Both based on school kids and supernatural survival games, which have the characters battling for their lives in weird, tense and dark scenarios. They both share the same atmosphere although they differ in the games themselves. Gantz revolves more around action based gun wielding fights, while Kamisama deals with the characters wit and their ability to decipher the 'rules' of each game using their physical strength. Never the less, the main characters must overcome their fears and in turn be courageous in order to survive the wacky games. The games both share the same weird but wonderful enemies, together you and the characters will be confused but entertained by the entities that they face. Finally, you never know what will happen to the main characters as they equally keep you second guessing and may have some shock results!

Both animated and directed by Production I.G. who give these movies great depth and insight into future political turmoil. They both share a very similar style, atmosphere, use of music and fantastic animation. Although the stories may differ, they together create the same feelings and deserve to be seen.

There are other great recommendations on these anime, so i just want to talk about their great use of music. Although they have different styles of music, both are very music centric, using it to mould the scenes and give a great sense atmosphere. Both are rightly praised on their music and they are used in similar ways which are accompanied by familiar settings. You will own both soundtracks before you know it.
