Holy crap, when did our compatibility get that high? 91.8? I don't think I've ever seen it Amazingly High with anyone before. Is it because of the rank deviation being so low, I wonder? We don't have that many shows in common. Only like 35. By the way, I find it hilarious that you rated Infinite Stratos lower than I did. Is that even possible? Perhaps I need to rethink my rating if you're giving it a 3. XD
Note: The spoiler tags are purely for organizational purposes.
Out of those you named:
Engineering - Probably not my thing
Mathetmatics - Hell no
Physics - See the above. My brother would like this, though.
Medicine - Lol, my lack of sympathy would not do well in this field. XD
Nursing - See the above.
Chemistry - Ugh, I didn't really even learn this in "high school" *shame~*
Theater - Interesting but useless.
Fashion Design - I'm not creative enough.
Agriculture - Boring
English - This is useless? :(
Latin - Lol, what kind of career can you get with this?
Philosophy - And this sounded interesting, too...
Art History - I see very few options for this.
Communications - I don't really know why you'd make this your major
Hehehe, I did send you a link to the chart in my last comment. When I said "The chart" there was a link on those words. :P
To keep up on what's coming out people usually come out with charts. Winter 2012, spring 2012, summer 2012, fall 2012, winter 2013, etc. Here's the winter 2013 chart in a link so you can see it:
There's also some two cour shows continuing. In other words, a show that's continuing on into the next season and filling a spot for two season's worth of anime. A 12 episode show versus 25 episode show. So here's the fall 2012 list if you want to follow any of the ones that are half way through or ones that just finished: http://bestanimeseason.com/series_images/Fall2012v1.png
People will usually start putting these charts together when the anime season is half way through and update it until all the anime for the next season are announced. To make sure that you've got the most recent version it's usually best to see if it says v.1, v.2, etc. on it somewhere. An easy hint if it's old is there's little information given on each show in the preview, lack of seiyuu line up, no production studios, etc. The way I usually keep up with it is through the clubs on MAL: Winter 2013 Anime Group Winter 2013 ANIME
They'll change the club name for each season. They're both pretty good resources if you're like me and watch things season by season. They usually start a thread containing those charts when they become available as well as their updated versions, too. If not, I just google it. I already sent you my winter PTW (Plan to Watch) list, so here's what I watched and will continue for fall 2012:
- Magi - I plan to pick this up when I have the time. Since it's shounen you might like it, too.
- Robotics;Notes - This is a two cour, so it's still airing into the winter season. I haven't started it yet, but this one I am for sure going to pick up before it finishes. If you're a fan of Steins;Gate from a couple seasons ago, you'll love this. It takes place in the same world/universe and will probably have references to S;G. (I loved Steins;Gate)
- Psycho-Pass is another two cour that's continuing into Winter 2013. I'm a bit behind on it right now, but if you like dark stuff with a weird universe, you'll probably like this.
- Tonari no Kaibutsu-Kun - My favorite shoujo anime from fall 2012! We don't get good shoujo anime too often. This isn't one of my all time favorites, but it was pretty good for comedy as well as romance.
- Sukitte Ii Na Yo - Another shoujo I watched. Too serious and not as humorous as Tonari. Considering this is one of three shoujo anime that aired this season, it really got hit hard by me when comparing them. :P
- Code:Breaker - I was so excited when I saw this show announced! I had friends that really liked the manga so to hear of it becoming an anime was awesome! ...Until it aired and everyone said it was torn apart, and then the overall MAL score took a dive after it was completed. I don't think I'm going to watch this one anymore. :/
- Jormungand second season - The first season was mediocre for me. A lot of people liked it, but most of them were fans of Black Lagoon, which I never saw. Definitely a guy anime. Although I would like to believe even guys tire of the age old "I'm the main character; if I run into the middle of the battlefield all the guys with black suits and sunglasses carrying semi-automatics STILL can't even graze me!" cliche. Even so, I might watch it for the lolz.
- Zetsuen no Tempest - We've already discussed this one. I will finish it at some point.
- Shin Sekai Yori - Since this is two cour I'm keeping my eye on how it does. Two cour show usually turn out to be better since they have more time to do things and don't squash the plot into 12 short episodes. Still, its MAL score is only 7.55. If it doesn't go above 8 I probably won't watch it. 7.55 is really average for a show that already sounds average based off the synopsis.
- Jojo's Bizarre - Based of what my friend has told me about this, I want to watch it because it sounds so weird. XD
- Bakuman season 3 - Three seasons of awesome! This was a given. Every fall I have to watch Bakuman. I love this show so much! I've been watching it as it airs since the first season and it's part of the reason I started watching anime seasonally like I do now.
- Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! - It's a possibility based off positive reviews and the MAL score being high.
- Sakurasou na Pet Kanojo - See above and add a friend's recommendation for motivation.
- "K" - Why did I start this again? Oh yeah, I thought I was torrenting Kamisama Hajimemashita and ended up with this. I watched the whole first episode and was like, "Da fuq did I just watch? How is this a romantic comedy?" XD
- Kamisama Hajimemashita - Yeeeaaaaah, another shoujo. I'm spoiled. I know. Do you even watch shoujo? Lol.
- Little Busters - I was rather looking forward to this one, but so far people say it's been a disappointment. I will probably still watch it.
"They believe so and I agree sadly enough. But they don't understand they are the cream of the crop amongst certain people (like you). They seem to hate their traitorous women who prefer other races."
Why do they hate them? I mean, if they like white girls aren't they the same? Or is it because they choose them exclusively? I doubt Asian girls would choose white guys exclusively. Prefer? Maybe some of them, but not exclusive. I'm just making assumptions though, so don't mind me. I really don't know for sure. And hey, you should tell them there are those of us that would choose them over rough and toned white guys! Haha! I'm serious!
"I'm hearing experienced talk!"
Hahaha, nah, I'm just making you think that. :P
"Nooo! Ideal situation for most is meeting the person and taking them home on the 1st night."
Knowing me, I'd probably be an airhead and go with them somewhere thinking totally innocent things, like we were going to hang out and do something fun. Not... other stuff. Yep, I can totally see that happening to me. XD
"My friend once told me every day you last in the friend-zone it becomes exponentially harder to get out lol." Shitsumon~! Do guys usually put girls in the friend zone right away too? I always thought it was the girls that categorized guys as friends or boyfriends right away, and guys just see all girls as options. Well, not all girls, but you know what I mean. Like, they won't immediately write a girl off as "not an option" or something. Kind of ironic I had a guy tell me the same thing your friend said just the other day. When it comes to guys in real life I usually know right away whether or not I could ever see myself with them or not. It's not a long decision process, very cut and dry. There's immediate yes, immediate no, and then the average ones. Average ones, based on who they are, have the ability to make it or break it. They're good enough to be considered but not good enough to be a yes or no right off the bat. These are also the guys you just don't have an immediate reaction towards. The ones you know by sight but never give a second thought until they do something to make you think in your head, "Wow, I'd never choose someone like that," or, "Was he always this sweet, charming and fun to be around?"
"...And make women look slimmer due to the height increase."
That's always a good thing!
"Who cares how it would look or what others think. What would be funny if you looked much older than the person then you could pass a cougar. "
I do care, obviously, lol. I can't get passed the height difference when it comes to guys. Same height is okay. Short, no, not really. He'd have to be really amazing for me to ignore that. I'd rather not be the older one! <-- I say as all the guys I've had a crush on lately have been younger than me, lol. Unnecessary clarification: Not younger by a lot. See, now if I didn't proofread this I wouldn't have saved myself from the 48934853405834 jokes that opened up for you. :)
"Some guys are into that."
Into what?
1600 Words ~ Took forever and a day to write that with all the other stuff going on. Like certain people not answering certain questions.
If this comment had an MP3, which it's about to, this song would be playing, because I seriously listened to it the whole time while writing this. Over and over again. Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with me; now the damn tune is going to be stuck in my head for the next week and I'm going to hate it. I still like the dancing, though!
So what would you say are the hard degrees to attain and what are the easiest? Also, which ones are the most useful/useless?
"But it would be cool after each episode just to tell someone what I think."
Have you decided what you're going to watch for the winter line up?
"All my friends do, the white girls just don't like them =(. Makes me sad."
Well damn it, tell them to move here. XD
Do they seriously get turned down just because they're Asian?
">:), There's always the edit button."
Has anyone ever told you that you're evil?
Lol, I was pretty sure that was what you were referring to but I wanted to make you clarify anyways just because I'm obnoxious like that. And wait, so I'm really not the only girl out there that phrases things like "run my fingers through your hair"? Cuddling is so much of a better opportunity to mess up a guy's hair than that, anyways. :P Okay, now I just made it awkward.
"You also dominating the male species. Cracking the whip and making him earn his keep."
Yeah, well, I think a lot of guys hate that about us!
"I have a rather sad story for you later."
Sou desu ka?
"Sometimes a person get so caught up in wanting a certain answer they just hear a word and go OKAY"
I do the opposite with this line of thinking. Even if I'm getting all the right signals I'll sometimes think I'm only seeing what I want to see and remain hesitant to go further. I don't want to make a move on my wishful thinking. And while I realize stuff like this stems from low self esteem and my own timid nature, I can't seem to balance it out. Why do these things have to be so complicated when they should be so simple?
"I have an ideal situation far as meeting goes. If I want to become involved with a girl I would rather be her friend first without the whole crushing/flirting thing going on first"
I think both genders have that ideal situation in mind. I know I do. There's always the problem with friend-zoning, though. If I like someone off the bat I might try and be their friend first but keep things "open" enough so it's not all just buddy-buddy, if that makes sense. Having a situation where you unintentionally fall in love with one of your best friends is always a difficult one, though. Someone once told me my best friend growing up had a crush on me. I told them they were full of shit. Looking back that person may not have been seeing things after all, but considering nothing ever happened with that it's all good. I liked him as a friend and only friend. Even though I haven't seen that guy in like... 3 years and counting, I still consider him my best friend.
"What's the creepiest thing you've ever done xD."
Oh my God, lol. You answer your own question first!! XD
" I never understood why girls torcher themselves with heels. "
Because guys think they're sexy, I guess. Considering I've never really worn heels. Ever. I'd probably fall on my face or look awkward walking in them, which is yet another reason I've never worn heels before. Although if the guy I liked wanted me to wear heels... Hell yes, I'd totally wear them for him. But he better be taller than me still! "Don't be ashamed of the height. Own it!"
I don't dislike my height in general. I only dislike it when the guys I like are shorter than me. Not that I'd know, but I'm willing to bet kissing a guy who's shorter than me would just be awkward. Like I'd be in control of the encounter or something. And who wants that? Looks like "Lovely Complex" didn't really change my mind on the height thing. XD
"Yes I do actually."
So did you make this statement before or after you'd read my PM about cute guys? Haha!
"I would take yours over but you are too popular for that to go over."
Oh yeah. Popular. SO popular. /rolls eyes
Suuuuure you will. I'll notice, you know. Fair warning.
Here's your list, short as it is.
- Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru - Has potential, but if it turns out to be ecchi I'm dropping it like a rock. A-1 Pictures is pretty good. The voicing cast is kind of new to me. - Sasami-san Ganbaranai - Shaft's shows are always a hit or a miss. For instance, if this turns into something with incest, it's going out the window. :P - Amnesia - It's Brains Base! It's a romance-shoujo! And it's got bishounens! - Chihayafuru 2 - Been waiting for this one to come out, so it's a given I'll watch it. - Cuticle Tantei Inaba - This sounds so stupid it makes me want to try it. The cross-dressing assistant makes me cringe. The fact that it's admittedly an episodic show also worries me. - Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - Sounds interesting. I like Sawashiro Miyuki and Jun Fukuyama's voicing acting too, so that's a plus.
That's actually a really sad list... normally I choose a lot more to watch but the options on the chart were less than savory. Seriously, there's really nothing Death-Note-esque on there at all. Lucky for me I have shows from the last two season I missed to catch up on, and some of the shows I'm craving in other genres are carrying over, like Psycho Pass and Robotics;Notes. I still need to start R;N, by the way...
"So you meant some serious business?"
I was so serious I wasn't even being serious. Wait...
"I'm now seeing the benefits of this. My 360 is no where near as loud after installing games. "
See? You can tell how much experience I have with this sort of thing. ;)
Image to maintain, huh. Is that so?
What's so bad about Criminal Justice degrees or Communications degrees? I don't know enough about either field to say how easy or hard it is. That goes the same for Engineers. Phony field, lol. I didn't know college kids distinguished people so much based simply on what their major was.
I haven't written a review for anything, anime or otherwise, in a very long time. I voice my opinion to others on such and such a topic more than I write a review for everyone to read. Opinions are difficult things. Everyone has one and they seldom coincide with one another.
You're right about the culinary arts things. I've heard you don't even need a degree to get into that field - you can just go straight for an apprenticeship and do things that way. Having that knowledge really deters me from choosing that as a major.
Yeah, a lot of white guys steal away Asian girls. You see that mix more than you see the Asian guys with the white girls, but I'm probably too sheltered to make that statement with confidence. It's depressing! Why can't Asian guys like white girls! >.<[
No idea where that's from!
"LOL why do you believe that?"
Believe what? I got lost, I think.
"I'll just say this, things are starting to get interesting."
Hmm, I think I should regret saying that thing about the hair.
Oh, and your 'casually and activity' thing. You still have to reveal your answer about that, ya know. An elephant never forgets.
With that situation I'd probably be giggly. I'd try and be normal but if I'm nervous I giggle. More than usual. Which is already a lot. Hopefully there is no blushing involved. God, I want to commit suicide just thinking about the situation.
What I meant by absolutes is a direct "Yes" or "No" without any messing around.
Do you like me? Yes or no question. My answer is maybe. If I say yes I'm admitting everything with no going back, but there's a chance for rejection. I want to say yes, but there's risk involved. I don't like risk. I like to play things safe. If I say no then I'm turning away the guy I like. I definitely don't want this, it's the opposite of the end goal, but the alternative being a yes isn't appealing either. So I say maybe. I can't say either so I don't even really answer. In my head I'm just hoping that the guy, noticing this hesitation, will take it as an indirect yes. If I didn't like the guy I'd obviously just give him a straight up, "No, I'm not really interested in you." Saying maybe gives him the next move. He takes things to the next level. He has to make progress with me. I'm making him work for it. Or in other words, I'm a bloody coward and I'm being lazy. :P
Oh, and it's important to note there's a difference between the answer "maybe" and "I don't know." Or at least there is with me. Tone and body language are what a person has to pay attention to when they get these answers. If there's this obvious but happy hesitation in the "Maybe" then yeah, s/he likes you but is too afraid to admit it. Nervous gestures, a frown, or detached hesitation with an "I don't know," then that could mean s/he just doesn't know how they feel about you yet. This could mean they like the flirting that's been going on but don't know if they want to make things official. Maybe they have other options. Maybe they don't want to commit. The button line is that they haven't made a decision on their feelings for you yet so they're asking you to wait while they sort through their emotions. This answer also seems to be pretty popular when it's the crush giving it to the person that's been doting on them, I think. I mean, if you liked the person and your crush asks "Do you like me?" comes up, you're not all of a sudden going to be on the fence about it.
"What's after relationship in that little transition chart?"
A relationship is usually the end goal with a lot of people. They don't think about what comes after. I think if it this way: Relationships end in one of two ways; you break up or you get married. The (romantic) relationship you've decided to have with this person is to determine if you're right for one another.
"I was recently advised to do something similar but I believe it will generate creep status over positive reaction.
Girls have it easier with this, I think. It's harder for us to come off as creepy than it is for guys. :P
"or C) You wasn't wearing the proper entire. Damn ho's always be winning."
Lol, do you mean attire? And that's possible. They'll have to forgive me for not buying those sparkly, 4 inch stilletos. Already being tall, I try not to add on more height than I need to.
"I should say yes I am Asian just to troll. "
Do you really want me to go into fangirl mode?
The hell? You haven't even replied to the PM and I've already written the comment's reply. How dare you do something other than go on your computer on Christmas Day! I'm so tempted to give myself the forever alone meme right now. But I already told you, my Christmas was yesterday. :P
Oh hey, I've officially taken over your comment page. Iilia domination.
Iilia. Ill - ee - ah! With an I. And an E. And an "Ah." ;)
Made in up in like 2 minutes when I joined. So much thought and creative in this girl over here. So. Much.
Aren't Liberal Arts degrees kind of pointless? Isn't it basically a glorified HS diploma? Lol. And how about a Business major? I know a lot of people going for that one.
With an English degree... gosh, hell if I know. Maybe an editor? Anything that involves looking over punctuation correction, rewriting, or creating something original. My grammar is decent; above average considering the schooling I had or so I believe. That's a start. Also, I think doing something you enjoy is going to take you further than any natural talent. Aside from English I've considered learning Japanese to be a translator. Stereotypical anime fan, I know. Since I like baking I was also thinking of trying something like culinary. All these things don't exactly give you great career options. My pay checks later in life are going to be sooo sweet.
As for my age, I shall let you guess that in your PM. You get t'w'ee t'w'ies. ^_^
"They get no respect from the ladies and I don't appreciate it! " "They" meaning Asians or did I misinterpret?
Pretty sure they should make it illegal for guys to cut their hair really short. Vote Iilia for president and you'll have bishies everywhar. "(I have my reasons for one of them but will reveal depending on the answer lol)" Hmm, no, I think you're going to reveal regardless of the answer. I'm the president now, didn't you get the memo?
I meant it casually, but hey, whenever I can I will. My brother has curly hair, which isn't my favorite, but since he's my brother and I can get away with it I tousle his hair all the time. Partly because I just love messing up a guy's hair and partly because I know he hates it. >:) That wasn't supposed to sound weird but somehow I think it does...
Toonami robot = Tom? They discontinued Toonami a while back, so no, no more Tom. Last I heard they were trying to revive it on YT or something, but I don't know what happened with that.
"The situation" meaning...?
I don't give any of those faces regularly, lol. Especially not the one with tears.
Girl with stars in her eyes - Probably me talking with another girl, going on a tangent about cute guys.
Blonde girl from TWGOK - Possibly me being nervous about getting confronted on whether I like a guy or not. "Do you like me?"
Me: *Shuffles feet nervously* "Mayyyyybe..."
I hate absolutes. I never use absolutes unless I know he likes me ,100% sure. Rarely happens.
Misaki - Hmm, I really hope that's not the face I'd make if I was about to get a kiss from a crush, lol. I hate it when I blush.
So even if it was a girl you were really attracted to you'd ignore her just to avoid the small talk? I don't particularly care for small talk either but if it's the road that leads to getting to know that person and bridging the awkward space from casual acquaintance > to friendship > to relationship, so be it.
"You aren't relaxed or your usual self and just trying to come off as the person they'd approve of or accept. " Exactly! Which is entirely the wrong approach, I know, but I somehow I fall into this trap constantly.
I don't think it's obvious, no. However, I'm not seeing things from their perspective so maybe it is obvious? Or maybe it's not obvious to him but someone else who is just an onlooker? I think sometimes I "unconsciously" make things obvious to people just so they can catch on. In other words, I'm hoping for a positive reaction. If I get I get a positive reaction I'll push further until I hit a point where I get a negative reaction or I'm able to bring up a relationship. If I get no reaction it means I either A) Need a new approach/ he didn't notice, or B) he ignored whatever I did. Success stories and along what lines? Lol, I feel like I'm making a commercial. XD
It can only be exploited if you're Asian. And if you are, you probably shouldn't tell me. I mean, now you know how I get stars in my eyes when I see bishounens...
I don't know if I want to ask what "bad" means in this context... lol.
A list that does not exist cannot yet be sent. I'm a pro-crastinator, remember?
Sleep did. Tonight it's a match between MAL and sleep. So far MAL is winning.
What's even more funny is that that line wasn't even intended to be a hilarious. I say stuff like that back and forth with my brother IRL all the time. I'm pretty sure the whole world would think we're completely mental if they listened to the two of us talking considering how internet slang heavy our conversations are, not to mention the sheer amount of quotes we use from movies and everything else we've compiled over the years. Hell, we even quote generic lines from one of the stupid electronic toys we had as kids. We even quote OURSELVES. W're so pro.

- Amnesia - It's Brains Base!
Contrary to popular belief, dark circles are not an attractive feature on girls.
Almost finished proofreading your PM reply.
That wasn't supposed to sound weird but somehow I think it does...
