May you have good health, lots of happiness, and a great New Year. Happy New Year! :)
Yeah I at least try to eat as healthily as I can and sleep is pretty hit-or-miss but I try for at least 6 per night. There's this curious psychology concept of internal vs external locus of control that basically describes the tendency for people to attribute events as consequences of their actions (internal) or outside influences (external). Those little accomplishments contribute towards our internal locus and makes it feel that we have control over our lives. The moment you lose your internal locus, that's when you start feeling helplessness and get swept into a vicious cycle of depression believing you don't have the power to change for the better.

Whatever they tell me they smoke/drink, I multiply it by 2 to assume the accurate amount lmao.
I've been mostly reading manga these days since I find them more time efficient than watching anime. Speaking of which, I peeked at the next seasons shows and realized I've actually read the mangas for most of them lmao. Are there any you're looking forward to in particular? Also do you like reading LNs? I'm actually not familiar with the medium.
Happy (early) New Years to you too! Have you made any resolutions yet? :D
Sorry for my late responses, I'll get to them soon I promise! Been busy working/studying through the holidays ; -;
yup that's the one! aobuta is pretty much the best romance show for this season imo. i guess i love the romance genre since i'm a hopeless romantic myself hahaha. i'm a sucker for the classic shoujo romances, but it sucks because i think i've seen all of them. maid sama, izura na kiss, golden time, aaa i've seen all of them ;_; oo yes, horror/psychological shows are another thing i'm into. there's not really any "horror" anime, since most horrors are just really gory and whatnot. have you ever seen another? that show is gory as hell. lots of mutilation. i also hear corpse party has torture and cannibalism, but i'm not sure about the jumpscares. i honestly don't even know if anime even has any jumpscares, which is good because i haaate scary surprises. and lol no, i just listen to the endings LOL. but i'm definitely planning on watching the show someday B) what's the difference between a kuudere and a dandere?
yes, yes i've definitely seen that one ;) i even watched this one: https://myanimelist.net/anime/36220/Itsudatte_Bokura_no_Koi_wa_10_cm_Datta very satisfying ending. i love shows with time skips that show the couples being together and married and everything <3
THANK YOU <3 you're a savior oml. and before i check it out, are you absolutely 100% sure it's safe? i just don't want my computer being hacked or getting viruses or anything
That's probably one of the biggest ironies of medicine, that we urge our patients to eat healthy but eat like shit ourselves :'D
I think it's about making sure you don't lose your internal locus. Things often get really chaotic and you get swept around everywhere so it's easy to make 'can't be helped' excuses. But if you make small commitments like even if I'm tired, I'll still make myself a healthy meal before going to bed or I know I have to be at the hospital at 4am, but I'm still going to make a healthy breakfast beforehand, it helps with reassuring yourself that you still have some control over your life. You know?
Haha this probably sounds really abstract but when everything feels it's going out of your control, having these little accomplishments really helps alot as a coping mechanism... ^^;
Yeah me too. I met patients before that blatantly smelled like marijuana but when I take their drug history, they say they've never done anything of the sort. Me: *raises eyebrows*
I would've loved to see more of the purple-haired girl too... oh well... :(
On a similar note to eromanga sensei, have you ever watched Shirobako? Supposedly it's a really well-received anime on how anime is made haha. And same, I don't really care for genre so long as there's a well-crafted story with nice characters. I just happen to avoid ecchi/harem because they're mostly aimed at sexually-frustrated audiences to self-insert as the MC.

oooh if houseki no kuni is psychological and it has some good character development, i might watch it. i listened to the opening and it sounds amazing! yup and i'm never getting off. i'm a hopeless romantic so gotta love my romance :,) i've mostly been catching up with the seasonals, and bunny girl senpai is by far my favorite so far. i'm also watching clannad after story since i finished the first season last weekend. truee, even though i haven't seen guilty crown, i absolutely love its soundtrack. the first and second openings are godly & i absolutely loved the endings. same with food wars lol. this one's my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7sMRYqZGnQ lol. i sometimes hum to it whenever i'm cooking. honestly i think i'm gonna watch food wars :,) i think derederes can be cute at times, but i agree, they can be overly clingy and rather annoying. what's your favorite dere btw?
bwahahaaha i can't watch reverse harems OR regular harems xd. that's why love triangles are the way to go if you want the good drama ;) my favorite type of romance is probably the shows with multiple couples like tsurezure children. do you know any shows similar to that? like with at least one other couple that's not the main one. i multiple romances. haha yes i have seen kaichou wa maid-sama. it was my first shoujo romance and i absolutely loved it <3 it's not really a reverse harem though? i mean there are a lot of guys who take interest in her, but i dunno lol. so yeah, a lowkey reverse harem x,) i just love helping people in general :) as corny as that sounds, it's allll true. haha right! i remember you telling me that xd
white album 2 is indeed a love triangle romance. lots and lots of drama and lots of feels too ;_;
i'm kinda curious how eroges are like, so maybe i'll pirate some visual novels too LOL
for me, it'd be character > story > art > music. i've never seen houseki no kuni because i just can't stand cgi. i think i watched like the first episode when it was airing last year, but i don't really remember how i felt. i probably dropped it because it was boring or something. i was still in that "if it has no romance, then i won't watch" phase (still lowkey in it HA). which anime do you think has the best soundtrack? for me, i'd say either kimi no na wa or violet evergarden. the songs played in the show really get to me, and it makes me feel so emotional just by listening to it. okay well all tsunderes are like that, but i just don't like her voice. honestly, i think a character's voice is what makes me like them or not lol. like i can't stand the high pitched tsundere yelling, or the super soft monotone kuudere whispering. haha yeah, for my iphone, i have those wireless headphone things so it makes it a lot easier to keep in my ears. it's also a lot easier to listen to music during class lol
it's funny because whenever he lowkey sexually assaults them, that's what makes them like him even more xd. japan is whack like that. have you seen any reverse harems? i've seen one, and it's the only one i'm gonna see. the main girl is always so defenseless and relies on all of the dudes to protect her, aaand she's submissive and will let them all do whatever. if you've seen diabolik lovers, then you'll know what i'm talking about xd. if you know a good reverse harem with a badass main girl then hmu plssss. and ahhh ofc, you got the childhood friends, the tsundere, the kuudere, and the reverse trap LOL. i've seen clips of infinite stratos in dub, and tbh, the dub sounds better than the sub because the voice actors nail down the accents perfectly xd. i'm majoring in nursing :,) and you're in computer engineering..? i forget lol. let me know what you think once you watch the first episode!
i haven't play any visual novels, because i can't seem to find any ;_; did you have to buy them? or are they online? and holy shit FATE and STEINS;GATE are eroges?? whaaaaat. that's so surprising because their anime adaptations do not seem like they're based off of eroges xd. i also wanna play the visual novel for white album 2 because the ending was depressing as hell. have you ever seen that show?

We can bring our own food but sometimes we don't even have time to eat lol. Like on surgery clerkships we would work 5am-7pm with a 15min lunch break if the doctor doesn't forget about it and also thinks you deserve one (I guarantee you every med student had days they almost pissed their pants because no bathroom breaks during surgery LOL). Often times we just keep 5-6 granola/power bars in our pockets to munch in between patients. Quite sad when you think about it. Our hours get better once we become certified, but the training can be pretty satanic.
I honestly don't even know where the smell comes from lmao. Nah I'm fairly certain tobacco has western origins (though I could be wrong)? China just kinda hopped onto the bandwagon and now is practically an incubator for lung cancer.... sigh.
3 was about the purple-haired sexually abused girl wasn't it? I remember liking her a lot because her backstory was pretty tragic and it logically fits with how she later developed the hatred of murder. Also extra points to Shiki for sparing her in the end. I remembered liking 5 because it was trippy with the east/west buildings but it was clever. I forgot if the antagonist actually had anything to do with the overall plot..
I've only read the manga for Eromanga-sensei so I'm familiar with bits and pieces of it. Don't think most people can look past the rom-com aspect of all the LN authors launching themselves at the main MC lol.
i used to care a lot about the animation style back then lol. like i'd never watch any of the older shows because i couldn't stand watching it with that type of art style. but when i started to become more of an anime fan, i guess i also start appreciating the actual plot and everything. personally, i don't mind the animation quality or art style, but the only thing i can't watch is cgi. yuck that shit is a no-no for me. oof i tried watching familiar of zero when i was first starting to get into anime, but the main girl was an immediate turn off. that type of tsundere is annoyyying as hell oml. lol wasn't the btooom mobile game supposed to be for the second season? like if the game got enough sells, then they'd make a second season.. guess it wasn't haha. i read somewhere that listening to music before bed actually helps people fall asleep faster, sleep longer, & wake up less during the night.. something i definitely need to do xd
holy cow that's a lot. i guess i'll stick with just bakemonogatari for now, but i saved your list thingy just in case i wanna binge watch the rest. thanks for that btw! and oml that's another reason why i hate harems. some of the protagonists of harems are so wimpy and dense. i know enough about infinite stratos to see how dense ichika was. you know the show trinity seven? i think it's a good example of a likable protagonist, because the main dude actually took advantage of having a harem xd. anyways, one of the main reasons why i find harems to be so annoying is how all the girls fall in love with him for no reason, and they literally depend on him and do anything to be with them. there's only one harem where one of the girls actually had a brain and did things for herself which i thought was nice. are you talking about the first-year experience program? i loved the first season a lot more, but the second season goes more into detail on what happened. plus, it fills in a lot of empty holes which is mind blowing af. who was your fav character in steins;gate?
i don't mind shows like that or other people's fetishes and everything, but whatevs. yeah, i heard a lot of people got mad in the ending, because the best girl wasn't chosen. honestly, i'd just play the visual novel lol. have you played any visual novels? i definitely would, but i have no idea where to find them haha. kirino is the type of tsundere i don't like, so it's a no for me. i'm pretty sure some characters from oreimo make a cameo in eromanga sensei which i think is super cool. oh and i just noticed you finished eromanga sensei yesterday i see you *wink wonk*
Interestingly enough, there are studies that showed if you quit smoking for 10 years and have not developed lung cancer, your risk of developing lung cancer actually decreases to almost as low as that of a non-smoker :o
Haha good to hear that he's been at least eating balanced meals! It's comically ironic how us doctors recommend all our patients to eat healthy, exercise, etc. while we live on protein bars, pizza, and fast food everyday :'D
The day we create robots with emotions is the day 2D waifus can finally transition into living in 3D. Rejoice!
Also SAO-tier VR would be hype af
Nicotine is mostly the addictive agent that keeps people from quitting. Most of the bad stuff comes from all the other crap in cigarettes like arsenic. My dad smoked at least a pack a day for decades. :/
Actually if you ever watch movies from the mid-1900's, smoking is a super common theme! I guess it just went on to create this public perception that smoking makes you cool and all of a sudden everyone started smoking. It wasn't until the late 1900's that everyone had the oh shit revelation that smoking is killing people. Now that tobacco industries can't cater towards the domestic audience anymore, they rely on exporting their products to developing countries and hence why smoking is still prevalent in places like China.
Oh yes I've watched KnK - loved that series. Which movie was your favorite? 3 and 5 were my favorites.
Ayyyyy lmao Eromanga-sensei. There's a similar imouto anime airing right now too I think. Heard mixed reviews about it though.
Yeah I understand the attraction of wanting to collect all the gacha waifus. It's actually scary how much money some people spend whaling in those games for those ultra-rare collectibles too.
i started watching anime as a kid, but i watched like the really popular shows such as pokemon and sailor moon. my dad also introduced me to some of the studio ghibli movies, but i never knew any of those were actually considered anime haha. i guess growing up i was always aware as to what anime was, but it wasn't until 9th grade where i really started becoming a fan. like i actually searched for more shows to watch. which show was the one that made you start enjoying anime? for me i think it was btooom. after watching that, i was like "hell yeah i need more" xd. how do you sleep then? or do you listen to music as you sleep?
do you know if the manga/light novels ended? i know there's another season coming out soon so i might wait till that finishes airing before i start watching the series. at first i was pretty hesitant on watching bakemonogatari because i thought it was a harem. i know you already know this, but i freaking hate harems. they annoy the crap out of me. do you like them btw? no judgement if you do (maybe a little <;). oof i have a bunch of ships. most of them are canon though, so there's really no point in shipping honestly xd. but for non canon ones, my favorite of all time would probably be historia and ymir from aot. it sucks how there's not a lot of girl x girl shows out there. i've seen like one yuri, but it sucked. and lucky you ;_; since it's my first year and everything, i have classes every fucking single day ugh. haha speaking of steins;gate, i actually finished s;g 0 a week ago and i didn't rlly like it as much as the original :L
lmao just watched one of the pub g vids for fitz and oml he's hilarious xdd
all these sis cons these days smh. i know there's like a sister love fetish or something out there, so shows like those are probably reaching out to those fans haha. i think there was one sister romance anime where something actually happened. oreimo, i think? i'm pretty sure they kiss and "get married" in the end, but that only lasts for like an hour or so because in the end, they're siblings. i know fans got really pissed too, because one of the girls in that show was the cutest, but she ofc got rejected. yeah i guess eromanga sensei is more on the comedic side, because i've seen a few scenes which were actually pretty funny xd.
i like how Bones continue it immediately after season 3.. (other anime you wait for 2 years or more!)
