Hi, I'm Sean. I enjoy animation a lot, both western and Japanese, and I believe that it's somewhat of an under-appreciated art form. When it comes to characters, I love seeing them grow as though they were real people, and being able to relate to and become attached to them. I'm a big fan of deeper/more serious shows, but I'm definitely not averse to a good time either.

By "what we were promised", I take it you mean action like that of Masahiro Ando's other efforts like Canaan and Sword of the Stranger? That's a shame, but given how long this project was in development, I'd not expected much.

I agree. It was a steady stream of background info and involvement that didn't leave me overwhelmed with facts, but enough for me to understand each antagonist, and other characters throughout the show. The music, and even the animation had a big part on how the show was experienced. Gave it a relaxed, easy tone to the show. And of course, jazzy as hell! I've never seen something like it

For a show that was pretty much episodic, not once did I think that any of it was regurgitated material. Always brought something new with each episode! And the characters.. Ugh!! Loved them!! It was hard to figure out which one was my favorite, but I had to give it to Edward with the whole shrooming episode xD

And I'll agree with beaner with black lagoon dub. They actually did a good job with it. And you won't hear some awuful "Engrish" throughout the show
