Before i say anything i would like to point out that before i watched this show i heard nothing but bad things about date a live. I heard that it was pure fan service and that the second season is just a joke. So i went into here with very low expectations. Which is why i think this is my second favourite anime of all time

This show is what i would call the ultimate surprise. This show is something that comes out of no where. You just have to get through the cliche infested first episode
Story wise the story itself is good, What makes this story great in my opinion is the back stories of every character and how they all seem to come together with each other. That is the main reason i personally love this story. Ren Ashebell win the blade dance years ago greatly influences all the female maidens at the school. Clannad is something honestly isn't for everyone. By that i mean that this show has a insanely slow pace. It honestly take a long time to get to the main point of the show yet the journey towards that goal is amazing. You see the plot of this show is rather simple. It is the journey between Nagisa and Tomoya. What makes this plot work for me is that the arcs in the show always come back to it. This shows plot is heartbreaking and heart warming at the same time. It isn't that often a show just blows my mind but honestly this one did
Story wise this show is surprisingly dark. I mean when you first see the premise and the art and visuals you think this is going to be a cute adventure with magical powers and cupcakes. YEP NOT AT ALL! Seriously after episode 3 i don't think there is a happy tone in this show. So i thought this anime was something you could sink your teeth into (No-pun intended) and watch for a week
Honestly it surprised me a bit. I thoroughly enjoyed this show So story wise i feel that the true plot never comes through until episode 8. The plot after episode 8 is rather good and i feel that it allows you to actually care for the characters. Now is it anything amazing? Not really. I just really enjoy this plot. K-ON is something special to me.
It has quite a cute feel and is never sad (Most of the time) The story itself is nothing new. Most slice of life animes are like that though. The way it is executed is rather great though. This show never tries to be anything more then what it is and that makes it so enjoyable to me. The characters to me make this story good. The story is pretty much about the highschool light music club. Yui, Mio, Ritsu and Mugi (Azuna comes in half way through the season) all work together to become great musicians.
