The Moon route takes place in an alternate timeline, but doesn't redo any events from the common/heroine routes (What the first season adapted).
The Terra route is a sequel to the moon route, and prequel to the common route (Saying anymore would be spoiling).
Season 2 confirmed :D
The second season should be much better than the first, because it 'can' be adapted well unlike the first season. Of which they decided to combine all of heroine routes into one.
At the Anime Guild we discussion, review, and vote on various parts of the currently airing season.
An example is we choose the best Opening, Ending, Character and of course Anime of the Season.

so, I recommend to you to watch these 3 animes:
"Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun" is a romantic comedy with lovely characters, the comedy in this anime in one
of the best. you gonna love it!.
"Shirobako" is a comedy/drama with great characters like Nisekoi, it's really funny and the animation is just great.
"Bakemonogatari" is like a psychological Nisekoi, it's a little bit weird but is really fun to watch and the pace is just epic!
It was made by the same studio that Nisekoi, studio Shaft.
well, bye bye!
And I fear that might happen :/ The thing is that, you are unfortunately diving into a franchise that is actually very, very complicated lol! As there are tons of versions of Fate related stuff. You even got Unlimited Blade Works movie, even though it came from 2010 done by Studio Deen, it now became rather a summary movie (because it was so rushed) for the 2014/2015 version done by Ufotable instead. And then you got other stuff which, you might feel dizzy if looking them up :P And die-hard visual novel fans literally said that F/Z spoils many plot-twists as well as character relations and other stuff in the lore of F/SN, especially for Heaven's Feel route. So, unless you prefer watch things in chronological order anyway, you might actually feel upset if you are sensitive regarding how much you get spoiled before heading for F/SN routes. As for MAL, it lists anything as "prequel" if that's how it is chronologically, so you could get years of release all messed up, lol!
I myself didn't really read the visual novel much except the prologue, but I did see 2006 version of F/SN before diving into F/Z, despite some inconsistency compare to F/Z due to the fact that the studio for 2006 version made up some bits and took some elements from other 2 routes (Unlimited Blade Works route and Heaven's Feel route), it still did an ok job to cover most of the events in the Fate route which discusses more on Saber, and helped me more in F/Z. Since you still need to know more about the lore, the 2006 version can provide a little bit of which F/Z had referenced. Then after finishing the 2006 version, watch F/SN Unlimited Blade Works (2 cours) from 2014 version, which deals with the theme of clash of ideals. Just don't forget to watch episode 0 beforehand though, as that covers the prologue for all 3 routes of F/SN routes. After that, wait for 2017 onwards for the movie trilogy of the 3rd route - Heaven's Feel, where you'll meet more people from F/Z as well as knowing more about the lore of the war and the grail.
