TL;DR: If a Tsundere and a Tsundere liked each other, would they ever find out?
[Story: 6/10 , Characters: 9/10, Art: 8/10, Sound: 7/10, Enjoyment: 8/10]
Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen aka Love is War, is your simple romcom school anime about a boy and a girl, in love with one another, facing the crippling pressure of confession. Sounds very boring and repetitive, right? WRONG. This show took this super repetitive simple concept and just elevated it to the next level where they accentuate the idea of confession to the level of cold war. Sounds dark? More like sounds dank. Seriously,
...
if viewers became tired of watching the boring romcom genres of yesteryears, then this show will fill new gaps you never realized you even had. Love is War is basically a cold war fought between two genius tsundere school council lovers who are trying to edge the other person to confess to them, just so they can look at them with their smug face while internally blushing to death for finally their partner acknowledging their existence. Sure, the romance is minimal and comedy is maximum, but the refreshing change of pace & studio A-1 pictures knowing how to give smug shots life, actually makes the show worthwhile to watch.
The anime barely has plot but what it has are memorable characters that gives the plot itself depth of various multitude. Essentially the anime is presented in mini shorts where the two main tsunderes, Shinomiya and Shirogame, try to make the other confess. At the end of each short, we are presented with scores of that week to see who is ahead. Through the battle of wits we are able to learn more about the characters past, present and future endeavours. Truthfully, if the anime wasn't formatted as such, then pace wise, it would have one of the slowest romantic stories ever. Where it lacks in story, it excels in dialogues. Albeit the massive repetitions of "ara ara" & "ma ma", the witty dialogues between the characters keeps the show feeling fast paced and enjoyable for viewers.
Beside the slow yet witty plot, the highlight of this show are the characters. The main three characters are Shirogame, the poor hardworking academic genius school president virgin to dating, Shinomiya, the lazy kind-hearted competitive egotistic maniac school vice-president also virgin to dating and lastly Fujiwara, the happy go lucky peaceful athletic emotional memer secretary with big oppais to maintain balance in the council. If we revisit the cold war analogy, Shirogame would be USA, Shinomiya would be USSR and Fujiwara would be Canada just maintaining peace & balance for everyone. Of the three, Fujiwara, steals the show with her outlandish caricature tantrums but as a whole the characters is what makes the show. Not to mention, the amazing seiyuus voicing these wonderful characters, Makoto Furukawa, Aoi Koga and Konomi Kohara respectively gives such life to these characters by accentuating their antics makes it really enjoyable for the viewers and will give them a better ab workout than P90X.
Aside from the plot and characters, the animation is done remarkably well but that shouldn't be a surprise since it's from Studio A-1 Pictures who are known for their breathtaking animations. The panels are bold & vibrant and the use of colour red to accentuate the juxtaposition of both love & despair really well highlighted through out the animation of all the episodes. The OP song was definitely a banger and super catchy. The ED song is not as good as the OP song but still decent. The overall OST is decent but it's well used & executed throughout the scenes. However, it isn't the best standalone OST to listen by itself.
Overall, as a guy who doesn't like romance or romcoms for that matter, I found the show enjoyable to watch. I love a great battle of wits and the refreshing change of pace it brought to this genre is great. You can enjoy the shorts aspect and the episodic feel of this show. It comes off as gag anime at times and other times as something serious with heartfelt emotional scenes. Then again, if you are as emotionless as I am, the smug faces will leave you feeling smug as you watch to see the age old question of yesteryears of "if two tsunderes liked each other, who will confess first?" Hopefully this show gets a second season and not just another boost in the manga sale. I wouldn't rewatch this anime but I would definitely recommend this to others. Anyways, give it a watch and tell me later how you found this anime!
P.S. Thank you for reading. I hope you found this short and supaishi review helpful!

TL;DR: If Chicken Run the movie ever became animated and instead of chickens you have humans and instead of farmers you have demons then this would be the ultimate anime adaptation your sadist soul had been looking for all this time.
[Story: 8/10 , Characters: 7/10, Art: 8/10, Sound: 8/10, Enjoyment: 9/10]
What is Yakusoku no Neverland you may ask? Why it's merely a slice of life about cutesy looking orphan kids... but it's actually a literal slice of life anime. Confused? Shook? Mate, you ain't even feeling woke yet. Going into this anime completely blind of the plot really sets you up
...
for a fun series filled with endless cliff-hangers & heart attacks. If you look at the cover art, it's literally kids being served on a fine dining plate with posh cutleries. If that doesn't give you any hint on what kind of show this could be, then sit down, time to educate you on this phenomenal show of Winter 2019 brought to us by Studio Cloverworks.
Normally it takes about three episodes to get someone hooked on a show. The way this anime ends the first episode immediately has you hooked; similar to how SnK had you hooked. You are initially introduced to these Einstein level kids with super brain power, nursed and brought up by Mama (Loving Motherly Caretaker), innocently playing tag in this orphan house. Whenever the kids become of age, they are sent off to "Neverland" because they are old enough to be adopted. Doesn't that sound sweet to you? Wrong. Turns out this orphan house is a Brain Farm, where they are harvesting kids till their brain becomes prime meal for anteater looking demons living in the outside world. Ready to turn vegan yet? Fortunately for our genius kids, they discover this truth and now the game of tag begins between them and their conniving evil Mama. Will the kids be able to escape this ranch or will they become fodder for the demons? Are you hooked yet? If not, read on.
"You always feel lonely every time you get sick. I didn’t want you to feel sad. " ~ Emma
The major characters of this show really stands out from one another. They are all geniuses but differ in their respective personality. The major characters are Norman, the mastermind that knows how to coexist, Emma, the happy go lucky girl that just wants everyone to be happy and lastly Ray, the edgiest selfish boy you will ever meet. Juxtaposing all three of their personality you have Mama on the opposite spectrum, who just smirks at the kids trying to be all sneaky while foiling each of their plots. It's very reminiscent of when we were kids and trying to pull a fast one over our parents but it always failed because they were always ten steps ahead of us. However, unlike us, these kids seemingly possess 200 level IQ. It's exhilarating to watch them play 5D chess with each other. Besides them, you have side characters like Don and Gilda who are your token overtly emotional whipping boys who abides by the plan till they screw up. It's interesting to note, design wise, the kids and the toddlers seems to have similar looks phenotype wise. It could be that they are probably from a similar gene pool; after all it is a farm. Lastly, the stand out character of this show, is this little boy named, Phil. Keep your eyes on Phil because I don't trust that kid one bit. He always pops up in the most strangest scenarios. There is another Mama but that's a surprise for only show watchers to experience.
"The person you see before you is the strongest card you have" ~ Ray
Aside from the exhilarating plot and dynamic characters, the art and animation of this show did justice to the Manga. Studio Cloverworks maybe a small studio but seeing what an awesome job they have done animating and giving life to this show is truly breathtaking. The panels are vibrant, the animation is smooth and the director really knows how to play around with lighting to evoke dread and despair in every scene in the show. Not too much to complain. There are some CG moments but mostly blended CG not too noticeable to the viewers. Moreover, the OST is just amazing. Both the OP and ED songs are just outright bangers. Definitely worth a listen as a standalone. Lastly, special shoutout to the amazing seiyuus working on this show, particularly, Maaya Uchida (Norman), Sumire Morohoshi (Emma) and Mariya Ise (Ray). They just heightened the personality of these kids to the next level and fans of HxH 2011 and FMAB would recognize the familiar voice.
"I want to do the things that'll make Emma happy...because I love her. I won't let her die." ~ Norman
Overall, I am so glad this was a sleeper OP hit to start of 2019. After shows like Made in Abyss and SnK leaving the empty feeling of seeing cutesy looking characters in grievous danger, the inner sadism in most of us will feel satisfied watching this awesome show. The plot is unpredictable, the characters are multi-dimensional and both the animation & OST do justice to accentuate this show to a greater level. I would definitely recommend watching this anime and I'm happy to hear this anime is getting a second season. Good luck not reading the manga and waiting for the sequel. Anyways, give it a watch and tell me later how you found this anime!
P.S. Thank you for reading. I hope you found this short and supaishi review helpful!
P.P.S. In Japan, Tag is known as "onigokko," and the person we refer to as "it" is called the "oni" in Japanese which of course, is a demon.

TL;DR: D&D meets cringe-fest featuring your fav neighbourhood hero, Sir Goblin Slayer; protecting every potential rape victim by slaying one Goblin at a time.
[Story: 4/10 , Characters: 2/10, Art: 4/10, Sound: 5/10, Enjoyment: 5/10]
What is Goblin Slayer? What isn't Goblin Slayer. Do you like Goblins? Do you like slaying Goblins? Do you like plot? Lots and lots of plot? Even if they are tainted and viewers discretion is always advised? Even if you answered no for all, guess what, you are itching to still watch this show because you saw some vague trailer about a cool hero slaying goblins and you
...
heard of the famous "rape" scene. You know you are intrigued and you just want validation to watch this cringefest. So I'll not waste your time, by giving you a brief overview of this show so you can finally get on with watching this anime.
This anime starts off well. Even though people lost their pants over the first episode because it was too "edgy" for them to handle, the premise was simple and straightforward. The man sees goblins. The man kills goblins. How can this show even progress? It can't. The story sort of continue for a bit then just crashed and burned as viewers had to sit through "plot" after "plot" instead of actual plot. Even the ending was infuriating. It tried to build it up by giving a small back-up side OVA as a recap to jog your memory but it still failed. Btw, when an anime can give a recap episode, 10 episodes in, you know just how much "plot" this anime contains. Regardless, if it's "plot" you are after, watch on.
Now the characters on the other hand, aside from Goblin Slayer, everyone else just seems like your generic side characters. Most of the girls were introduced as different deres because later on they fight to be part of his "harem." The other adventurers just blended in altogether. If Goblin Slayer's entourage didn't have physical characteristics as tails, pointy ears or being a dwarf, you wouldn't even know they exist. That's how generic all the characters were in this show. No purpose, no goals, just slaying goblins and drinking fire wine.
Aside from the "plot" and one dimensional characters, the art and animation, despite being CG from time to time, was not bad overall. Sure they made Goblin Slayer's fight sequences pretty badass but aside from that nothing stood out. The opening song and ending song was alright and in the beginning Goblin Slayer had a nice hard metal entrance song. However, that too faded with time as you get accustomed to it. Nothing stands out and that's the sad reality of this show.
Overall, I personally was hyped to watch this show. It's a fun show to watch with your buddies and just laugh about it. However, if you are watching it alone, then let's pray on the god of dice that you have a peaceful sleep. I would not re-watch this anime and I'm quite perplexed that this anime is even getting a second season. I guess "plot" and "edge-factor" can do wonders for a cringefest anime in this day and age. Let's give everyone a sequel. Anyways, give it a watch and tell me later how Goblin Slayer slayed goblins in your dreams. ;)
P.S. Thank you for reading. I hope you found this short and supaishi review helpful!

*Minimum Spoiler Review*
TL;DR: If every weird conspiracy theory you had for SnK suddenly started becoming true... Well that's this season of SnK for you. From Titans dying like Titanic to Internal Gov'ts crashing like US Stock exchange on day two, this first cour of SnK will leave you screaming... KENNEEYYYYYYY!
If you didn't watch S1 & S2, don't even bother reading or watching this anime.
[Story: 7/10 , Characters: 8/10, Art: 9/10, Sound: 8/10, Enjoyment: 8/10]
"You Levi. You grown any yet" - Kenny Ackerman
This season of Shingeki no Kyojin or Attack on Titan should really be called Attack on Internal Government. From military coups
...
to Historia becoming a waifu boo and Eren slapping himself to stop being Eren, this season definitely stands out from all the previous seasons... good or bad? Let's find out. What originally was supposed to be a 2-cour anime by Wit Studio, they throw another curveball towards fans by making it 1-cour due to budget & work constraints. That's alright since the anime delivers through their concise story adaptation, developed secondary characters, great non-hype music and as always stellar art & animation style. However, after finishing watching it, it will always leave you feeling empty as this season was less substance but more action, overall.
"Who decides... Who will you trust?" Erwin Smith
From the story stand point, director Araki & Koizuka did a phenomenal job taking some of the most boring drawn out manga arcs and presenting them in a different order to retell the author's story. Though S3 seems like it starts out of nowhere as no continuation is felt from previous season, you are immediately thrown into the internal world of life inside the wall with high paced action of people fighting people using ODMG but instead of swords vs swords we now have swords vs GUNS. Great job hooking puzzled viewers in and over the course of this anime we get to learn the real truth behind how politics is actually governed inside the wall. From who's pulling the strings, history of royal blood and finally the truth behind the man Eren's father really was. The best takeaway would be wondering, who really is the hero or rather who is actually doing what's morally right as shown through juxtaposing the childish views characters once had of this world vs adult views now they have chosen to accept. Who really thinks for the people and who are just selfish power hungry trash. The manga arc was boring but the director paced the story well for viewers to bite through it as well as some flashback stories of two key characters in this anime really solidifies Erwin's purpose of proving his father's hypothesis.
"The person that I killed... I bet they were a nice person. Someone that was much more human than I am..." - Armin Arlert
The main reason this anime gets praise this season is because we learn a lot of the history behind characters who we were somewhat curious about. This anime is no longer about Eren but more about the people inside the wall vs the beings outside the wall. From focusing on Historia's growth to Levi's tragic past and shedding light on the Ackerman Family & Reiss Family line, we get a sense of how the chess pieces are moving or have been moving all throughout history for mankind to come to this sort of standpoint. The anime also explores the change in psyche soldiers like Armin, Sasha, & Jean go through as they now have to cope with killing humans not just titans, a huge taboo. The beatdown lecture Levi tells them about we kill those who will harm us as self-defence & to protect our close ones parallels with IRL military soldiers and how they are trained to kill "units" not people. Because if you humanize your enemy, you will have hesitation vs treating them like "beasts". That's one interesting take-way from this season. Also huge shoutout to characters like Kenny & Hange, keeping the anime fresh with their torture techniques. Not to mention, the seiyuus for this season who were able to tell the story more through the anguish in their voice. Huge kudos to them.
"I never said who was right or wrong. I don't even know myself." - Levi
Aside from the somewhat linear story arc & developed secondary characters, time after time, if there is one thing this studio does justice, it's their animation & art style. This season they nailed it as well. Every panel was hand-drawn really well. The action sequences flowed really well. We harp the studio for taking forever releasing the anime but atleast they never flake on us on quality. The background score was really hype throughout all the fight sequences and the drops right before key enigmatic moments definitely escalates the excitement each episode. What stood out most though, was the opening of the anime. We are so accustomed to hype opening songs such as Feuerroter Pfeil and Bogen & Die Flügel der Freiheit by REVO of Linked Horizon that when a slow melodious anti-hype casual song as Red Swan by X Japan came to be opening song fans were lost and confused. This wasn't the SnK they knew and came to love. However, it grows with time and you get why that opening song was used instead of hype songs as this season wasn't about humans vs titans but more humans vs humans. This was what the directors wanted to drive home and by using opening song as this he set the battlefield for just that. So great foresight from their part.
"Go on and torture me already. That's all I did with this blood-stained hands of mine" - Djel Sannes
Overall, SnK S3 wasn't that bad of an anime. Is it as hype & story packed as previous seasons? Not really but given the manga arc the directors were working with, they did a pretty good job. By following not the path the mangaka, Isayama, had originally planned out to this new pacing, it served justice to the anime viewers. Though the studio will take a break after 1-cour and continue part 2 from Spring (hopefully) it will be worth it to not read ahead and spoil ourselves in my opinion. Attack on Titan has come to terms to know what their recipe for success is and that's minimizing Eren's wailing and maximizing Erwin's madness. Without spoiling too much, the series ends with their purpose tied back to the beginning. Definitely looking forward to the next season or second part as that will be real jaw-dropping moment for most fans out there who has yet to spoil themselves. Nevertheless, there is no point not watching this season of AoT. You've already invested in the first and second season, might as well binge watch this season. That's always the best way to watch this anime. The anime is building up to their denouement so why hop off the train now. Anyways, check it out & let me know later how you like it as well as share with me your favourite quote from the anime! Ciao.

*Minimum Spoiler Ψ-nan Review*
If you did not watch S1 then go watch it ASAP or don't.
TL;DR: Having psychic power was never easy but laughing at the misfortune of Saiki is definitely GGEZ.
Bigger cast, more budget, same humour but now more fan service... For guys & girls. Don't think just watch.
[Story: 7/10 , Characters: 9/10, Art: 6/10, Sound: 7/10, Enjoyment: 9/10]
"It's true there are no anger or sadness, but that also means no joy or fun. That's my life." - Saiki Kusuo
What do you get if you throw in the humour style of OPM, MP 100 and Sakamoto Desu Ka in a pot then simmer
...
it with the same recipe Gintama used to gain popularity in the comedy genre arena of anime? You get Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan Part 2 of course. There was no doubt this anime short was a success in their inaugural first season but to live up to the expectation in their second season was hard but they made it look super easy. How? They just didn't stray from their recipe that made them successful. By having good clean albeit raunchy slap stick quid pro quo comedy, often times with relevant memes to crush other wannabe anime shorts' dreams, helped solidify their standing as the best comedy anime short this year.
The story picks up from where it left off last season but realistically this anime doesn't really have a linear story to follow. Each episode is composed of 4 mini shorts of 5 minutes that follows a linear story line. Sometimes they are related, often times they are not. But who cares. You are here to hear comedy not pull your hair chasing hares in story inconsistency. So just shut up, grab your buddies and engage in a good laugh. Heck you could even watch it alone and you would still be rolling on the floor laughing while doing the helicopter. Needless to say, the story always moves forward and that's all you need to know. Some of the shorts were a bit weak & forced but given the material at hand, you can only do so much. Be happy that this will be a complete manga adaptation as the manga also ended.
"My grades, appearance... Everything about me is average. I was born average and I will die average. That's my life" - Sawakita
The best part about Ψ-nan, aside from their comedy, is the gregarious melting pot of their giant cast. Aside from the main 4, Saiki, Kaidou, Nendou & Teruhashi, this season we were introduced to an even greater range of cast. Luckily, each of these characters managed to stand out from one another with their unique character design and outlandish personality. Heck even the most average character in this anime managed to be above average in their character development. This is what makes this show so great to watch. Their character development for supporting cast does so much in 5 minutes that other shows can't even do in 4 bloody long hours. It was always fun seeing them return in various shorts and you started to develop attachment to these characters. The dialogues as well as the seiyuus that voiced these characters went above and beyond in each episode to really drive home their greatness. Who knew the voice of shitty Shinji would actually be this awesome. Great job all around.
"Life is in very easy mode. This is all because I am gorgeous. " - Teruhashi Kokomi
Aside from their dynamic linear plot and outlandish characters, this show puts in their due diligence when it comes to animation. It's a comedy anime short, not some Ufotable level Battle Royale. At least no pans and zooms and the panels are hand drawn for better animation quality. The studio put in effort and they were rewarded with a huge fandom. Plenty of fanservice was weaved into each episode but it didn't derail the anime from it's roots, it only propelled it. Beside their animation quality, the background score went really well with the anime. A good comedy show really needs to get their music timing on point and this show did just that. Although the OP and ED songs weren't as appealing to me personally but others might think otherwise. I preferred the season 1 OP and ED songs more than this season's.
"Fortune telling is just an illusion created by a bunch of people who pretend to be prophets" - Kaidou Shun
Overall, Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan 2 is a satirical school comedy anime short that parodies the known anime tropes that's overused in our anime industry atm. Their main purpose is to provide comedy and with great effort from their staff, they are able to establish just that with their outlandish cast of misfit characters. If you are in need of a laugh, I would recommend starting from first season. If you are lazy and want to watch this season, you can do that. If you are still in doubt, just pick a random episode out of the hat and watch one. What do you have to lose but your funny bone, am I right? I would not recommend the Live TV adaptation because some things are just better in their animated format. Also, this is the last season. Very rarely do we get full manga adaptation and it is truly a gift to cherish. I know I will miss watching this anime. Hopefully some OVAs come out for the chapters that didn't get animated. Anyways, check it out & let me know later how you like it as well as share with me your favourite quote from the anime! Ciao.

*Minimum Spoiler Hidden Gem Review*
TL;DR: If a young Hajime no Ippo made an illegitimate baby with the sexy cougar, Cowboy Bebop, in an 80's themed love hotel with Samurai Champloo music blasting in the background, then Megalo Box would be the gorgeous mixed bastard child that will emerge from the Redline ambulance nine months later. Such a hidden gem but packs so much hype. "JOEEEEE!"
[Story: 6/10 , Characters: 7/10, Art: 9/10, Sound: 9/10, Enjoyment: 8/10]
"They don't make tombstones for stray dogs" - JD
Yes Yes Yes. This is that shounen sports anime this season badly needed to remind what real anime is all about. You don't
...
need bad CG. You don't need blended CG. You don't need Ufotable level CG. What you need is a good mindblasting underdog story, eyegasmic hand-drawn visuals and eargasmic catchy rap music to ignite that flame that you put out long time ago to suffer through random sports anime thrown at you. Boxing anime can always be hyped. There is just something about two people beating the crap out of each other that brings out our animalistic nature to get that testosterone cascading within us and our blood viciously pumping through our veins. Megalo Box just takes it one step further. If you didn't watch it yet, then damn you are one lucky twat, because you get to binge this greatness and I'll tell you why.
"I don't mind dying as long as I know that the faith I had in myself was real" - Joe
This is an underdog story paying an homage to the 50 years of greatness to the boxing anime, Ashita no Joe, brought in the Japanese Anime Industry. It's a similar story however with one twist, mechanical box or gear attached to every boxer that enhances the speed and power of the user. Boxing is already bloody as it is, now imagine boxing with robotic limbs.
It's a crazy concept but luckily this is not the focal point of the story and we don't focus on the gear too much but rather the boxer themselves. This anime follows the archetypal hero's journey but since they execute it well, it becomes a great strength rather than an overused flaw. The whole idea is that there is a Megalo Box World Tourney and our hero must fight from the slums where he threw boxing matches to earn money to face the number one boxer, Yuuri, in the new Megalo Box Arena. Will he be able to do it? Find out on the next episode of DBZ. Jokes aside, from training montages to flashbacks of boxers' background to understanding their purpose in life, you really get drawn to this linear rollercoaster plot that's constantly giving you knee-jerks to throw you off of it. However, if you hang on tight, albeit a few slip-ups here and there, you get to taste the rewarding experience.
"Why don't you tell me your name?" - Yuuri
The best part about Megalo Box are the characters. There aren't many but the few characters that are shown are really well fleshed out. They don't have as much complexity as other boxing anime have but given the limited number of episodes they have to work with, we get to understand their emotional baggage they carry with them. We have "Joe," a junkyard dog coming from the slums that are cast aside in the society, Nanbu, his shady coach, Sacchio, a tech-genius kid seeking revenge against the rich and lastly Yuuri, a Russian husky of a boxer, champion of the Megalo Box arena, itching to find the greatest opponent in his life to give a good beatdown. All of these masochistic characters have so much charisma that they easily outshine the lackluster one-dimensional side characters thrown in this anime. Moreover, with a great deep-voiced seiyuu cast, this show feels so gritty and lifelike. Every time, Joe or Yuuri, speaks, they just steal the scene. Kudos to the seiyuus for not holding this anime back.
"If his punches were sharp, they wouldn't sound like a cow cutting through cheese" - Coach Nanbu
Aside from the linear rollercoaster story and the gritty characters, the highlight of this anime are the animation and music. Seriously from episode one, the hand drawn animation puts so much life into this anime. Each panel feels picturesque. Each panel feels like it can be a wallpaper. The characters are so well drawn while maintaing the respect for Ashita no Joe and the use of lines & variation of pen-strokes just makes this anime stand out from other boxing anime that came out before them. It really goes to show how maintaining a good homogenous colour palette throughout the animation really pays off. The fight sequences are well drawn and choregraphed as well. Aside from the breathtaking visuals, the music is really freaking good. The OP song provides the hype and the ED song mellows us out but the background score and sound bits in the transitions are just addictive to listen to. This anime will have one of the best standalone OST to listen to. Couple that with gritty rap music thrown in at appropriate times in the anime, it catapults the plot and hype even further. If you don't get to watch the anime, atleast listen to the OST.
"Everyone's only looking out for number one,
so why stop now? You're still not done.
No metal on your back so they call you gearless,
right now the way you act sure ain't fearless" - Sacchio
Overall, Megalo Box is a great sports shounen anime to watch if you are into boxing. Their purpose was to celebrate the 50 years of Ashita no Joe and they went ahead did just that and more. They brought back boxing anime to its roots and they showed us hand-drawn animation will never be beaten by commercialized CG animation industry. If you put forth passion and work hard to achieve a goal, then it will all be worthwhile in the end. This anime isn't perfect and everyone always enjoys sports anime of the sport they are into, but even if you aren't into boxing, it's enjoyable to watch as they don't delve that much in detail about how to box. So if you can get past the crazy plot of boxers using mechanical gears & one dimensional side characters, give this show a watch. After all, this anime isn't about the destination, it's about the journey and being the spectators we are in that megalo box arena, let's just sit back and enjoy. Anyways, check it out & let me know later how you like it as well as share with me your favourite quote from the anime! Ciao.

TL;DR: This season has more exploding clothes and foodgasms by packing some hype, some humour, some fan service, all while having the shittiest animation in all 4 seasons for the longest 24 minutes of your life. What more do you want? Grab a bowl, pull down your pants and start watching!
[Story: 3/10 , Characters: 4/10, Art: 2/10, Sound: 3/10, Enjoyment: 4/10]
"It's time for you to go. Go figure out what you've got" - Yukihira Jouichirou
Shounen genre is great. Shounen genre with food and
...
fan service is even better. But if it can't execute it well then boy does it suck hard. As a huge fan of SnS, fans of this manga will be so let down this season with their lackluster display of commitment from JC Staff. In short, Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara - Toutsuki Ressha-hen (boy are the names getting longer as each season getting shittier) was pretty much a train wreck that could not live up to the manga potential and kept derailing from it's path of what made this series so amazing when it first came out. If the previous season had it's flaws well this season definitely did their utmost best to further highlight their flaws. Fortunately, SnS somehow manages to make the fans happy albeit it's crappy plot arcs and dismal animation laziness. I guess if you show enough chibis and titties constantly moaning in foodgasms, people will turn the blind eye and plow through this show.
The story continues off from where it left of last season since this is the second part of that. The Polar Star Rebels are waging war against Azami's dystopian gourmet food heaven. Azami is trying to kick them out of the academy by hosting shokugeki where the odds are always stacked against them but with the power of plot armour our heroes shall prevail... or will they? Seriously this show isn't that unpredictable anymore but it does have slight surprises here and there to keep your umami game strong. I guess it's good they didn't deviate much from the manga but if only they could amp up the hype before each shokugeki or food exams it would make them really exciting to watch. It almost felt rushed. Atleast the season ends well and sets up better for the upcoming season.
"Don't think of unnecessary things, just make a dish that suits you!" - Yukihira Souma
The best part about SnS was always the cast. Despite having a huge cast, it always managed to make everyone useful. But since that's hard and studio was lazy, they just cut it in half. Don't worry it makes sense the way they did it and those that did get cut weren't really that useful except for moaning uncontrollably while losing all their clothes in the process. Anyways, the dialogues between casts were spicy and the major cast at display did great to showcase their justifications for their cause but if it keeps getting displayed using chibis it sort of loses value. Like usual, the major villain is of course, Azami. Although, his villainous purpose makes somewhat sense now from last season but a weak villain is still a weak villain. He just wants people to eat gourmet food. Erina was interesting this season. She has more knowledge than half the teachers in the academy it seems. However, the best character is probably Isshiki. The dude was the saving grace this show needed. If you watch it, you will know why.
"Let's have some quiet, shall we?" - Satoshi Isshiki
Aside from the linear driven plot and stale characters, this show really fell flat in its animation quality again. Atleast last season the show sort of put in effort. This season zero effort. They just kept doing pans and zooms with coloured manga panels. Even the delicious mouth-watering clothes-exploding food felt boring to look at. If the pans and zooms were too much, they just drew chibis because animating background scenes just became that bloody difficult for them. It was just painful to watch. It feels as the season progresses, the budget invested in the quality of animation drops. As usual, compared to the battle scenes of first season to battle scenes in this season, there are significant evidence for animation laziness. Even the fan service is lacking to the point where all people can enjoy are the different stiches for different characters in that show. I mean, you know this show succeeds in exploding clothes and fan service. Give the fans what they want. Regardless of the poor animation quality, at least the opening and ending songs were slightly better but the background music was somewhat decent. Like always, the major saving grace are the seiyuus. Time after time, they are doing a phenomenal job. Azami's seiyuu really stood out this season. Rest were good as well.
"No matter the hurdle, you face it with a smile. You'll stare at your own weakness straight into the eye for as long as you have to." - Saiba Jouichirou
Overall, SnS S3 Part 2 is an ecchi shounen anime about food that is only worth watching since you have committed yourself to watching the other 3 seasons. If you aren't a dedicated fan of this show, don't even bother. Just go read the manga. I rather your money go to the mangaka than this pathetic excuse for an anime. There is another season on the way and hopefully if they can redeem themselves from fixing the mistakes they made in season 3 then maybe, just maybe, this show will once again be worth watching. At this point, Naruto fillers had better animation than this anime. Ultimately, it's not a bad show. Just binge it on the side if you feel like it. Last review I said, "if one were to compare the different seasons to get a better idea of how this season is, then S1 is gourmet food, S2 is home-cooked food and S3 is just street food." Well, S3 Part 2 is the horrible food your gf makes but you still eat it to make her happy. It's still enjoyable to eat but we all know why you are eating it. Anyways, check it out & let me know later how you like it as well as share with me your favourite quote from the anime! Osomatsu!!!

*Minimum Spoiler Nostalgic Review*
TL;DR: Love Pentagon between high school teenagers trying to figure out their future while keeping their emotional spillage in check. Also... Just Because.
[Story: 7/10 , Characters: 8/10, Art: 5/10, Sound: 9/10, Enjoyment: 8/10]
"It's all in the past" - Eita Izumi
Just Because is an original anime by Hajime Kamoshida, the genius behind Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo. However, just because at a first glance it may seem like this is a generic story about confused intertwined love relationships between group of friends trying to get through high school, the adaptation feels way to close to reality. For those that finished high school
...
or those finishing up high school, it will definitely bring back memories of your teen years. This anime shines in the tear-jerking nostalgia department and just because of that, it outshines from the rest of the generic love stories in the ever popular genres of slice of life combined with romance and school. From it's use of orchestra music to piano accompanied backdrops whilst looking back at your past, despite it's suboptimal animation standard given it's by the studio Pine Jam, this under the radar anime is definitely worth the watch.
"I've only given valentine cards to my dad and my two brothers every year" - Hazuki Morikawa
Just because the story is generic doesn't mean it can't be interesting. The story in a nutshell is about the transfer student Eita Izumi, who moves back again and attends the same high school all of his friends from middle school goes to as well. Reuniting with them once again reignites all the unresolved love and drama they had between each other plus coupled with the new friends they make in high school further alleviates this love triangle to an all out love pentagon between each other. The story for this anime is simple but its the character interactions that gives its complexity. At it's core, the plot is linear driven however flashbacks from middle school days are used to explain why each character behaves at certain situations. It takes two episodes to get used to the rhythm of the anime but given what a stellar first episode was and how the anime continue to build up with the different characters trying to figure out their feelings for one another while trying to finish high school and graduate, really makes it worthwhile to watch. Who doesn't love riding the nostalgia train.
"Can I ask him out on a date?" - Ena Komiya
Just because the characters appear mundane at first does not mean they do not possess complexity. The fun part about this anime are the characters. At its core the five major characters are: Eita Mizumi (the transfer student with a crush on Natsume), Haruto Soma (best friend of Eita with a crush on Morikawa), Natusme Mio (old friends from middle school with crush on Haruto), Morikawa Hazuki (band chick too shy to confess), & Ena Komiya (CANON camera chick too eager to confess to Eita). This complex love pentagon really drives this show. This anime takes its time developing each of the characters and giving them enough time and backstory to justify their importance and reason for the love they have for the other. Not to mention because each character acts as a foil for the other and how unique each of their personalities are, you really start to identify yourself with one of these characters. Soon enough you will be cheering on for your favourite ship while reminiscing about your old high school ship. Like I said, all aboard the nostalgia train.
"If you tell him I'll kill you” - Natsume Mio
Just because the animation is subpar doesn't mean the music has to be subpar. Given the fact that the studio adapting this anime is Pine Jam, a rather small studio not really known for their outstanding animation standards, they've done not too shabby of a job adapting this original anime. There were a few scenes that weren't blended well and seemed a bit choppy however, the overall pencil drawn characters gave it a nice cozy feel to the anime. It's funny how despite each of the major characters being completely unique to one another, they were drawn pretty similar to one another. It could be that it serves as a metaphor for life how we may think we are completely different from our friend sitting next to us in class but we are more similar than we think in the hardship and struggle we go through in our adolescence and teenage years with school and love. Aside from the animation what really sells this anime is the music. From the first episode and onwards the quality of the music never drops. From the usage of trumpets and drums to build the tension up to calm relaxing piano medley to reminisce about the past, this show knew how to use it all. Not to mention the OP and ED songs are both amazing to listen to on their own. It really stands out as a complete OST to listen to on its own. Lastly, the seiyuus for this show did a great job in giving life to these characters. Kudos to them.
"No one likes getting rejected" - Haruto Soma.
Overall, Just Because was a simple anime with a generic premise that surpassed expectations it set for itself. It was not only a great coming of age story dealing with high school love and struggle of school to figure out your future, it served its purpose as a nostalgic ride to let viewers reminisce about their past. As the story progressed you start identifying yourself with the characters in the anime and though it was a slice of life anime featuring a love pentagon, it wasn't a cookie cutter romantic plot that made itself predictable from the start. Plus, who ends up with who in the end will really surprise the viewers. For that reason alone and just because how many puns you can make while watching this anime, I would highly recommend to everyone, not just fans of this genre, to give this anime a watch. Let me know later how you like it as well as share with me your favourite ship and your favourite quote from the anime!

*Minimum Spoiler DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA!!! Review*
TL;DR: No, this is not a Inuyasha remake. It's your typical Japanese Shounen version of "Breaking Bad" but with good vs evil mindless sci-fi that makes you question, who would win? Some edgy teenager or some wholesome grandpa! Oh there is also Anime Trump!
[Story: 7/10 , Characters: 5/10, Art: 4/10, Sound: 6/10, Enjoyment: 8/10]
"So, you're telling me... I'm the villain?" - Hiro Shishigami
Inuyashiki is your classic psychological sci-fi anime, by the visionary mangaka, Hiroya Oku (GANTZ), where the core idea explores the juxtaposition of two ideologies centered around a single question: "What makes a person "human"? Especially when that person used to
...
be a human but after a slight alteration with Aliens, they are nothing more than a reconstruction of themselves out of spare parts. This anime is a bit twisted at times when looking at humans moral ethics and at times ludicrous with its out of character "bang bang" fight sequences. However, it is enjoyable to watch albeit its questionable CGI animations and over the top finger banging skills. Regardless, if you don't mind watching a mindless yet mind-tickling sci-fi action flick, then just watch it. The story in a nutshell is about a shunned Grandpa, Inuyashiki, who dies by alien crash, gets resurrected as a machine with all of his feelings intact and serves justice. Little does he know, the same fate happens to Shishigami but instead of serving justice he commits mass murder. The interesting part of the story is that they both have the exact same power and limitations however one feels humanly emotions from saving people and the other from killing people. This very simple good vs evil setup helps us explore and enjoy the show rather than getting caught up in a convoluted ambiguous melodramatic plot drama. The story is edgy and real to an extent that you can sort of question yourself, "well, if I don't know them, do their lives really matter to me." Regardless, the story is adapted pretty well by Studio MAPPA and has a solid ending. Whether it is good or bad that's for you to decide.
"He isn't Hiro anymore. He is just a killing machine." - Naoyuki Andou
The fun part about this anime are the characters. They main two characters Inuyashiki and Shishigami are polar opposites of each other. They are juxtaposed so well that each of them become foils for one another. You have the morally ethical eponymous protagonist, Inuyashiki, on one end of the spectrum and then you have the chaotic unethical eponymous antagonist, Shishigami, on the other end of the spectrum. Best part is, they don't really realize if they are the typical "hero" or "villain" till half-way through the anime. The side characters aren't too well developed other than Andou, who is best friends with both Shishigami and Inuyashiki and acts as the control variable or represent the viewer evaluating the decisions of both. In a way, it just makes this unrealistic sci-fi anime more realistic and grounded to our society.
"I want you to spend the rest of your lives thinking about the people you’ve hurt and the lives you’ve ruined.” - Ichiro Inuyashiki
Aside from the linear plot and polar opposite characters, for a studio like MAPPA, the CGI animation didn't really live up to its expectation as the show progressed from the first few episodes. By the end, the CGI animations in the fight sequences seemed choppy and some frames were noticeably poorly drawn. If they maintained the quality throughout, this show could've been even better. However, the OP Song "My Hero" and the ED song "Ai wo Oshiete Kureta Kimi e" were really suited for this anime. They are fun to listen to over and over again. The background score was pretty decent. However, since this anime did deals with death a lot, maybe more violin background scores could've enhanced the show. Lastly, the seiyuus did a great job. They made every character feel important. The seiyuu for Inuyashiki was spot on. Kudos to him.
"Anyway, did you hear? There are already 10 fan clubs for Shishigami" - A mindless chick from the anime.
Overall, Inuyashiki is your typical mind-tickling sci-fi anime about two people with the same power but different goals; where one feels alive when saving lives and the other feels alive by taking lives. Sure it deals with some moral ethical dilemmas however it's a show meant to not be taken itself too seriously. If you prefer serious psychological shows, then Parasyte is what you are looking for. Nevertheless, If you don't mind mishandled CGI animation and want a good laugh by watching a kickass Grandpa, then definitely give this show a watch. Let me know later how you like it as well as share with me your favourite quote from the anime! Bang!

*Minimum Spoiler Foodgasmic Review*
If you did not watch S1 or S2 then go watch them ASAP before reading this!
TL;DR: This show has hype, humour, fan service, stakes getting crazy high and unexpected twists and turns all in 20 minutes. What more do you want? Oagariyo!
[Story: 5/10 , Characters: 7/10, Art: 3/10, Sound: 6/10, Enjoyment: 8/10]
"I mean a new wave is coming, you know? Riding it is way more exciting" - Rindo Kobayashi
If there is one genre that can always hype people up time after time, it's the classic shounen genre in anime. It's like scrambled eggs. The recipe is very simple yet the execution
...
to get it consistently right day after day is difficult. Fortunately, Shokugeki no Soma - Sana no Sara somehow pulls it together to make it work for the fans albeit it's crappy plot arcs and dismal animation laziness. I guess over the top fanservice can save any show after all, provided if executed right. It's also important to note that the anime adaptation does not deviate too far from the source manga. If you enjoyed S1 a lot and felt S2 could've been better then you will surely have a table flip moment while watching S3 thinking for a manga that's widely popular and well funded, why the hell can't they pour money into it to do justice this show deserves.
The story is alright, not too complicated but just slightly predictable. It's wise to watch the OVA before watching this so you have a back story on who the Elite 10s are. Although the first arc, Moon Festival, is really well done with it's pacing and plot development; the second arc, Central, is just one unrealistic & ridiculous plot line where nothing makes sense but it's enjoyable to watch since it's a chain of shokugeki after shokugeki tossed in with delicious fanservice to quench viewers' thirst. However, don't worry too much. You will always start watching every episode with a big grin and end the episode with even a bigger grin, because, you know why. It is sad that the season ends midway to the central arc with one huge reveal but maybe next season's plot would be better executed.
"Come at me with all your might you pretentious elite bastard. Or do you want to have a convenient excuse for when you lose?" - Kurokiba Ryou
The best part about SnS is that even though it has a huge cast, it somehow manages to make everyone useful. You actually care about the cast since you know sooner or later they will have screen time along with some purpose, even if it is moaning in pure orgasmic pleasure. Purpose is purpose. The main cast returns once again since no one really dies in the show. Moreover, finding out who the Elite 10 are quite exciting. They presented them in the best way possible. Plus, as the show goes on, you get to see why they really are the Elite 10 through their cooking methods & knowledge of food, they outclass the regulars at the academy, especially, Eishi Tsukasa, the first seat. Despite being the best student with his immaculate cooking and speed, he still has his own insecurities and deals with anxiety like everyone else. Though it is exaggerated at times, but it makes him more human than most characters. The major villain is of course, Azami. Although, his villainous purpose makes no sense. However he is a villain and that's all that matters. He just wants people to eat gourmet food. Aside from Soma, Erina, Elite 10s and Azami, the side characters get their deserved screen time to showcase how much they have developed over the season. Notably, Alice and Ryou really stands out in this series as their development have the most impact to the plot.
"There is a profound difference between the abilities of those who are the Elite Ten and those who are not" - Eishi Tsukasa
Aside from the linear driven plot and dynamic characters, this show really fell flat in its animation quality. It feels as the season progresses, the budget invested in the quality of animation drops. Compared to the battle scenes of first season to battle scenes in this season, there is significant evidence of animation laziness. Even the fan service is lacking in that oomph that season 1 had with their gregarious cloth explosions to just mere still images of the characters in barely any garments moaning in the background. This isn't what the viewers want. Give them what they want. Regardless, of the poor animation quality, at least the background music was decent enough with the OP and ED being pretty good like previous seasons. The major saving grace had to be the seiyuus. They did a phenomenal job, especially Erina's new voice actor. She was able to fill the void left from her previous voice actor.
"You can never achieve such a world of flavour just by slapping on bacon onto salmon!" - Kurokiba Ryou
Overall, SnS S3 is a good enough ecchi shounen anime about food that is worth watching. I think at this point, the people who are watching S3 are the dedicated fans, myself included. So even if they skimp out on the budget and pacing of the plot with subpar character development of a star studded character line, people will still enjoy binging this show. Ultimately, it's not a bad show. If one were to compare the different seasons to get a better idea of how this season is, then S1 is gourmet food, S2 is home-cooked food and S3 is just street food. It's still enjoyable to eat but just a bit unhealthy. Also Season 4 has been confirmed. Anyways, check it out & let me know later how you like it as well as share with me your favourite quote from the anime! Osomatsu!!!
