Thank you for accepting my friendship request, you have a beautiful profile, it was to be expected from an evangelion fan.
I had to add you because your a NGE fan ^^
Oh and I like to talk with you about stuff too ^^
Also on another note it's cool to see that you're enjoying Megalo Box so much, I definitely think it has a chance of being my AotS (my only concern is that the cyber-arm aspect might make it too silly to take seriously).
Still though, I love the aesthetic, the directing, the music, and Junk Dog. I think I'm definitely watching Ashita no Joe and Hajime no Ippo as soon as this show finishes! The only question is which one since they're both prety long LMAO.
Honestly, as much as I liked it, it didn't feel nearly as good as the Golden Age stuff. A grizzled badass going around killing monsters is cool and all, but it just doesn't do as much for me as much as large scale battles between nations, political intrigue, and tragedy of interpersonal relationships (Casca, Guts, and Griffith) like in the Golden Age arc.
I just completed the Berserk 1997 series and I'm shaken to my core. I thought after seeing Evangelion I wouldn't see another masterpiece for a while, but here I am, less than a month later. This show is now my fourth favorite anime of all time.
Listening to the godly OST now, and I can't wait to begin the manga!
I won't lie, I'm a little crushingly disappointed. Not bad, but not exactly good either. The directing is too bland and the show just feels like a FLCL-fied K-On! I guess it had some good things going for it though.
i feel like there is a reason why kirie, the main character, didnt end up dying or being fucked up in the story
there are other people as well who didnt get affected that much by what is happening compared to other fucked up people
or am i overthinking this?
i think kierie is simple person who want simple stuff and she is satisfied(edited)
it kind of ironic cause her character is not that complex hehe
well
overall the story was good experience. i wanted to hate it tbh, i couldnt.
it just draws me.
it is like spiral.
it is weird experience.
and i am glad that i read it
i wish i am more aware of why i like it
i feel like i still dont understand my feelings about it
I usually like to read a manga after I'm done watching the anime since I'm worried that reading the manga will make me lose motivation to watch the anime in the first place, that's why I'm watching Berserk (1997) so I can start to read Berserk immediately afterwards :)
Still, it was fun. The music, and a lot of the good fights (like against Grimmjow, Ulquiorra, and Aizen) made up for it.
How was the 1000 Year War Arc in the manga or whatever its called? I heard it got...mixed reviews.
it started out intersting after 2-3 epsiodes
like oh they have this character with bland personality that want to understand other people
like she is a robot or alien
and she interact with others and make mistalkes
i liked that
she developed a little bit
it was slow and good
then
sigh
it becomes something else
i dont want to go into deltils
but i feel like the creators are trying too hard
to make the character relatable to other character she interact with in every ep
so this is the structure of the show:
in every episode she interact with new character. she learn from them and relate to them. the new characters learn from her and see stuff from another perspective because she feels pure and honest.
thats cool concept if done right
i didnt explain my issues
i just said why i like it
or why i had expectations for it
here comes the negatives
so there are episodes where she just comes out of character
like it feels like she is different character if u actually have memory and pay attention
she just started having interests without good and prober build ups
people would call that development, i say bullshit
that is not how development work
i have to be specific
i will say one example
in ep 6 she was assigned a job to copy some astronomy books in some academy or something. she meet this guy who help her as well. then after she copies many books she goes in and describes how wonderful are books, and she noticed that it is special thing that she was entrusted with preserving old books for future generations and how wonderful it is to do it. and they do it in dramatic way. for a normal human, you and me, it would be normal to say that right? but to her and her character and what she has been through, it kinda feels off.
