I started watching this anime at the beginning of the season and didn't find it very interesting. At the end, given its high score and various online talk, I gave it another shot. However, I was right the first time.
Setting in which young girls work dangerous jobs for the goverment or other is not new. Anime like Gunslinger Girls or Black Bullet have done it before. Characters are stockpile ones, basically. First thing I want to mention, if you are thinking, like I was, about watching this because it's P.A. Works, just don't. Animation is worse than in your regular harem anime.
Anime follows a girl named Chika as she joins Brass Instrument Club in her new high school and tries to get to the nationals. Now if this was actually true you might even have a decent anime, but it boils down to episodic mystery solving followed by adding a few new members to their club. After kind of weak 1st season, I was delighted when I started the sequel. The most noticable change about 2nd season is there was no big plot in play and it worked perfectly for the anime in my humble opinion. It finally become what it was supposed to be, a light anime that makes you feel relaxed and happy and not to concern about some complex story. That was the thing I liked the most about it.
