Just a disclaimer about my anime list----->
1) I'm pretty generous when it comes to bad animes... If it gets a 6 or below it generally means it was bad but 90% of the time I am too lazy to consider a scale of how to rank how horrible a bad show was so I give it a generic 6 most of the time. Should a show actually have a ranking lower than 6, there's probably a damn good reason.
2) Shows ranked 8 and above are shows that I would generally recommend to anybody. Their position on the scale between 8 and 10 determines how good they are out of all the selected shows. A ranking of 7 indicates shows that were pretty much the equivalent of mediocrity in anime. I would only consider recommending a 7 to someone if they really like a specific genre of anime and had watched all 8's or above of that same genre already. A lot of the time I give shows their ratings on a tag as well. For example, a show might have a 9 on the list but the tag says 8.5. This would just mean that the show was between an 8 and a 9, leaning towards a 9.
I rate shows based on my overall feeling of the show at the very end. Was it enjoyable? Was the ending satisfactory? Were there unbearably mundane moments in the show that I needed to skip? Such things are considered.
As a final note, several shows have ratings that are old and have not been reviewed by myself in a long, long time. It is almost certain that for many shows on the list, my feelings about it have changed. For example, Sword Art Online was the third anime I had ever watched and I was left with an impression that I would never have had after watching as much anime as I have today. I definitely have a different opinion of the show now, but I am leaving the impression I got of that show and every other show upon finishing it up. If you are curious what my current thoughts on a show are, because it may be one I have not reviewed or considered in a long time, let me know.
