aww that's a shame. To me, it has easily the best writing I've seen in any shonen ever. The Yorknew arc and especially the Chimera Ant arc are incredible. But I understand people have different opinions. So no worries, I'm glad you gave it a shot! :)

Definitely. It's really the first introduction in the show showing why Nen is such an amazing power system. Uvo is a real powerhouse and the most amazing Enhancer we've seen at this point in the show. Yet he got destroyed, because of the concept of conditions. The stricter the condition, the more powerful the ability. Nen is all about rules, counters and unpredictability. No one can be underestimated, because someone with the right unique power, executed smartly, especially if made more powerful through conditions, can be beat some seemingly more powerful. As seen with Uvogin vs Kurapika, Uvo is more susceptible to Conjurers and Manipulators, Kurapika had a smart plan, and of course had his condition.

I love Kurapika's character, you can really see how much he hates violence, even when he killed Uvo, yet he feels a deep need to do it, and it's tearing him apart. Also, it's cool to see how tight the Phantom Troupe is, Uvo, despite being an evil bastard, wasn't willing to sell out his friends in the end.

You should let me know your thoughts as you continue through Hunter x Hunter! I'd be interested to hear.

I am so happy to hear that! HxH is my favorite anime, Kurapika is one of my favorite characters, and the current arc you're on, the Yorknew arc, is one of my favorite arcs out there. What did you think of episode 47 (Kurapika vs Uvogin)??
