I certainly did not expect this much quality from a short story, wow. I honestly think this is as good as a short story can get, genuinely!

When you think of short anime, you don't exactly expect something to be super engaging. These types of animation tend to go through its motions pretty quickly, telling a story in as rushed of a manner as possible (or not even telling a story at all). Semantic Error goes about it in another way: it bets on simplicity, and telling a whole story from just a quick glimpse into the world without needlessly rushing it. And ooohh boy, it ... delivers so much and more! Here you get pretty art, beautiful animation, great acting and a couple with instant chemistry. I can't praise it enough, so please go watch it right now!

Ishida to Asakura is certainly an anime, that's for sure lol.

This is yet another short anime centered around comedy, with quick jabs and lots of lowbrow humor. What I found pleasing about this one specifically is how consistent the "plot" was, considering that similar anime will often forget what's going on by episode 3. If looking at Ishida to Asakura from an objective lens, then yeah it's pretty bad, but not offensively bad mind you. It's an anime all about random situations bordering the surreal, focused entirely on a punchline or two per episode. It's just a stupid and quick (~24 minutes) watch that ... may get a laugh or two out of you. And if that's what you're looking for, definitely give it a shot :)

Hametsu no Mars is what you get when... I don't even know how this abomination was created. It's far past "bad", it's actually an incoherent mess of a shit show in the form of an anime. But despite all of that, I highly recommend that *everyone* watches it.

Everything about this anime is bad: from the terrible (and somewhat inexistant) character personalities, to the mess that I dare you to call a plot. It almost feels like everyone that had a part in the production either hated what they were creating or they did not care at all. Hametsu no ... Mars feels souless, as though they didn't try to create an actual story at all. But funny as it may be, I beg you to watch Hametsu no Mars. After going through the absolute worst of the worst, I started appreciating the mediocre anime. It almost feels too easy to call the seasonal bland anime "trash", but man once you watch Hametsu no Mars you truly understand what actual trash is. It's so bad, it can function as your personal gateway to anime nirvana. So please, give it a try and come be enlightened as well!

Petshop of Horrors is a quick watch with only 4 episodes, which can help overcome some of its flaws. If you're looking for a quick horror-esque show in the "mystical and mysterious shop" genre then sure, give it a try! It is fairly decent and well put together, but do not expect to be blown away.

There isn't a big overarching story here, we're only given a few independent tales about Count D's odd Petshop and each episode functions as its own parabole of sorts, touching on different moral subjects. They're pretty good for what they are, and the animation ... feels pretty fresh even today at 2023 (though finding a decent copy of this anime will prove to be troublesome). Count D is a mysterious but intriguing figure, and the anime can serve as a gateway for the manga in case you want even more of mister D. The Opening and Ending are really nice and memorable, which for me means bonus points! If you're bored and feel that nostalgia scratch, then Petshop of Horrors is something I'd personally recommend. It's not bad as many older anime tend to be, and the story is self contained enough that you don't need any previous knowledge to get invested into the story. It's quick and to the point, which for me also means bonus points! Overall I'd say that no matter who is watching it, there will be something to enjoy. So if you're in the mood for it, give it a try :)

Vatican Kiseki Chousakan is an "Agatha Christie"-esque story on crack. The mysteries, albeit interesting, will often have poor resolutions. But man, the plot on every arc goes bonkers and makes you wonder how they even came up with such a wild twist.

The anime itself looks pretty, I enjoyed watching the catholic imagery that would appear every now and then. This was complemented by the dramatic soundtrack that was a sort of orchestral music that would appear every now and then. It was a nice sensory experience! If not for the story that is not quite held to the same standard, ... it would be a quick recommendation from me. Without going into spoiler territory, the protagonists pretty much saved the from being a disaster, though. Although they’re written as the "ideal christians", they’re not perfect as each have their own flaws, which are actually explored in the story (albeit minimally).

Overall, it wasn’t that bad of an experience. If the vibe has got you interested, then sure check it out! But it's not something I'd personally recommend. If you're on the fence, maybe skip on this one. There are other anime out there that are more worthy of your time.

Friends-eater classroom is a complete mess of a manga. I would not recommend reading this at all. If you want to read it just because there are some gore scenes, skip it. There are other gore mangas that do it a lot better.

I was actually surprised to see that the manga subverted some expectations and had some twists to the usual clichés of the genre. I would have loved it a lot if the execution wasn't atrocious. The manga suffers from a weird pacing issue: even as the game progresses, you can't really sense a "progression" in the story. Characters behave the same ... way in game 15 as they did in game 3, and their reactions (or their lack of) makes them feel so unrealistic that it alienates the reader. The artist does a decent job on the art department, but that's all there is to it. Characters have a pretty generic look and the gore is ok but not enough to make it worth the read.

I definitely don't recommend reading it. Skip this one.
