I apologize in advance for how long this will be. :v

I disagree with your assessment of their intent. I took it as a clear parody and satire. It's too self-aware to not know what it's doing.

Second, "Saitama is some random OP ass who has strenght to defeat anyone with one punch. How he has it? Why he has it? What he did to gain it and why, what he wants to do with it? "

"How he has it? Why he has it? What he did to gain it and why"

It's explained in episode 3 that he did standard strength training (100 push ups, 100 km run, 100 sit-ups) every day for 3 years, which is what caused his hair to fall out. If I remember right, he just did it to get stronger. His motivation isn't very clever, but everything else I listed was made to be comedic. So they did explain how he got it and why he has it, what he did to gain it, and why. To me, the explanation was hilarious. The fact that he's just some random dude who got stronger, lost his hair, and became so powerful that he's bored of fighting is funny to me because it's the exact opposite of what you would get in Naruto or something. In Naruto, Naruto wants to be stronger so he can become Hokage and make people stop hating him. That's a standard character motivation. In One Punch Man, Saitama is, as you said, just some random dude who wanted to get stronger just because he can. To me that's funny. Which is the intent. If you don't find it funny that's fine, but the explanation and motivation for Saitama is certainly there.

Lastly, I said that "I'm not trying to call you a shithead or anything" because I literally didn't want you thinking I was insulting you for disagreeing with your review. You did not display your arguments in an unbiased manner for those who hadn't seen it. You just expressed in an overly emotional manner why you didn't like it. A review is, by definition, "a formal assessment or examination of something with the possibility or intention of instituting change if necessary."
Note the word formal. Formal is, of course "done in accordance with rules of convention or etiquette; suitable for or constituting an official or important situation or occasion." If you had gone into more detail and thoroughly explained what problems you had with the plot outside of "unoriginal" and "random violence with no plot", I probably wouldn't be as bothered. But you did not. You also didn't say anything about the music or art.

Again, I do not hate you nor did I intend to insult you. And If I did inadvertently, I apologize. But I love reading and writing reviews, and I couldn't allow myself to sit back and let that review fly. Sorry if that seems silly, but that's how I am.

That's fantastic. That's your opinion and that's fine. But "I hated that shit you call anime. It has great art and no original character or any plot at all." is a weak argument. Originality isn't present in many things that you like, according to your list. Code Geass for example, stole tons from Evangelion and Death Note. It is not original in the slightest, just like most stories. Naruto steals tons from Hunter x Hunter, from the characters down to the story structure. Doesn't bother you though, does it? Because you like it. You like the way they did it. All fiction is derivative of influences or other works. Everything borrows from something else. That's why you should work harder to form deeper arguments and understand the intention of the show you're watching. One Punch Man is not supposed to be original or thought-provoking. It's a comedy. It takes the piss out of tropes for comedic effect. That's what I'm getting at. You saying it has no originality or no characters or no plot isn't very compelling because it isn't supposed to be any of those things. If you want to make those arguments, you should put more thought into them.

If you want to say One Punch Man is shit, that's fine. I'm fine with that. You're entitled to that opinion. But if you're going to go around parading how supposedly shitty is without an even remotely decent or thought-provoking argument to back it up, you can expect people to call you out on it.

And furthermore, curb your antagonism. As I stated earlier, I have no intention of insulting you as a person. I'm expressing disagreement with your actions and words.
Buuubbblesss Feb 7, 2016 9:37 AM
My my, so defensive. You didn't listen to a word I said. Fine, have it your way. All I ask is that you argue with your brain and not your emotions next time. Cya.
Buuubbblesss Feb 6, 2016 8:25 AM
Sorry, but I'm going to have to mirror the other commenters and say that your One Punch Man review is absolutely terrible. You completely missed the point of the show, reviewed it with a massive emotional bias that blinded you from seeing it objectively, and your review was devoid of any meaningful criticism. It was very bad and I hope you put more thought into the next one you write, if you write it.

I'm not trying to call you a shithead or anything, but the point of a review is to give an unbiased overview of a production for people who haven't seen it. And you completely failed at doing that.

Also, OPM didn't steal any of the tropes you associated it with. Every single one of those tropes existed before Naruto, Bleach, Darker than Black, etc. One Punch Man was parodying those elements for comedic purposes. The sole intent of them being there was to satirize them as tropes. That was the entire point.

Ne, pronašao sam te preko tog review-a, a vidim da si iz Hrvatske pa nema potrebe da se sporazumevamo na engleskom. :)

Dobar ti review za OPM. xD

Naruto and Bleach suck. Death Note is pretty dope though
lawlmartz Jan 15, 2016 6:00 AM
I don't think there was any thought process behind the creation of one joke man. It's just bad. Bad comedic timing, bad direction, unfunny, etc. The only redeeming factor, and I think the main draw, was that it was flashily animated. It's pretty well a given that if something looks nice, even if it's a piece of crap wrapped in aluminum foil, people will still eat it up. It's funny because people hated on Ninja Slayer for doing the exact same thing one joke man did. Look at its score and look at opm. Mhmmmmmmm

@subarashie nice cringey one liner

How lame are you guys for coming to attack a person for negatively reviewing a show? You guys are a perfect example of cancerous fanboys every non-anime person is talking about.
YEROCKY Jan 15, 2016 12:23 AM
So much hate just for an opinion.
smh
