Besides the art, this is a solid mess. The movie starts off being pretty decent but the plot is just all over the place. The characters are constantly jumping from one end to the other over and over again. It would have been better if this was a show instead but even then, the final result of the unfolding of this story would have still been an absolute mess if the destination was the same. I mean, it's just another shounen ain't it? It's not bad but not great. It's just fine.
It has all the tropes you've seen before. From power scaling to traditional character archetypes, although it's a bit more edgy than more common shounen. None of the characters were intriguing to me. Beck was an up-and-down rollercoaster for me. Some moments feel like a 9 out of 10 and some moments feel like a 5 out of 10.

After Oyasumi Punpun this might be my favorite Inio Asano work. This is a collection of One-shots and each one of them could easily be a story. Not sure if he developed some of these into later works but every time I finished one of them it left me wanting more. I don't even know where to start. I guess with the good aspects. Ren is super cute and aesthetically pleasing to look at. Some jokes are actually funny at times.
