This is my first and probably my last review, but I really just have to write a view on this goddamn hell of a masterpiece.
For a while, I didn't really want to fully watch this because the animation style looked poor, and I did drop it after 2 episodes. I picked it back up and rewatched episode 2, and then I proceeded to watch all 62 more episodes in just 7 days just because I was already hooked. It really blew away all of my expectations because it was #1 on MAL, but I didn't like the storyline or art at the time. Obviously,
...
that stuff was outshined by the other aspects and became my favorite anime.
Character: 10/10
All of the characters truly were shown so great compared to many other characters I've seen. Almost all of them were very damn likable and they were so different. I only didn't really like 2 or 3 characters, but the rest of them I loved. Pride, King Bradley, Greed, Alex, Edward and Envy were my favorites, and probably most peoples' favorites because of how likable and great they were.
Story: 9/10
To be honest, I don't really think this was a compelling main storyline, but I seriously loved all of the small parts along their journey. The people they encountered, the objectives they had to overcome, the ways they achieved their small goals all to reach their main intent. It was not the most unique plotline, but it surely made me keep watching it.
Art: 8/10
I was really not a fan of the animation style just because it didn't really look like anything I've seen before. It looked pretty ugly when I first started anime, but now it's actually pretty nice. I got used to it from watching those 64 episodes and I'm pleased because it will help me overcome my disliking for old animation styles. The fight scenes were also pretty damn good, while even the regular walking around scenes had a nice feel to them.
Sound: 10/10
Holy shit, of those 10 OPs and EDs, 7 of them are superior to a lot of the songs I've heard, and 3 of them are top tier. The OSTs were also pretty nice, but not very memorable. I also really enjoyed the voice acting. Greed's VA was one of my favorites and Edward's was annoying for a little bit, but I eventually began to like it. Overall, I actually didn't not like any of the characters voices because it's pretty hard to have a character with an annoying voice.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Literally a 10/10. I was instantly hooked on the second episode, and just binged all of it in one week as I said before. At around episode 40, I made it my #7 favorite just 'cause it was progressing perfectly. I think near episode 50 it reached my top 5, and at episode 60 it got to my #1. I thoroughly loved all of this, because it really flew past all of my expectations and presented a nice and long shounen adventure.
Overall: 10/10
Literally a 10/10. I honestly don't believe anything can top this. I said this about Hunter x Hunter and Bungou Stray Dogs, but this, just, is too damn spectacular. I loved it so damn much even though they don't have my favorite characters. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood really does deserve the rating it has right now, and I believe it should stay that way.
