One of the greatest comedies of the modern generation.
In an era overrun by stagnant Isekai anime tropes and overworked MAPPA shows, Eminence season 1 and 2 proves it can stand and be unique on its own two feet while relieving all the classic isekai tropes in its own lovable way.

Comedy is subjective is a commonly used term for this show. People who take this show seriously will find it extremely unfunny but if you embrace the cringe and autism the show offers, you will find a diamond in the rough.

Since this is a review for the second season, you most likely already enjoy the ... show enough to decide on watching the second season. I recommend watching it with friends for the best experience.

Great soundtrack by Kenichiro Suehiro as well.

Overall one of the better Isekai's i've watched.

Jujutsu Kaisen: They don't seem to care about their characters, so why should you?

The first half of the season, Hidden Inventory, is by far the best part of the show. It retains the charm, wit, and emotional depth of the first season while making you care about the characters from the past. And then came the Shibuya Incident, where characters you have no emotional connection to die, and they show an 8-minute-long character development flashback just before their demise, as if trying to compensate for the lack of earlier development.

Take Nanami Kento, for example. He barely receives any character development in the first season aside ... from his care for a worker in a FamilyMart and his identity as an office worker. Suddenly, we're supposed to feel attached to him as he faces death, all because he desires a vacation in Malaysia that he won't get? The same applies to Nobara, where they depict a flashback of her crying over a departed friend, expecting it to evoke emotions. While it was nice to see the gang's past moments, imagine if there were more scenes like that, developing Megumi, Yuji, and Nobara. There's no emotional payoff when side characters meet their demise.

The Shibuya Incident arc essentially turns into a series of fight-fests in each episode, leading to inconsistencies in the fights' quality. While most would argue that the fight between Makora and Sukuna suffered the most, the one I disliked the most was Todo and Yuji versus Mahito. What's the point of a finishing blow if it doesn't finish your opponent? Why did the animators spend weeks on a fight that ultimately doesn't matter significantly if Mahito still survives to be killed by Geto? Moreover, what's the purpose of Mahito's second form if it only lasts for five minutes and doesn't impact anyone?

Overall, it was a huge letdown compared to the first season where fights actually mattered and told more about the characters.

A step down from the previous film, but still a better watch than the actual series itself. The removal of pointless side characters and the focus on characters like Argo and Agil is a nice improvement. Unfortunately, it's heading in the direction of being as bad as the original series, with the focus solely on Kirito once again. Kirito remains the weakest aspect of the movie, and it genuinely feels like if he wasn't in the film, nothing would have changed. Furthermore, they're starting to write Asuna as another damsel in distress for Kirito, which is a significant step-down compared to the first film that ... showcased Asuna's personal growth as she faced Aincrad.

Chainsaw Man is a decent, albeit flawed anime. Some scenes look beautiful while others look dreadful. It certainly does feel like they had different directors for different episodes because there's so many stylistic differences in episodes in which the final fight looked absolutely dreadful compared to some of the earlier fights. It also never really helped that the anime just doesn't have any style to it, it mostly just looks like a grey CG mess in most fights and beautiful outside of the fights. The characters are enjoyable and the ending animations are very very stylistic compared to the actual show itself. Worth a watch ... but you're better off reading the manga for a better experience because this could've been way better if they had polished it way more.

A very very mid isekai anime.
Worse than the likes of Slime Isekai or Redo of Healer or any other generic isekai anime
Animation is very generic, Protagonist has a generic shota design, none of the side characters are interesting and everything is purely the definition of bland.
The protagonist has zero flaws whatsoever as his magical power basically forms any chemical known in existence and another magical power that lets him spot out any sickness. As he was already a famed chemist before he died, he has zero flaws and the series is just watching him cure people.
The only thing interesting about the show are the ... chemistry formulations and the usage of medicine and such.



tldr very generic, don't watch unless you're a chemist or need to pass your science exam

Sword Art Online but without the worst character and actually good character development for Asuna, who took the mantle as Kirito's harem girlfriend in the original anime.

The movie somehow managed to exceed my very low expectations for an SAO film after the tragedy that was Ordinal Scale. By focusing all the character development to Asuna, it allows for a different perspective on her relationship with others and Kirito besides being his sidechick.

The animation was very excellent as typical from A1 Pics and sound design was as expected, great too. The only negatives i'd bring up are Kirito and the new character Mito. Kirito, is of ... course, bland as always and does nothing for the story other than beating enemies. Mito is used to develop Asuna's character and her reasons for beating the game but because this is a retelling of the original, she is easily brushed aside once Asuna fully matures and she will probably never appear ever again aside from a short cutscene or two.

Overall, the movie is a great retelling of the original which many despise. If your friends hated the original SAO, it might be worth it for them to watch this and see if they change their minds. Looking forward to the sequel and hopefully they keep Asuna as the main character.

A mediocre plot to a mediocre anime.
Reused animations, boring cliche characters, no interesting sound designs or animation style, it's just a Meh.

Series serves as a massive plot and worldbuilding dump with nothing to back it up. The concept of "original sin", "the scriptures", or any form of worldbuilding are simply used as jargon and are barely explained in the world.

The plot got somewhat interesting with Akari's time powers and the interactions between Akari and Menou/Ashura and Momo were nice but definitely not worth sitting through this boring anime.

tl;dr, it doesn't subvert any expectations and if you do plan on watching it, have very low ... expectations. There's almost nothing new or interesting about this and while it has the potential to be better, you're probably better off just skipping this.

"We will create a Neon Genesis without Evangelions" - Hideaki Anno
Excellent writing wow amazing, you totally didn't jumble a bunch of words you read from a psychology textbook 20 years ago and is now trying to make it make sense.

It feels like a punishment watching this, as if Anno hated all of us and just continued the nonsensical spouting from the Third Rebuild. Watch this for the sake of the final chapter of Evangelion, not for the sake of actually enjoying the plot.

The good parts? The village actually looked beautiful and stunning and the scenes with Asuka actually looked mouth-watering. The bad parts? The massive ... CGI fest of Evas.

Spoiler: There's no explanation of how they built so many Evas.

As a major fan of Gurren Lagann, i had high hopes for Promare. Fortunately, it met my expectations and i loved every moment of the movie. It felt like a very very good throwback to Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann but it doesn't reach quite there in terms of story and character development.

Story-wise, it falls pretty short as it's as cliche as it can be. The good guy governor is the bad guy and he's evil and the previous antagonist has to team up with the protagonist to defeat the true antagonist. However, the art and sound of Promare carries the movie as the ... fight scenes are spectacular. The music by Hiroyuki Sawano absolutely slaps as every scene gets bombarded with it and generates goosebumps throughout my body.

Overall, a must-watch for Trigger fans, Gurren Lagann fans or fans of Over-the-top action genre. Don't watch it if you're expecting a good plot though but for a great enjoyment.

An anime loved and hated by many. For me, it was an in-between, i loved the whole plot reveal with the future and the past thing but i felt like the Twilight place and the multiple plot holes confuses the viewer. It kind of falls under a Neon Genesis Evangelion situation where the movie expects us to understand the whole concept of time, the mitsubu, the strings and all that super easily but it just gets super convoluted at the final half of the movie.

Character development kinda sucks in this movie lol. The whole movie builds up Mitsuha's Dad as a massive dickhead to ... Mitsuha and her family yet at the final moments, he is convinced by Mitsuha to evacuate the whole city? There's legit ZERO Explanation behind how she convinced her Dad nor how the whole city evacuated right before the meteor struck other than LOL COINCIDENCE.

Besides stunning visuals and soundtrack, the plot fails to come to a understandable conclusion and while many have theorized and filled the plot holes, it is up for the movie to do that, not the viewer.
