Id actually give this manga an 8.5 and seriously, where are all the reviews for this work of art? To be honest though, I, myself only found it when doing the 2017 manga challenge and one of the requirements was to read a hidden gem. This manga is definitely a well hidden gem. I love shoujo manga with male protagonist because they are just so rare and I did not think I would stumble upon more of its species.
The story is pretty simple, the characters are older than high schoolers and in the work force, with Sekine being 30 and Sara, the woman, being who
...
knows how old, possibly 23-25. Sekine is the male embodiment of the "cool perfection" archetype and Sara is the "happy go lucky". Sekine is a yes man doing whatever he is told because rejecting is too troublesome and most of the time just does not care doing extra work/being used. He lacks will, an ability to love, and hobbies and upon realizing that, on a whim decided to pick up a knitting hobby. He meets an old dude in a crafts shop and let the curtains rise on Sara, the shop owner whom he falls in love with. Spoiler not spoiler since there arent many other characters listed who could add to the romance genre this manga is listed as. So yeah, in short it is about an unhappy guy finding love.
I really enjoyed Sekine's character, he is a fairly unique character and it was fun exploring the enigma of his mentality. He did not have the best experiences with women since young, seeming to have a few traumatic experiences which stems from his inability to refuse. It doesnt go into detail with them, showing only some memory fragments here and there but I would believe he doesnt think too fondly of them. He is actually quite emotional, being quick to tear up which is really cute.
The art is hella nice btw. Sekine is finnneeee, especially young Sekine and non-megane Sekine. There are tons of knit items and strings in the manga which prob took a long time to draw. Props on that.
So yes, in conclusion i thoughly enjoyed this manga and hope more people will discover this diamond in the rough

Hmm...how should i say this... This manga is a...confusing manga to review.
The story starts off with this comedic hyped up prologue that consists of the intro of 7 characters. Immediately I thought it will be a comedic vingette revolving around the 7 because the summary mentions the "red strings of fate" that connects them. The second prologue chapter dives deeper with this concept, giving a sneak peak of what the manga was like. I was actually pretty hyped up about reading the manga, it seemed interesting and unique since I like manga that focuses on a range of characters instead of just the couple
...
protagonists. However that came crashing down when I realize it wasn't actually like that. I guess the mangaka changed her mind or something because the actual manga turned out to be totally different. It turned out to be more like your typical rom-com shoujo manga with two protagonists and their best friends who adds to the story when only when convenient and nothing to do with a connecting string of fate. Basically, of the 7, 2 are main, 2 are semi-main, but really do not add much to story at all (i guess they are actually side characters then?), 1 pops up during the beginning and middle as a love rival, and then randomly appears at the end just to tie the characters up to the finale, 1 hardly even appears, only showing up around 5 times maybe for brief moments, and the last character of the supposed 7 didnt even make an appearance at all.
The characters are all right, its hard to find characters that break out of the shoujo characters archetypes. This manga's characters does a pretty ok job at trying to break out of them. For one, the main guy has light hair instead if dark lol. He would most resemble the "flashy-playboy-turned-loyal" type, however he wasnt a playboy at all really. Although he teases the main girl a lot, like how most of the main males act, he is way more chill than most, being happy-go-lucky rather than sadistic. The main girl would be the tsundere type and although she cried a bunch, its an upgrade from the submissive crybaby type that dominates the heroine role of shoujo manga. The others didn't make much appearance to really judge but they are alright, following an archetype with some differences.
The art was pretty good. I liked the character designs well enough and the proportions and facial expressions makes sense.
In all, to be honest, I was disappointed and kinda felt cheated because the manga wasnt what it was suppose to be like at all. Not so say what the manga actually was is bad, because it's not. Its a pretty decent rom-com shoujo and I would still recommend even though its not like the summary description. I guess its fine if you skip the prologue chapters?

In actuality i would rate this manga a 5.5 but decimals arent allowed
The story isn't awful, i guess if you are a shojou manga fanatic and love any shoujo manga, this manga would be alright, maybe a 6 or even a 7. But as someone who has read hundreds of shoujo manga, this falls below average. It is very dull despite attempts to make it other wise. A girl who feels like throwing up every time she encounters beauty? Not amazingly unoriginal but still uncommon. However everything else is just as cliche as it could get.
The characters are unreasonable and just as tacky. Makoto
...
especially. She is the typical naive protagonist who spends 25% of the time being some sort of clueless but kind angelic figure that everyone in the story likes, 25% of the time crying, and the other 50% stirring up unnecessary conflicts due to misunderstandings or illogical thoughts. The main dude is just as cliche, a dark haired "arrogant wild child" who is actually a sweetheart when softened by main girl. There is absolutely nothing new from the main characters to the side characters who plays a strictly extra role.
The art is below average with the proportions being just cringey, not much improvement happens throughout the manga and towards the end, they still have these weird wide pentagon faces.
So yeah to sum up, the manga is extremely dull and cliche, unless you want a very basic shoujo that doesnt even execute clicheness in an entertaining fashion, i would try looking for something else to read.

How far will science go and will it ever surpass humanity? Can a robot start to feel emotions after being so much like humans?
3 Level Combination is a psychological sci-fi set in a dystopian future, where robots act more humane than humans themselves.
My first thought at the art was eww, it was not the same high class style as a work by the same manhwaka i've previously read. However, the more I've read, the more the style seems to fit the story. The art is an old fashioned type of syle in comparaion to some of the newer style of other manga in its
...
time of creation. The old art style seems to act as irony to the futuristic setting of the manga.
The characters are easily understandable and relatable with common archetypes like the innocent and kind dude, silent bookworm, guy who loses himself to fit into society, the bullies, the bystanders, a mad scientist, the money-over-everything tycoon, etc.
i had throughly enjoy this manga and was quite shocked to see the kind of low rating. It was understandable and a work i easily was able to become sympathetic to.

In ahort, Kirai is a pretty decent manga if you want a mature romance manga that is not really unnecessarily smutty (although sex does play a large role)
The story is pretty basic, playboy who cannot love or trust women and a strict tsundere-esque girl who hates him however over time, they fall in love. Oh yeah, and their parents remarried to each other.nothing particularly new or unique. The story does continue past high school onto college which is a plus for me since that's not as common and makes the story more mature and reasonable.
The art, is not that great, its definitely old style, which
...
I am ok with, however proportions/anatomy and expressions are not always drawn the best and sometimes the characters look awkward.
The characters while not bad, are not outstanding or super lovable either. None particularly stood out nor did I really hold any favoritism towards any, which I guess is a good thing for this manga. Both the main characters did not act well, starting from Hanada, and then Sakura's response to his actions setting the whole drama that happens during the second half (sorry its vague, trying to keep this spoiler free here). Not holding any favoritism towards either, I was able to sympathize with both objectively. However, as one of the other reviews mention, some ideas or concept are quite outdated and even though it is somewhat more understandable because of the beliefs/ignorance of the time it was created, it still does not make it ok. One of the conflicts that happened with Sakura when resolved was turned into a comedic scene when it is a serious matter. Also Hanada is contradictory. My main problem with Hanada is that he sometimes does not hold Sakura to the same standards he is held to, the stuff he is allowed to do, Sakura wasn't, and he never felt any remorse or regret towards his actions towards the girls he played, even if the girls' love are superficial. It is as if he is allowed to hurt others' feeling but people are not allowed to hurt his.
Overall, I did enjoy it enough. I would recommend if you want a mature romance but would not recommend it above any others that are similar to it.

Of all the ero marchen, this one is my favorite
The one most developed in terms of story will have to be the little mermaid one but this one is the funniest
I really love the take on red riding hood, making her family a gang
I really sould give this a 7.5 if i could because it is hilarious but it is not 8 quality so i, rounding down
The art like all the other works is great the characters are also interesting although J was not a major character in this one... Oh well.
Recommend this and little mermaid if interested the rest are kinda meh

I started reading this thinking im gonna just read some sligth smut story to kill time. It was not a slight smut story.
I like a nice mix of story and smut, more on story side. When i first began reading I was like "ugh what is this trash?" It started off as smut from the first page and the summary was just screaming smut. it seemed like one of those manga that i call "a smut with the plot of a hentai" in other words a lot of explicit erotic scenes that are not far away from low key hentai level and little to no
...
story. And it seemed like it would continue like that. The only reason i kept reading was that i loved the art which i would give a 9/10, other than that i didnt care too much about the story and contemplated just finishing it for the hell of it or to just quit. I choose the latter. Which led to shocking developements.
Characters develop more personality, you get to understand and sympathsize with them and their conflicts. Not to mention, Abel was hella fine.
The story actually takes a twist and evolves to more than just a smut fest. Dramatic story twists occured, keeping me hooked at the intriguing and dark plot twis. in the end, i can honestly say i enjoyed the series, thank you J.
Note: there are other erotic fairy tales if you want to read that came before this where J appears in all. I did not really know they are very loosely connected by this reoccuring character and read this first, this is the latest or last of the erotic tales

While the manga is not all that original itself, many factors set it apart from your typical shoujo manga.
First:
This is a sequel to another manga which had less of a concise storyline but did help shape the characters to who they are and had set the mood for the sequel (which can be considered the "main/real" story). The author did a beautiful job connecting the two stories with the prequel being the "why" to the sequel.
Second (also the character review):
Being the sequel, the main characters are already well developed and here the characters just develop even more as they realize how, much they changed
...
from the prequel and how much they were influenced by the others.
Tsubaki (main guy) is basically your generic Mr. Popular School Idol guy with the cold sadistic personality but is actually really warm and sweet. What is different however is that he accepts Naedoko (main girl) for who she is, which is why this manga is a favorite of mine. Naedoko does not change throughout the entire series. She is that loner plain glasses girl that nobody really knows. Unlike every other shoujo manga I've read (which is quite a lot) she pretty much remained like that. There is no miracle make-over that turned the ugly duckling to a beautiful swan that captures the heart of the prince, none of that over cliched archetype, no Naedoko remained a plain "megane-ko" and Tsubaki accepts that.
Another reason this manga is a favorite, and why Naedoko is a favorite original is that she is one of the very rare strong independent woman character. Yes, she relies a lot on Tsubaki for advice and a push, but she solves her problem on her own, does not take bs from anyone, is calculative and manipulative, and does not show submissiveness. If you believe in girl power, this is your girl.
The art is nice, kind of typical. Its drawn well but not anything new, although I did notice a few errors like a sudden seat change in a scene.
That basically concludes the review that is longer than it has to be. Obviously with the high rating, i enjoyed it. And yes i recommend it 10/10 (im really bad at conclusions so just let it slide at that)

I could've sworn that the author of Liar Game was the same as Death Note when I glanced at the front cover's style. It was not. And frankly, I'm glad because as much as I like psychology, I couldn't get through with Death Note because I disliked Light so much.
Liar Game was much more in tune with my likings. The story was pretty unique and was full of twists and turns. Usually I like to hypothesize and come up with a theory of how it's going to end on my own, but the characters' thought process is so far advanced that I just couldn't
...
catch up at all and had to wait for the explanations. The manga completely tore down my confidence in guessing the outcome. Only thing I can say is that good thing I was not in the Liar Game or I would have lost with a debt that beats everyone else's debt in the manga.
The art was pretty meh, it's nothing glamorous but not the worst thing out there. And while I am not a fan of it, I admit that it gives the manga a nice psychological gothic feel.
I hated Nao Kanzaki at first, she was stupid, a crybaby, gullible to a fault, the type of girl that was detestable. However, she developed and good thing she did or I would have dropped it. She still is pretty naive in the end but is no longer a crybaby and is much stronger. The real star of the manga in my opinion though, was Akiyama. He is a boy genius with an IQ of over 9000 and manages to be comical at times with his nonchalance and constant trolling. Another honorable mention is one of my favorite characters in the manga, Fukunaga. Avoiding gender pronouns here, I will just say the name. Fukunaga started out selfish and money hungry and ended as a lovable character who also brings comedy to the table.
I enjoyed the manga a lot but there are two things which unsettled me, both which can be disagreeable. One, the ending, Im not going to spoil it but the ending seems kinda a letdown. I read 201 chapters and the ending was just like "wait...what....thats it?" It just seems like a not good enough excuse for the whole mess of the Liar Game and I find it hard to believe the players were not even angry. The second disappointment, and a disagreeable one to many is the wish for romance in it. I seriously wish for some romantic development between Aliyama and Kanzaki with Yokoya as a hinted love rival being the shoujo manga obsessed fool I was. However, there was hardly even a smidge of romance, only two times Akiyama made Nao blushed, and that was all. In the end i was left to produce mental fanfictions between the characters as I read.

This is one of the most artistic series I've read and also one of the most meaningful. Anyone who thinks comics do not count as real literature should think twice after reading this. The story is throughly impactful and there is a very clear overall message as well as many symbolisms.
The artstyle is very simplistic yet detailed, much like how many modern comics are drawn. Usually I read webtoons for the color but the minimalistic usage of color in this manga really makes what is important pop. I love how Il and his parents are drawn in that certain way and then much
...
later is Il finally drawn "normally". I believe it symbolizes the prideful, confident, and superior feeling they get for being top tier and model adults, like a sort of proud with a long face, not in a sad way (but maybe so actually), more in a way like political cartoons.
Speaking of him lets get into the characters, i dont feel that the main girl developed as much as i would have liked and the magician was trippy character however there definitely was develope, ent within the two. You could see Il and Ai changing but the real impact made for them and the magician was the very end.
