Bang Dream is a Band Anime while Love Live School Idol Project is an Idol Anime. Both shows have a cute ditzy cheerful lead that everyone loves. One loves Bread while the other love Shiny things. Both have pretty cute girl mates and each one refuses to be a part of Band/Idol Group at first due to personal reasons. They have the same vibe and atmosphere and seems that almost no males are shown in their universe. Both are pretty good light hearted Slice of Life shows that deal with pursuing a dream or passion shared by their teammates. Stories about struggles and joy of being an School Idol Group or a Band

Both shows have a love deity that has a mission who asks for the aid of the protagonist. In "The World God Only Knows", the protagonist is obligated to do this task or he'll die while in Cupid's Chocolate he does it cause he feels responsible. They both have serious drama tone while having a good comedy. Both have gorgeous characters and good character development although Cupid's Chocolate does better in this part. Both are a cut above in the genre. Both are crafty main protagonists while Cupid's Chocolates reveal it much later, TWGOK reveals it early. The difference is that TWGOK has some world level goal at the end while Cupid's Chocolate doesn't. The protagonist in TWGOK is galge gamer while in Cupid's Chocolate is someone who likes an ordinary life without a hassle.

Genre wise, they are highly different. As much as Katekyo Hitman Reborn is a long shounen battle type with comedy and Danganronpa 3: Mirai-hen is a murder mystery action tragery, they are both set in almost the same setting/situation in their final season. Ironically, Danganronpa has silently referenced Katekyo Hitman Reborn characters which has been a subject to some fanfiction especially with the main characters looking identical and both being pointed out as the embodiment of hope also having both heroine's the same first name.

if Gurren Lagann had another name it would be Top wo Nerae 3! Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Gurren Lagann is a case of Gunbuster history repeating itself. Gunbuster though focuses more on the science of time dilation while Gurren Lagann focuses on going over the top. Several references from this show can be seen in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Both are hot blooded anime with the theme of never giving up and going beyond your limits

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann could be a direct sequel to this that dates ten thousand or millions of years later after the events of Diebuster. Kamina's poses and speeches are eerily similar to the protagonist of this show. Diebuster gives us the origin of the anti-spirals.
