**Minor/Minimal Spoilers Review**
In the season of the blossoming of trees and flowers, back to life! We got a little spring surprise from studio Ufotable, famous for their type-moon adaptations like the Fate series (or others like God Eater, Tales series...etc) with their great in-house staff and amazing compositing team, as they bring you Kimetsu no Yaiba! an adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge's second manga with the same name.
A decent addition to the compact anime year of 2019!
But without further ado!
_LETS GET RIIIIGHT INTO THE REVIEWWWW!
...
>> Story >> 6/10
Here as we start with KnY's weakest point, the story, it is "fine", it is not garbage like some say, and it is not really a masterpiece like some people claim it is...
For me personally it was painful to try liking it, KnY has a lot of strong points but it extremely lacked in giving an imaginative/creative story, it just seems like the basic boring revenge-ish Shounen story of the protagonist losing his family and starting to hunt/track the person that did it, and that person ending-up to be one of the strongest if not the strongest final "villain" of the story, but scrubbing off the revenge factor for most of the story ... how original...
BUT, that doesn't mean the story itself is COMPLETELY boring, the narrative moves quite smoothly, there are even some surprisingly good moments in the story that are adapted really well thanks to the great pacing early on, and the impressive storyboarding.
Still, it really doesn't help that much if the base structure of the story is nothing special, even quite tedious at times and very predictable...
>> Art/ Animation >> 9/10
Animation/Art, the thing that almost every fan praises when talking about KnY, as someone who spent almost 50% of his life talking about animation, is it great? HELL YEAH!... But is it ground-breaking or unique, not really at all, it is still really great for a 26 episodes anime...
With studio Ufotable we also get the treat that is their contract in-house animators and affiliated freelancers to the studio, and there are a lot of amazing talents in there.
A few to note, are the amazing and probably my favorite animator at Ufotable, of course I'm talking about Nozomu Abe, the person that brought you the two explosive full-of-effects kills of Zenitsu from episodes #12 and #17, and the really praised end-cut fight scene of Tanjirou in episode #19.
And we can't mention KnY's animation without talking about the man behind a lot of the big KnY confrontation, we are talking about Masayuki Kunihiro, with his sexy smears and very noticeable effects and timming, he was behind Tanjirou vs Inosuke in episode #14, which honestly surprised me of how great it moved compare to the usual fucus on art and very corrected key-frames, that fight was fairly loose with only a few stiff cuts, probably doe to that episode's storyboard. But Masayuki also did the water and fire dragon cuts in #19, the long sword cut in #07, a big chunk of the Sabito vs Tanjirou cuts in #03... and a lot more ect.
Also others like Mitsuru Obunai with his great first demon fight in #02, and thanks to all the in-house Ufotable animators that did their best and all the directors, storyboarders that gave impact to some minor scenes, and the in-betweeners and 2nd key-animators for the consistency.
BUT THE BIGGEST OF THANKS GOES TO the amazing Ufotable compositing team that brings every scene with great colors and energy, honestly I feel like the compositing teams are always forgot about, without the compositing the show wouldn't have even looked 40% as good as it does.
....
But going to the negatives that brought the score down a little, the extreme overusing of CG, rotoscoping is fine but using straight-up CG models for important scenes without even tracing over them is really jarring, fine, but the lack of background animation in this kills me, the use of 3D backgrounds, 3D camera movements and effects are overdone, some are great and creative like the use of them in episodes #12 and #13, but some are not so great, you can spot them all over, tho the 3D backgrounds can be used to convey space very well, it is a double-edged sword...
But coming back to the designs, the designs themselves aren't bad, they are decent and very animation friendly and vertacile, I don't dislike them personally, tho, one thing I really love about them is the line-art, it seems cool looking, and overall the design choices in the anime are very creative in a lot of stuff later on, especially I love the masks and cloths that some characters wear, a bit of fresh air...
But in all honesty, the compositing is really helping this show keep consistency, plus the corrections by the animation directors/episode supervisors...
The problem is, people seem to not really know the difference between art and animation, or really great compositing, they kinda of just ignore factual information and just come-up with crap...
Overall I'm not disappointed, I expected more, knowing the staff involved early on, but it is still great nonetheless especially with that really healthy schudule, but I really hoped for a more unique take on the style.
>> Sound/ Music >> 8/10
This point is surprisingly unique, sound effects-wise, it was really good, nothing out of the ordinary but quite unique, caught me off guard sometimes even, sounds like slashing and sparks seem decent enough, and a few sounds that flow with some demons powers are really good.
Musicly, it was alright, there was only one Opening and Ending, and only one insert song, the Opening by Lisa was great and hype indosing, and the ending is good too it got even stuck in my head for a while.
Tho, the music itself by Shiina Go, which is one of my favorites, the music by him for God Eater was nothing less than amazing, tho he worked with Yuki Kajiura, which her influence on the soundtrack seems a lot stronger than Shiina's, her music choices seem very similar to that of Fate/Zero or SAO even, but I guess it wasn't that memorable to me, sorry, BUT, there are a few tracks that really caught me off guard, I feel like the thing that KnY lacks the most musically is a bit more subtlety, it feels very rock-ish and the vocals are very distracting to me, beside silence, very subtle music helps with making a scene impactful, kinda like the piano track that I liked a lot in episode #23 with Nezuko but that episode was mainly one of my favorites because of the storyboard.
At the end the music was decent, but you may like it more than I did, it did give the show a unique almost old-timey Japanese demon stories feel to it, which I guess fits well.
>> Characters >> 7/10
Here is the thing that saved but also hurt the series in my opinion, characters, the main cast seems straight forward, but they are still great, well-developed and relatable even if they lack creative construction, you got the determined, polite and passionate Tanjirou, the basic shounen MC formula, tho, he does get a little bit more interesting later on. We also got Zenitsu, the loud, pervy and scaredy-pants that actually was quite annoying at first, but I actually grew to like him, he is quite quirky with a not half-bad characterization. But here comes my favorite character in the show so far, Boar-boy also known as Inosuke, the dude reeeeally likes YEEET'ing, jk jk, but I really like him, he seems very unique and from what I heard from manga readers, his character really gets the development it deserves later on...
A lot of the pillars and villains are fairly distinctive too, even while retaining a lot of cliche Shounen characteristics, they do seem fresh and may get better as the series goes on, you gotta consider that as this is only the first season of KnY.
Tho, outside of that, lets get into the negatives, the villains are horrible... I'm not even joking... No foreshadowing, no early characterization or narrative building, not even a little of it... Outside of the main villain Kibutsuji Muzan that we don't know much about beside him being the first and strongest demon that turned Nezuko, all the other villains were a combination of boring and predictable, some were interesting but indeed up being wasted potential, sympathetic villains are important to a story, but when almost every villain is sympathetic, and not even done well, the story becomes predictable and the villains lose all their impact on the narrative...
I really hope KnY gets better on this aspect, It is one of the main things that limited my enjoyment of the series, I'm still an anime-only so I don't know what is coming...
>> Enjoyment >> 8/10
I really enjoyed the series, especially after the other characters got introduced, it was fairly fun excluding some very cringy dialogues and story routes, I especially like the comedy, some episodes were straight-up wholesome and hilarious, it is definitely a really good anime for people new to the industry or that don't know much about anime, the story is straight forward and the fight scenes are great.
>> Overall >> 7/10
Overall, it was decent and enjoyable throughout, if you're looking for a unique and interesting experience in a Shounen, this show is not it, but if you're looking to have some fun and watch an anime with your friends and family, then this is it.
I may have been harsh on it, probably for the reason of how much it was over-hyped, some people even said it should be AOTY... That really made me chuckle...
But in all seriousness, this has potential, a lot of it at that, it may get much much better if the potential is used cleverly by the author, for that I don't know, a season 2 is in most definitely coming, this was a huge hit that it even trended on Twitter...
I did like it, and I hope it gets somehow better and successeds in what it is trying to do in all respect.
**In conclusion, I hope the review was helpful to you in a way or another, sorry if I missed some points, I'm busy in college, so I just wrote this quite quick to just show how I feel about the show overall...
Thanks for putting time and reading my lazy review xD
Farewell, mate.

Yo! It is me again, you may be asking "HEY!! OSAMA! Why are you reviewing Kill La Kill right now of all times ?... Welp, firstly because I finally re-watched it and realized how much of a fool I was when I first watched it xD, and secondly Kill La Kill finally got a game (Kill La Kill IF) so I've decided to give it a shot again...
--ANYWAY, This review will be fairly simplistic, not too much dankness, not too many words.
++This review will also not include any spoilers that will ruin your experience, it is simply a review of how my opinion changed about
...
the series...
__SO! LETS GET RIIIIGHT INTO THE REVIEWWWW!!!!!!!!
>> Story >> 8/10
The story of KLK is pretty simple with the good old generic revenge story, but forgetting that, in many ways the story itself has different deeper meanings that you should spend time exploring on your own, but for the base of it, it is a story about clothing that has super powers because it is made of something named life fibers, and clothing made entirely from life fibers is called Kamui (神衣 God Robe) which is fairly op but not everyone can control it and it needs to consume your blood to work... The story gets a lot more complex later on with an info dump, it is confusing but quite unique and interesting in it's own way.
Tho, the story feels all over the place in the second half tho which may be my only big complain, when I watched it before I was quite young so I had a lot of problems with the fan-service, which now imo doesn't annoy me at all, but heck, I think after the first few episodes I didn't even care for the fan-service anymore I think Imaishi did a good job on balancing out stuff, but it still takes like 70% of the story, in a way KLK got me used to fan-service in a good way...
But the story overall definitely has a lot of moments that make you feel sad or extremely happy, and the ending was really decent, but I honestly mess the show now T_T
>> Art/ Animation >> 10/10
One of the main reasons I decided to give KLK another chance is after I became a "Sakuga-maniac"... And I think it was worth it.
The style is quite soft but rough, the framing is overall unique, same with the compositing, which definitely fits with the show overall, I find it great how well the CG is done overall, the fusion between 2D and 3D is done extremely well, which sometimes needs to be done for consistency and time's sake, but it is done fairly well that I didn't even notice it a few times in the second half of the series, plus the over-using of spark effects in the fights and henshin transformations was jarring at first, but after you get used to it, it almost becomes a staple mark of the series xD
The story-boarding is intriguing, you get hard cuts not for the sake of hard cuts, but for comedy's sake, in fights you have the snappy timings and angles and the weird yet interesting use of perspective, after all, this is Hiroyuki Imaishi we are talking about, the dude has a really long experience in this field, also his character designs are eye candy for a loose sakuga boy like me, it makes my eyes glitter like a school girl...
Anyway, animator's spotlight goes to my boys Takafumi Hori and Yoh Yoshinari, they did absolutely fantastic cuts, not mentioning them would be a crime towards every animation fan, seeing them working in loose designs like these is like a dream come true, especially Takafumi, his background animation is just nuts, they are both mad-lads, I recommend checking them out...
But we shouldn't forget all the great other animators that contributed overall, from the Trigger in-house staff to Yuuto Kaneko, Toshiyuki Sato, Masahito Yamashita and mr Hiroyuki Imaishi himself, the substance of this show is nothing less than breathtaking...
The only complaint I would give is a slight quality drop somewhere close to the final, that most people won't probably notice, but it happens to most 25 episodes anime, plus it wasn't that drastic, it picked itself together in the end.
>> Sound/ Music >> 9/10
The anime is dubbed and subbed, but I would recommend the sub any day, the dialogue changes in the dub are too noticeable and they don't fit well, plus the dub acting is too cringy sometimes... The sub is absolutely well done , the VAs did and absolutely great job in portraying the characters...
Outside of that, both the openings and endings are decent, I prefer opening 2 and ending 1 tho, there is also an insert song from Eir Aoi who did the first opening...
But most of the soundtrack is obviously from my boy the legend Hiroyuki Sawano [nZk], the soundtrack is not one of his best, but it is still fantastic, I absolutely love Sawano, but I can't give this 10/10, because of two big nitpicks that bugged me through out the show, the first one is the lack of soundtracks, there is a decent amount, but secondly it is not used well, especially with Iwanami the sound director, I feel some tracks were over-used, and some rarely got used, like in the finally I was really disappointed that "I want to know" written by Benjamin and Sawano wasn't used for the *sad* moment in the final episode, lyrically it was perfect for that moment but it wasn't used for that scene, but it got used in other scenes but didn't fit well, but some vocal tracks were used well like "Sanbika" and "Blumenkranz",
And the overall the sound effects were decent!
>> Characters >> 9/10
Another really strong point of KLK that I only realized after watching it again is how good the characters are, they're not some overly complex or genre changing characters, they're quite generic in many ways, but they are mostly light-hearted fun characters, they may be generic but they are still interesting and fun to watch, so it is definitely a good thing that fits this show's themes, my favorite character were definitely Satsuki, Mako, my boy Aikurou, Sanageyama and of course Gamagori.
>> Enjoyment >> 9/10
My enjoyment was over the roof, I really had a lot of fun that I finished it in three days, I took really long because I kept pausing and replaying scenes, I love sakuga after all, and this anime had a lot of other stuff that I absolutely loved, it is like watching it for the first time because I didn't remember many things anyway...
>> Overall >> 9/10
This was not what I usually like, but I gave it a chance and I was quite surprised and started missing the show a little bit after finishing it... Unusual, but definitely a fun ride, beside a few nitpicks here and there I enjoyed the shit-out of this, you could even say it was a masterpiece in it's own special way, it is definitely not an anime for everyone, but if you could get over the fan-service you'll find heart, beauty and a little spark gem inside Kill La Kill...
If you decided to watch the anime, have fun,
Farewell friend.

My review only contains minor spoilers, but it's gonna take in account important subjects of this season's production, how it survived, and why it deserves a really high score, while giving it scores myself and summarizing some aspects of it, so enjoy, and hope you like the review and find it helpful to get you into the show.
*WARNING_MINOR_MEMES.exe"
_LETS GET RIGHT INTO THE REVIEWWWWWW!!!!!!!!.... jk jk
Anyway I will start with the first and second strongest subject for this season:
>> Story >> 8/10
The story of this season follows after the little political clash in part 1 which was a great setup for the retaking of Shinganshina, that
...
plays in an interesting and great pace, it feels like a chess game between Erwin and The Beast Titan, and I absolutely love it, but sadly that's not the reason I gave it a high score, the reason is the second half aka the flashbacks or in a better use of words, the memorization of Eren to Grisha's past and the truth of the basement as the bigger picture to something much bigger. Edians, Marley and Paradise Island, it all starts to mix up to give a taste of what's coming and fleshes out the story a little bit and gives it a deeper layered meaning, But I will let you adventure that on your own.
The reason I really love the story of this season, in reality it is really nothing but a mere setup for the next season which really is gonna be something I'll tell ya that mate, but it's really well adapted by Wit Studio, what really shines a freaking campfire inside my heart is how my man Isayama (The Mankaga) made the story in a certain way and construction that it connects to past events, he even foreshadows some stuff really early on, and it makes for great re-watchability of the older seasons, and definitely helps to flesh out the story in a great manner...
Now we're in my favorite subject as I am a damn Sakuga fanatic after all, but enter:
>> Art/ Animation >> 8/10
This season was obviously mostly supervised by one of my favorites Arifumi Imai as usual, a young talented animator that joined Wit Studio first with Guilty Crown somewhat around 2012/2011, but he isn't an in-house animator, he is still a freelancer, but most of his work is in Wit Studio. Enough of Imai, lets talk about the problems we had this season, most of you will notice a big drop in polish and clean-up in the animation itself, it was because of extreme schedule problems as usual, but it wasn't as bad as Season 1, it was only a problem because of the focus on other projects. But we still got a fantastic act, which obviously was Episode 5, we got Imai greatness with the beast titan vs Levi cut, and the Eren behind Colossal titan cut, but we also got massive talents, like the Mikasa conclusion cut with lightning spear through Reiner's mouth by Mitsuaki Takabe and Teiichi Kato, and the Scouts against Reiner round 2 by the young freelancer Tingmu Yang, but there are a lot of cuts like Kai's Bertholdt transformation cut and others that would take too much time to mentions xD, BUT remember this could of been so much better with a decent schedule... But I allow Wit Studio as they do at least deliver story-boarding-wise mainly because of Araki, but still really good, and episodes like 6, 9 and 10 were polished even without actual out of the ordinary Sakuga, but AoT generally goes with polished art over exaggerated movement, anyway (I still hoped Ebara did a cut this season... Sadly he didn't, such an underrated animator).
Wubba lubba dub dub! It has came to this xD, I am a little biased in this part, but it does deserve extreme praise and it's getting it dammit!:
>> Sound/ Music >> 10/10
Now hear me out dude! I AM basing this rating on Sawano, BUT STILL, the in-house Wit Studio sound producers are professional, and you can hear it in set pieces by yourself, they are really good, and deserving of the praise. And the other aspect is obviously voice acting, and the talent behind the AoT voices, we got Kaji, Daisuke Ono, Kamiya, Inoue, Ishikawa, Koyasu and many more, they are all talented people known in the industry, I like the dub, but it doesn't even compare to the beauty that is the AoT VA staff.
But of course, to anyone that remotely knows me, I LOVE Hiroyuki Sawano, so much that I own almost every damn album he ever produced... Yeah, I'm and extreme case... BUT ANYWAY, this soundtrack is beautiful and filled by many gems like Apple Seed, ətˈæk 0N tάɪtn, ShingekiNoKyojin, ThanksAT and other different rearrangements of other soundtracks... etc.
The AoT soundtrack is definitely unique music-wise because of the talented Sawano, and we are definitely lucky by having him on this awesome anime.
Long story short, IT'S AMAZING! and I refuse to rate it lower than 10, syck nibbbbbbbbbbba... sorry~
Here com th wey, the wey to tha queeeen and the characters so fill yyo eyes brodhars, cluck for tha queen *cluck* *cluck* *cluck*
>> Characters >> 9/10
I loooooove, how Isayama gone and done it with his characters, every dialogue this season matters and holds and emotional meaning between the characters, so I recommend to always pay attention to them, and first and foremost have fun, for me little dialogue depth like that makes me chuckle like a school girl *he he*, but anyway, characters like Levi, Erwin and Armin have importance this season, and they are actually characters and not empty none filled hotpockets... (weird flex but ok me)... And there are a lot of characters that come and go this season, but they are done well enough that they don't feel forced or incomplete, we know enough about them that they feel important or at least relevant.
But the thing that sold me on characters this season, is the growth that they gained (that's what she said), AND it well really affect their decisions on the future believe me (Eren will definitely get you by surprise next season lets just say that), but we've saw so much climactic and epic character moments for a big chunk of the characters this season that it really feels overwhelming in a good way, like the stuff with Armin, Erwin and Grisha were just *God damn delicious*, conclusion is, great character development done right can benefit the story by a landscape.
Yeeet ma nibbbba, this show is a THOT and a good one, it's thicC with content and attractive with that general babe directing:
>> Enjoyment >> 10/10
Do I really need to say anything out of the ordinary... WATCH THIS SHEEET BOY!, I ain't yo daddy, but I can tell ya that this shet is good and you'll at least enjoy it even if you are one of those "Anime Elitists".... Eh, well, ThAT's wHat I got To sAy Dawg!!.
But honestly, I really enjoyed this until the end, hope you are the same, I only got annoyed about a few polish quality drops cause I'M A B*TCH!!! or a Sakuga-daddy-boomer-nibba... or something like that.
'Have fun' is my message...
>> Overall >> 9/10
First of all I know this review is as trash as me, but at least I'm honest.
don't pick on me dammit, I did my best, I ain't no reviewer, where I live in North Africa is hard to be an anime fan, so I just wanted to be myself for once and do a straight forward review of my enjoyment and love for AoT even if I'm pretty lazy sometimes, plus, I refuse to be a professional, what do you think I'm a Faaaaaa-gure----- I meant figure, don't kill me admins pls I'm not trolling.
I hope you enjoyed the review, well at least 10% of it xD.
Lets all be friends, no matter how life tries to split us, we are all brothers and sisters, and lets enjoy anime and have fun as we should be, cheers.
>Sorry for any bad English+ I Hope the review wasn't too long+ I'm not trolling if it looks like it, I'm just being me (Even if nobody wants to see that xD). Hope you have a wonderful day/night odd person.
++And I got my favorite scene animated this season AND IT'SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS--- b*tch resting Levi expression at the beach, and long hair Eren... My life is almost complete...
BUT WE STILL NEED SEASON 4!! WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO EREN AND THE CREW!! FIND OUT ON THE NEXT SEASON OF SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh boy oh boy, here we at it again.
First of all this show isn't trash, eromanga-sensei is trash, umaru-chan is trash, but this show is different.
To begin i'll go in every aspect on this anime and i'll rate it (keep in mind, this is my opinion, anything i write is what I think about this show, if you have different opinion on it please for the love of god, at least watch the first 13 episodes and than complain).
Battle Of Gods Arc 7.3/10 (( Animation 5/10 --Story 9/10 --characters 8/10 ))
This first arc where we get
...
introduced to a new whole concept of ki (god ki) and the concept of multiverse.
the arc was really entertaining and had pretty good fight scene's and we got to see a new transformation (super saying god).
As a whole this arc was not bad at all.
Revival Of F Arc 3.5/10 (( Animation 5/10 --Story 4/10 --characters 2/10 ))
This arc was pretty boring, half of it was training, and the other half was the z fighters getting their asses wooped.
And than frieza AGAIN got resurrected, i don't need to say anything other than that, this arc was an asspull just for toei animation to get some budget back.
Universe 6 Arc 6/10 (( Animation 6/10 --Story 5/10 --chatacters 6/10 ))
This arc had the potential to be one of the best arcs in dbs, but it failed miserably, but we still got some pretty dope fights so i'm not complaining.
Future Trunks Arc 8.5/10 (( Animation 8/10 --Story 9/10 --characters 8/10 ))
this arc, was pretty freaking good, i did not expect that at all, first the begin the arc with an amazing episode were they introduce an awesome villain that seeks the destruction and the death of every human (and even gods and sayings), and showing us how edgy he is by killing random characters, but he still pretty good villain and we got to see universe 10 kai so yeah, and vegito was in the arc so win win.
Universe Survival arc 9/10 (( Animation 9/10 --Story 7/10 --characters 10/10 ))
at this point were i'm at (episode 115) this arc looks to be THE BEST dbs arc yet... ,This arc has phenomenal animation, awesome sound track, and cool new characters, and the development of frieza and other characters in this arc is just OMG this crap is amazing (trying not to curse)
i really love what they did in this arc with android 17, frieza, krillin, and master roshi ...
They really made a smile in my face on this episodes (104,105,106,107,108,109,110,111,112,113,114,115) from episode 109&110 aka the 1 hour special it's just getting better every episode animation wise, and story wise so let's hope for the best.
I'm not a big fan of this anime.
I watch this anime cause it's fun and enjoyable, so even if the power scaling is dumb sometimes it's still enjoyable.
if you looking for a really entertaining anime ,that have dope fights this is the anime for you, don't listen to haters and people who criticized this anime, just watch it and see for your self.
Hope the review was helpful for you if you just getting in to this anime :D.
(and sorry for my bad english, it's my fourth language, i still did not get the hang of it yet )
