, it felt like a hot mess. It was almost enough for me not to want to continue but the key word in this sentence is "almost". I'll continue and I don't even know or think this was probably the best part to start the series off at but nonetheless it's the one I chose and will continue with.

Mobile Suit Gundam NT Review
Story (5/10) Mediocre More Specifically (5.75/10) Good The story for Mobile Suit Gundam NT was mediocre, it follows a tri-protagonist story about three children known as the miracle children that were known to predict an upcoming catastrophic event that happened during the time 0079. This causes the future of these three children to be used and manipulated for the ravages of war between the Earth Federation and Neo Zeon. I thought the overall execution was good but this movie definitely requires a hefty knowledge of at least Gundam 0079, Gundam 0087 Zeta, Gundam 0093 Char's Counter Attack and Gundam 0096 Unicorn. For a ... heavy Gundam fan this is fine but for everyone else that is indeed asking a bit much as this movie will constantly flashback to scenes of the series or movies that I mentioned. So if you have no knowledge of them the call backs will indeed fly right over your head clean. It's indeed a double-edge sword but seeing as this was only in theaters for 1 day, Sunrise assumed only hardcore Gundam fans would be there for this so it is what it is. Nonetheless I thought it was wasn't anything worth complimenting. Art and Animation (8/10) Very Good More Specifically (8.75/10) Very Good+ The art style I felt for this move was very good and so was the animation. Although the mech fights were cool at times it would get so chaotic sometimes, you could easily loose track of what's going on. So it can get high maintenance to keep track of everything when the going gets tough. The CG animation on the Phenex Gundam wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it is a tinsy bit weird to see everything else hand drawn while the Phenex is in full CG and sometimes it'll go handdrawn itself so the consistency between that, I wouldn't be surprise if it bothered people like it did me. Sound (9/10) More Specifically (9.50/10) Great The sound in the movie was the best thing about it, the background music ost of VigilaNTe made every scene it played it two times better to me, I watched it in English dub and I thought every voice actor did a great job, nothing outstanding but definitely nothing big enough to complain about to any degree. Characters (6/10) Good {Minor Spoilers} Like I said in the story section this movie is a tri-protagonist movie, which was a new different take for a Gundam. At first I didn't really have an issue with the three but after a bit of hindsight, Jona Basta didn't really showcase any good characterization to really care commend. He wasn't a bad character but he definitely wasn't anything to compliment, we was just there continuously talking about his mission where you could see his character wasn't right in the head for basically the entire movie (and also his piloting skills weren't all that either). Rita is a bit more interesting as she was positive with hopes and dreams 24/7 but you know where that usually leads you in a Gundam series, nonetheless I thought the little dialogue she did have was interesting enough to say she was a good enough character. Michele is the one that surprisingly gets the most characterization and character development of the three as her actions causes her to go down many different paths through the movie one of jealously one, one of self discovery for both herself and humanity and lastly one of redemption, she may be the least likable but from a character standpoint I would definitely say she's got the most depth to her. That antagonist of this movie I felt could have been handled a bit better as his backstory and reasoning behind doing what he does wasn't really explained as well as it should have been in my opinion, it was hard for me to care for anything he did. Enjoyment (8/10) Very Good As I watched the movie, all I wanted to see was some good ole Gundam action, but I also did get a decent enough story and characters. The many call backs I appreciated and the return of "you know who" at the end of the movie. Overall (7/10) Good More Specifically (7.60/10) Good+ Overall the movie wasn't very good but I wouldn't say it's bad either. I thought it was enjoyable for the most part and that's mostly probably because i watched it on the big screen. Can't wait for Hathaway's Flash!

Dragon Ball Super Movie: Broly Review
(Minor Spoilers) Story (8/10) Very Good More Specifically (8.75/10) Very Good+ The story for Dragon Ball Super Movie: Broly was very good, at first I was not a fan of them going back and changing the origin story that was established in Dragon Ball which was already sort of a homage spin off origin story to Superman's and this new Dragon Ball Minus backstory makes it even closer in resemblance to that of Superman's. But after watching it and seeing the execution behind it, I don't necessarily think it's all that bad. I guess I just wasn't comfortable with change but ... at least in this version we get to know more about the origin story of the Sayians. The overall story behind the movie was very good and simple as it should be also. We all know what we came here for and that's to watch Broly whoop some ass and getting a story that was actually more than decent behind it was a treat. Art and Animation (9/10) Great More Specifically (9.75/10) Great+ I would love to give this section a 10/10 because it definitely had moments in the fight scenes and choreography that was nothing less of outstanding. But I'm not entirely sure if I am fine with the multiple different art styles that this movie decided to shift to. There was at least 5 different art styles I saw this movie and it would have been fine if at most was only around 3. I felt there were a bit too many, none were bad to look at but it did break my personal consistency of immersion when I see a character's face looked a tad bit different what it did look a few seconds ago. And also I was not a fan of the CG portions of the fight, although it was not often it did stick out to me and I was not a fan. The particle effects explode and energy graphics, CG I think was fine but on characters, it did not fit well in my personal opinion it looked like I was watching Dragon Ball FighterZ which is not what I want to see during a Toei Anime Movie. Sound (9/10) Great The sound in this movie was great, I watched it in English Dub and all of that was great, but the music for this movie I felt was off to me. It didn't feel like it fit the usual type of background music they would often play during a Dragon Ball fight, I personally was not a fan of what was chosen as it didn't add to the hype of moments like the previous movies did during their most hype moments. Characters (9/10) Great The Characters were great all of the Dragon Ball characters were entertaining as always. It's cool to see Vegeta not get disrespected and treated like a punching bag for once in a while. The return of Gogeta and making him canon was welcoming also. Broly's overall character was definitely handled better this time around versus his previous version. The other two new characters Cheelai and Lemo weren't annoying as they got a decent amount of screen time. And seeing the new take on Bardock also was welcoming and Goku's mother Gine was a nice addition although short lived also. The other Z-Warriors were missing and that's sad but I would rather them not be in the movie if they weren't going to add anything to the movie which was about Broly. Beerus I was disappointed by though as they put him on babysitting duty and I really haven't seen him do anything for a long while. Whis was here and there and was a treat as he was trolling as he always was and Frieza still up to his conniving ways which was entertaining as always. Enjoyment (10/10) Outstanding I was engrossed for the entire movie even during all of the setup, it was interesting since like I said before it was a new take on an origin story that was not that fleshed out. And when the fighting started it continued to the very end of the movie which was a satisfying and enjoying amount of time. Overall (9/10) Great More Specifically (9.50/10) Great+ I thought this movie was great, I'm surprised and also kinda of happy that at the end of the movie Broly wasn't necessarily killed off. You can tell whenever the next anime tv series of Dragon Ball starts that Broly is going to be used in some way. I heard he was already mentioned in that Toyataro manga that is 2 chapters pass this movie. I'm glad this movie came out well and welcome more Dragon Ball movies in the future.

Kingdom 2nd Season (Dub) Review
Story (6/10) Fair More Specifically (6.75/10) Fair+ Majority of the story that was being adapted from the manga stayed intact, but sadly since once again this is being adapted by probably my most hated animation studio, Studio Perriot they can't do a manga justice 9 times out of 10 they never do. Just like the first season certain smaller but still important arcs were either rushed or skipped over. And to add insult to injury Studio Perriot had the audacity to add filler to series with a already has a ridiculous amount of canon source materiel to be adapted anyway. Non-canon flashback filler ... which seemed like a poor attempt to further deepen the characterization of one of the main characters. Sadly the flashback filler I felt was extremely boring, intrusion to the canon source material (which certain wasn't lacking) and not needed one bit in my opinion. For further elaboration on the anime adaptation not doing the manga justice I'll explain more in the enjoyment section. Art and Animation (5/10) Mediocre More Specifically (5.50/10) Mediocre If there's one thing you've probably heard about Season 2 of Kingdom is that "it's far better than Season one, oh it's night and day". This statement is not true, if Season 1 was night then Season 2 is like sunset. Everyone knows the absolute main reason why this overall adaptation sucks and it's because of the horrible and intrusive combination of CG anime and handdrawn artstyle that Studio Perriot decided to go with. Is the CG less consistent in comparison to Season 1 like they say? Yes. But is it gone? No. Is there far more handdrawn than CG? Yes. But during the more important scenes is this handdrawn artyle consistently present? No it is not and that's probably one of my biggest gripes about Season 2 of Kingdom, hell this entire adaptation. It's the fact that absolutely no scene that I thought was amazing in the manga was adapted satisfyingly well in this anime. And that's sad because this is one thing you would assume an anime watcher would have over a manga reader is the fact that they get to enjoy ANIMATION and not just any animation GOOD ANIMATION. Not what this adaptation offers which was basically some of the worst CG I've ever seen in anime, some decent handdrawn scenes during basically scenes that had no animation what so ever and when there is a fight scene let's basically do the entire fight scenes in colored slide shows with sound or just combine it with horrible CG. Sound (Dub) (6/10) Meh More Specifically (6.75/10) Meh+ Knowing how many episodes I had to bare though I couldn't find myself watching it in sub although to be quite far that's definitely the superior one out of the two if you asked me and why is that? Well it's because for the most part the english dub acting behind this adaptation sucks really badly. Voice actors chosen for the characters sound like they should but for the most part they sound like they are reading from their script and pausing in the middle of lines and it is completely noticeable when it happens and destroys any immersion you possibly were holding on to. The only reason the category even reaches the realm of a 6 is because that opening theme song was great, I never skipped it and sadly was the most enjoyable part of this entire anime, once the opening ends that's where it for the most part became a dread to watch sadly. Characters (7/10) Good The characters just like the story for the most part were adapted ok enough none of them had their personalities changed during this adaptation. Now going back to the english dub voice acting for a bit if there's anything that'll make you not like a character it might be that but if you're watching in sub then you probably didn't have this issue. Censorship which I'll take about more in the next category does kind of hurt certain characters because it does take away the presentation of how brutal this character was meant to be portrayed when it a scene is completely changed for censorship purposes. Enjoyment (4/10) Bad My enjoyment like I said ended when the anime opening ended and that's a very bad thing to say. Like I said earlier and I can't stress this enough I can't remember off the top of my head any pivotal moment that was in the manga that I thought was amazing or hype done well to any degree in this adaptation within it's 39 episode run. It was either ruined by censorship, modified, CG or worse of all, all three all at the same time. This is what happens when a great Seinen manga is adapted by a company that can't and would go anywhere near the lengths that the manga did. You can tell they only grabbed this manga series to adapt because it was raising in popularity in Young Jump and just like Tokyo Ghoul which is also in Young Jump and has it's anime being adapted by Perriot is garbage thanks for ruining my enjoyment once again Perriot. Overall (6/10) Fine i guess but for me still disappointing I rated the manga a 9.65/10 and ranked it in my top 5 favorite manga of all time, I love the Kingdom manga it's phenomenal please go read it. This Season 2 ended right before what people consider the best arc in the series (at the time) and to be honest thank god that didn't adapt it because I don't think I can watch one of my favorite manga series be turn to shit anymore than I already have. Going from a 9.65/10 to a 6.00/10 is a massive drop and should say more than just something. And to be honest giving this anime a 6.00/10 is being massively generous because I know if you haven't read the manga but have watched this anime you probably fairly enjoyed this garbage because you have no clue why the manga is rated as high as it is on this site, just like how I have no clue how this anime adaptation can muster over an 8.00/10 on this site. Is it better than Season 1? Yeah but that's not saying much since season one is a steaming pile of doo-doo butter with only the music carrying it. Just go read the manga please, Studio Perriot go fuck yourself.

Boku no Hero Academia 3rd Season Review
Story (9/10) Great More Specifically (9.25/10) Great The pacing and the story for this season of Boku no Hero Academia I felt was great, everything by Studio Bones was adapted either nigh perfectly or was a better execution of a scene than it's manga counter part which is was is ideal. My only nitpick is the filler that they tried to inject into the season, I did not care for the episodes as I felt it was just fluff that honestly was not needed. One can say "oh it didn't hurt the overall season though" and to that I say "I ... didn't hurt the overall season FOR YOU" for me if didn't make overall season better then leave it out. There was enough manga content to adapt for them not to have to put in said episodes regardless if it was a small amount or not I didn't like it, it wasn't required. It felt like they just wanted to reach that 25 episode count and put them in there. The filler wasn't horrible like I said I just felt it wasn't needed which is why I even ended up skipping what ever the most recent one was in the season. The only other thing from a story standpoint that I didn't necessarily like was the dialogue during the muscular fight scene which was controversial when that part came out in the manga and the mangaka even apologized for said scene saying something along the lines of "he could have written the dialogue in that scene better" which I thought he would have attempted to tell Studio Bones to change it but didn't oh well his decision and he's holding his L for it maturing and moving on. Art and Animation (10/10) Outstanding Studio Bones has proven themselves time and time again that they know how to put in the work when it comes to adapting a series and making sure it looks as good and authentic to it's manga counterpart as possible and the animation is probably going to be a huge factor on if I become an anime only watcher from here on out. They do an outstanding job oftenly outdoing what was adapted which like I said is ideal. Sound (10/10) Masterpiece I watch my Boku No Hero in sub so that's what this is section is referring to when it comes to the voice acting which I felt every character voice fit and the voice actors did a great job especially Deku's JP VA during the muscular fight. The music was on point and opening and ending songs I never skipped. Characters (9/10) More Specifically (9.25/10) The characters in Boku No Hero Academia are great, a decent amount of them we get further characterization and development from. With a series that has a lot of characters to focus on contentiously can be a very high maintenance effort to make sure that no character is left behind too much. Right now when it comes to that obviously some get far more shine than others and some are starting to hit the back burner to some degree but that's to be expected when you have a roster of characters of that amount that you try to keep into the spot light all somewhat equally. Right now I think the mangaka Kouhei is doing a great job. On the flip side where it's at right now is also dangerous because each character's character development (or lack there of) is on some sort of slope whether it's going upwards or downwards and if it continues to be handled the way it's handle characters will definitely be left behind which sometimes is to be expected but not an excuse. Because if you once started off giving basically all of them attention this can alienate a reader/watcher if their favorite character you once focus on is no longer in the spot light they used to be in this can cause fans to leave the series which isn't something I assume he wants. Enjoyment (9/10) Great I enjoyed this season greatly and like I said multiple times in this review it's has outdone it's manga counterpart which is ideal, that's something you always want. The only thing like I said bothered me was the filler because I personally felt it was not required but injected in because they wanted to reach that 25 episode count and if that's the main reason that's not a good reason to me. I didn't care to much for the final arc in the season it wasn't too interesting or that entertaining to me personally and I did fall off for about 3 weeks behind because of it but that's not the anime's fault since I wasn't really feeling the arc in the manga when I was reading it also. Other than that overall I still greatly enjoyed watching the 3rd season more than any season before it. Overall (9/10) Great More Specifically (9.50/10) Great+ This is the best season of Boku No Hero Academia thus far and hopefully the next season keeps the pace, hype and quality that this one brought. Studio Bones did a great job and now has me considering if I should go continue reading the manga like I was doing (since the second the last's episode's first half is where I stopped reading in the the manga about a year ago) or if I should just wait for their superior version because that's where I'm at with Attack on Titan and that's not a bad thing at all it's ideal.
