Glad I solved an old mystery for you :) Rose of Versailles is pretty good but it is long and has a couple of real despicable characters that you'll want to reach into the screen to strangle. But it also has Oscar and a couple of cool male characters Andre and Fersen that more than balance that. Oscar is in my top 10 character list.
If you like that rose thorn motif it also shows up in Maria-sama ga Miteru (aka Marimite) specifically episodes 10 and 11. Episode 10 is even called "The Forest of Briars". What's more, out of the 4 seasons episode 11 is easily in the top 3 out of all of 'em so it's a good one too (but it also sticks with you).
That character (Sei Satou) is also one of my top 10 characters and those episodes had quite a bit of influence on that (she's one of the deepest characters on the show).
I have read Dune, but it's been quite a while. I liked it, but didn't love it.
I've heard good things about Michael Sullivan but haven't read anything by him yet. What style of fantasy does he write?
I've never heard of The Left Hand of God. What is it about?
Howl's Moving Castle is a great book, as is most anything written by Diana Wynne Jones. Just don't expect it to be anything at all like the anime, which basically took the cast and a few pieces of setting and then threw away the plot and themes to replace them with Ghibli's preferred pot and themes.
Dune was pretty good. What are your favorites? I just finished the fourth Stormlight Archive novel by Brandon Sanderson, and am also in the middle of the Harry Dresden series by Jim Butcher.
I will immediately cease all outreach efforts and choose instead to bask in the glory of my superiority.
What types of real books do you like to read? I'm a big fan of fantasy.
But don't the people deserve to know the true power of anime to transform your life completely? If it scares them away, it but reveals that they were too weak to reside upon this elevated plane of existence.
You could just copy the code out, find and replace, and then paste the fixed code back...but even that is probably too much work to do for a stranger like me.
Are you an anime and manga fan or do you tend to significantly prefer one over the other?
It's a good addiction to have, since it has minimal physical health effects! We won't talk about the effect on your social health...
Also, as someone who is a bit grammar obsessive, under the name spoiler on your profile it should be whom, not who.
Yeah it might be a little intimidating at first. Basically it consists of sub-boards that are designed for specific purposes. Anime Discussion is general anime stuff that isn't abt a particular show, Casual Discussion is non-anime topics. Current Events is about news. Forum Games are for having fun with other users. Introductions is probably the best place to start. You can introduce yourself by creating a thread if you'd like, for finding people with similar interests. It's really interesting how different people's interests can be here. Although everyone is an anime fan, it's like calling yourself a movie fan, it doesn't tell much if you don't follow it up with something narrower.

What's the character name of your profile picture?
What is the name of the anime in this video of hands and roses?

Btw, nice gifs. Rose thorns and a girl will forever remind me of that Rose of Versailles op:
