Heartcatch Precure!

The premises are different. But both are episodic Slice of Life-Drama series with lighthearted comedy in between. The characters are very nice (Heartcatch Precure has some villains because it's classic premise of mahou shoujo fighting evil, but I am talking about the protagonist and side characters who make the story here). They can restore your faith in humanity (a little) if you have lose it lol.

One is about samurai and the other one is about climbing. But that is the only "unimportant" difference between these two series. In the core, both series are really similar. One is about a wandering samurai and the other is about a sole climber, both are searching for something. There are little dialogues, (gorgeous) art do more works. Psychological aspects of the MCs are the focus.

Both have awesome MC, Harima and Takeo, it's nearly impossible to not like them. I rarely enjoy rom-com but for some reason I like both series because : they are funny, characters are lovable and some heartwarming scenes here and there.

Both heavily incorporate strategies to their fights. HXH is (far) darker in overall, but if you like game concept battles in HXH like 2nd phase of Hunter Exam or Dodge Ball in Greed Island, you probably will also enjoy Rank Wars in World Trigger.

Both are most likely "the less hated" Gundam because their stories are well written.. Their pacings are fast and the conflicts are complex and well designed.. Sometimes it's hard to follow the story because how dense the animes are..

Golden Kamuy
add

Yes, their genres are really different, Monster is a thriller whereas Golden Kamuy is an action adventure. But I find similarity in how the story told.. Both shows are focused in character, and driven by characters movements/journeys. Every character have something in mind and we as a spectator follow each of their journey.. I mean, in majority of animes, we only follow main protagonist/group and see the story from their point of view, and only in a really minor part that the focus shifted to side character and antagonist, but in Monster and Golden Kamuy we have a set of characters and the story always shifted from one character to another all along the show.. Sometimes they confrontate with each other, sometimes they work together, and things like that ...

If you love the climax of one series when protagonists and their friends fight together their enemy(ies), you will find the same thing in the climax of the other.. *I find the similarity of the amazing cover of the last chapter of FMA manga with DiU's OP3.. From the outside (mainly from main character's designs) these series look like a happy groovy anime.. But when you watch it, you will realize that these two series have a deep stories and themes (not something you will ordinary find from shounen series).. Yes, from action and fighting scenes, HXH is better.. But when we talk about themes and ideas explored, maybe Magi is better ...

I don't know, I know I was supposed to recommend Azumanga Daioh first to Nichijou watchers because how similar their plot styles and characters. But actually I wrote this recommendation at the time I feel abstractly the similar feeling of Nichijou and Lucky Star. Maybe because the same level of tempo and craziness ( I know Lucky Star looks far more realistic from the outside ).

Both series deal with professional sport. Professional sport dealing with a long season schedule, not knockout system. There is no win or die situation in every match like what you find in most sport animes. In other words, there is no easily predictable story like in most sport animes. Besides that, both main character have a great strategies and tactics to win a sport games. Although One Outs is a little unrealistic, but still fun to watch..

Both stories are about life with another being. Ayakashi in Natsume Yuujinchou are human like being, where Mushi are more like primitive beings. Both stories are focusing in slice of life and drama. But Natsume Yuujinchou is more slice of life, where Mushishi is more drama. Both are top tier class animes.

"Sport is amazing." You will get the feling when you watching these two shows.. When many of sport anime/mangas still using shounen approach when a main character will win unrealistically after got owned one second before, these two anime/mangas using realistic but entertaining ( much more entertaining for me ) way to win a sport match.. Not to forget, realistic character developments are at best in these shows..

Both stories are about "other forms" of life, Mushi in Mushishi and Microbes in Moyashimon.. We are invited to those beautiful world, exploring it, enjoying it and we can study many things from those stories.. There is a different where Mushishi is more of drama, Moyashimon more oriented at comedy.. Both are great stories ! but I think Moyashimon is little underrated here..
