If you've come here looking for a wonderful story and action packed, uh, action. You should look elsewhere.
This adaptation, if I remember correctly, is a remake. The other one who has a similar title and also in manga form as well and were released much more earlier and has better storytelling to it. Named "Around 40 Kenja no Isekai Seikatsu Nikki" only has a better storylines.
This on the other hand was mostly tiring than enjoyable. It's mostly full of inconsistencies and randomness where you would be appalled whether you were still reading the same series or not. Additionally, you would probably be weirded out by
...
how much convoluted the story gets as you read it. Unless you want a very sophisticated kind of story, this is for you and it gets wilder and more unbelievable the more you read it. Yes, it's fictional but the plots are just thrown altogether, then it would simply dump a lot of info after that to sustain its justification.
The characters here are very wholesome. However, most of them aren't even fleshed out and even if some got a bit of character development, the story would ultimately just ignore them altogether or they go back into being a stranger to the readers. Even the MC looks like a stranger to me most of the time as he always spouts adult-wisdom like there's no tomorrow. There's no real character development here, and even if there were some, you wouldn't feel the change or the change feels non-existent most of the time. So before you try to ship someone to anyone, forget it. You will just be disappointed.
What's cool about this series is that... It's just a decent or an average read, for me at the very least makes it a chore to read it.
If only they could've fleshed out most of the characters and supporting characters introduced, I would've come to like this series more.
There are some characters who are definitely likable but it was only due to "tropes" or whatever you'd call it that made me like certain characters but most of the time, there really is nothing to like about them. Only certain characters are likeable but only some of them was given enough character development to be truly likable. The atmosphere, however, were mostly vague and comedic in serious situations.
The serious tone where it should be hilarious, most comedy routines, mostly fell flat.
This is a warning but also an introduction to what you will be getting. Have fun.

The concept of childhood friends will always be your one true love has always been the one I really am fond of and this one takes the cake, or it should be.
Note that I have yet to watch "To Every You I've Loved Before" and watched "To Me, The One Who Loved You" first, which is this. I will only delve into this movie by itself. Seeing as there's no actual guide to watch these 2 sets of movies, whether the others have said that this one should be watched later, there's no official sequence. If you watched this first, then don't be sad
...
as you can probably watch them interchangeably. Maybe.
A story of a movie should be a compilation of a story that can stand alone by itself without referring to something else but giving a sequel or a prequel to a story should be said and done in the first place, however, this one is quite different and you readers or watchers, in this case, both, should watch both movies or that's what the others are telling us. It was quite troubling when I first heard of it after watching this and it was quite vexing to see this story like this.
[Story]
What really drives me to watch this movie is the concept of sci-fi but more into the romance department. The story itself wasn't really well made and I didn't enjoy most of it, maybe half of it or a quarter. The first half was decent and as the series was getting to the good part, a plot twist happens and it turned the story upside down. So yeah, if you're looking for some romance, you better look elsewhere. As a casual watcher, I didn't understand most of the science concepts of the series or it's probably not for casual watchers where you can normally understand it without past knowledge of sci-fi. However, how they portray the character's experiences and their day-to-day lives was quite a watch. The concept of the sci-fi part may be overused by some but how you actually use that in a story is dependent on the author and I'd say, it is fine enough.
[Art & Animation]
The Art itself was quite normal and I'm familiar with it, as there's no overall focus on their bodies whereas most generic things can be seen as sexual in modern anime. This one looks like it was made for the general audience and their movements were satisfying to watch. The overall animation was mostly nice to the eyes as there are no actual inconsistencies in every move the characters make and I would say that the art itself was quite lovely in this day and age.
[Sound]
The BMGs were decent enough but it wasn't good enough to make me say "It made my experience watching this story wonderful and made it easy to absorb the atmosphere in every scene" This was not quite right. There were parts that it hits and missed.
Now let's talk about the VA's effort for each character. Average. When both Shiori and Kiyomi were still quite young, the VAs really made a low impact on the characters' emotional aspect as if they were not what they seem to be doing and it makes the scene confusing if you don't actually focus on the story of what they're saying but as they both grow older, the VAs finally make their comeback and it gave a bit of an impact as their voices can be seen as both of them.
[Character]
I would say, don't think about it. I was mostly interested in both Kiyomi's and Shiori's commitment and chemistry that most characters were just mob characters, even their parents looks like just mob characters and doesn't really gave much of an impact on how parents should behave or what they could be doing as a grown-up adult. it just doesn't makes sense how could they even exist without even some kind of parenting in their backgrounds.
The thing that I quite like about both main characters, Kiyomi and Shiori, was their faithfulness to each other. Kazune? She was a likable character like Shiori when she was still little but they really didn't flesh out the characters more than I was hoping for.
[Enjoyment]
Well, I would say it is interesting but surprisingly, I didn't get as attached to this story as I thought I would be in the first half.
As it feels like there were a lot of disconnected scenes here and there that don't make any sense or weren't given enough information to be able to be understood by the general audience was quite unsatisfying to see.

*this may contain spoilers or probably not*
Its a jest... >_>
As a fan of the franchise Log Horizon, I really like the theme world building that has many possibilities in its own without needing any other anime to based it from (I mean, who would? Only a judgemental person would do such a thing). Each story has different goals in mind and we have different upbringingsâmeaning to say, a gamer or notâmakes the audience feels like you are one.
I was really in the dumps when the 3rd season really took its time to get animated and since the pandemic, more and more animation got delayed or
...
worst, got suspended but I am glad Log Horizon is still the same ever changing, inspiring story that I love and adore.
For the most part, I always took a glance, as a judgemental person whether the art styles is good or not but nowadays I learned to try every different anime out there whether they would be a good story but has bad animation. This series however is neither of those and I am happy to announce that this is on-line (or should I use "in-line" instead...?! XD) from the previous seasons and gets better by the episode. I mean, who would not love the story that has good plot, story wise, world enchanting and especially the characters that are growing to be a better individual instead of clinging from their previous lives. This is one of the things that I love and enjoy while watching every episode. What will happen next, what twist and turn, what romcom that will happen...
Now about the art styles, its much the same as the previous ones but better... especially, Akatsuki and Minori is more taller than before... *slurp*-oops...
Now let's talk about the theme songs...
Opening song is so AVERAGE that it makes me not feeling good about it but wait, in a perspective of a person that do not understand the language of Japanâof course you would feel that way but when looking up the English translation of the lyrics, its actually a decent song that it wants to portray but was lacking in impact, really.
However, the Ending song... This one hits the spot in my heart. Just hearing this even without understand the lyrics makes my heart aflutter, so many feelings sprouting and many memories getting realized that I am blessed with these friends and families alike.
The story is still an ever changing one so its gets better though I really recommend you guys to rewatch the previous episodes like 2-3 times whether it is Subbed or Dubbed, I think you mostly forgot most of the wonderful things that transpired on those days when you watched it or are there people here who watched the 3rd season or continuation of the 2nd season without watching the previous season? My condolences.
I am a bit sad, why you ask... Because its already a long time since I saw this franchise getting animated and now that we have it, its only 12 episodesâits TOO SHORT, I need more action, adventure and friendship (WORLD BUILDING)!!! I am a lonely person but I can really relate to this story, seriously!
P.S. Next time, make a theme song like *database, database, I'm living in a database* song. That was the most fun song I ever listened in this series but the ending of this series was totally worthwhile because so much has happened that our characters are getting better each day including the NPCsâthe Land of the People. Raynashia is great girl as always... *sob sob*

Finally, this is the outcome I am trying to achieve in real life.
To overcome many obstacles just to get to that point.
I'm sated at the very least and loved the story of OregaiRu!
Who doesn't want to overcome their past mistakes?
Mostly all people would know the feeling of defeat and anguish.
Do you not need any success in your life? Then why do you even live?
For the sake of what or whom? Is there any point in living at this present?
There were many things that his character represents and most of the time, you can only see what he is doing but the feelings he is portraying
...
can only be seen by those who really came to that point in life. I can clearly say that, I'm very glad they animated such a fantastic story.
People will say how generic a story can be but I will say that every story in real life or in fiction will always be a masterpiece in their own right/s.

(You might be spoiled or maybe not?)
The plot's romance and its characters are damn cute (for gothic lolis) and lovely. I can properly say that this anime should be adapted to at least 26, no, 52 episodes.
Such heart warming story every episode, you can see different interesting books that has different powers that its not a redundant but a great way to pass the time while you are enlightened and enjoying every little moments of their friendships.
You can properly enjoy the story as they unfold each episode but the time came when you need to rush it a and was suddenly given conclusion may be
...
hard for the author, I think the anime didn't get enough views so he was forced to shorten or rushed the story to give some kind of conclusion for the pink haired girl in another space. This will be a Classic Historical Romance as they lived their lives if it didn't get rushed of all a sudden. This was an old one but the plot really is one heck of a storyline. I just wished it was given more episodes instead of just a measly 12 episodes.
Overall, 10. I will give this 10 as a testament that what I found in this story is damn worthwhile, its like Deltora but Historical with Romance!!!
The only thing that I hate about this one was episode 9+, I lost where the story will go next because they jump too far that I lost track where the story goes even if we know the final outcome (readers or non-readers, if thou have intuition)âI'd still want to see the they their romance bloom!
P.S. Recommended for people!

(I'll put it here just in case: Warning, this may spoil you, watch the Anime first before reading).
It was interesting to watch, recommended for kid minded adults. There's some Ecchi that reveals being half nude and mating season but it was a little bit educational and cute to watch. I just don't like the way they handled the males art in every animal, you can clearly see almost all female animals has a body of a human while the male animals doesn't. They tried to make this as a fan service while showing a limited kinds of animals which is very cute but not that
...
great.
I enjoyed watching this even if the plot was out of order.
The only thing I disliked about this animation was that they portrayed in the theme song that there were 5 main female characters but was not given more emphasize and only Ranka and Jin haggled the thoughts scenes (whatever term you call it) and Hitomi on the other hand became a supportive character that being a heroine without any realization to her character if she likes Jin or not. They didn't even consider making more scenes for the 5 female characters of the opening theme which consists of Ranka (has more dialogue), Hitomi became a mascot instead of a main, Miyubi's dying joke became redundant and was left to dust, Meimei the cute Panda stopped their joke about her masochism (why?), Kurumi the tsundere cat that I love just became another background character and Yukari's Mythical strength was not seen when fighting the EX Team. I believe there are many different factors I haven't included in this review but in short, there should be more comedy going on if they didn't rushed the job and tried to explore the premises instead of portraying the different aspects of their life as friends in a club. I just wanted it to be balanced and not make other possibilities to be left out which is kinda frustrating.
Overall, I liked it and watched it till the end and not for the sake of finishing it but for the sake of love between Jin and Hitomi or Ranka if you shipped those two.
Music wasn't bad.
The OP wasn't bad but I realized it was based on some song like an adventure through the forest.
ED seems calming.
Art is good but the animation became clunky like its from a cartoon at some parts.
As a said earlier, the Characters need more scenes especially sub-characters.
Story, it has some potential but I was utterly disappointed but I recommend it.

Finished story, I guess... XD
They called this Anime "Ahead of its time" or "Ahead of time" because the story was so intricate that its like the Author of the plot was so obsessed and inspired by Astronauts (most likely).
It can also be said that the Anime or the plot was too early to be released at that time. Even the animation of this wasn't a lovey dovey or cutie pie cliche and any cliche troupes you are looking for at this time and age. You can say that this anime doesn't have a single FILLER or a wasted episode done to it.
No need to rewatch
...
I do recommend it to others because it also has Romance tag even if its not focused on it and focused primarily in the story and its characters.

[This may contain spoilers that you may not aware of, please read responsibly.]
First of all, I recommend you guys to watch the original animation without the English dubbed or you will surely get confused on the long run and you need to read the Anime's English subtitles from the 1st season to truly understand how this story works, what does it wants to portray.
This is a very interesting story after 2 years, I was hoping to learn what happened with the battle between Kaneki and Arima in the middle of the city (mostly he was defeated by Arima and because of so much trauma losing
...
the things he worked to protect). The Anime project was so vague that almost all who have watched it didn't even bother. For its not all about bloodbath.
Its a story where Kaneki lost all of his memories 2 years ago. In a 2 year gap, the CCG used him (not in a form of brainwashing) rather the new personality that was created for him formed a group which consists of Half-ghouls. Which I don't know how it all went.
My opinion:
At first glance, I thought of this Anime to be the 2nd Generation of Tokyo Ghoul like any other Anime out there where in Season 1's Male Main Protagonist became the father of the Season 2's Main Protagonist and became the grandfather of the 3rd Season which became a bit redundant in the end without any conclusions to the story, but I was wrong for that unjustified thoughts.
~Moving on!~
I assure you, like me who didn't even read the source will get confused and that's why many of us here are reading the reviews before watching the Anime and almost 70% who have watched the 1st season didn't came back.
The Anime was quite less-entertaining (in the form of less bloodbath) unlike from the previous Seasons. It was also lacking in Heroines where in the previous season where I could always see the heroine doing her best for the one she likes (but I think it was Love, Touka-chan, I love your Dere!!!) and there are are many questions I have come up with while watching this season.
Overall, this was a very satisfying and will watch the 4th or last season at a later time. The main question is, who will he pick? His past life or the present? Or will he go back between the line of Humans and Ghouls?
It might be a fast paced animation but the feelings to adapt all the characters feelings into a short 12 episodes are wonderful on its own way. Its not perfectly created like the previous seasons but I can say without a doubt that I am glad to understand the story written in the 3rd animation of Tokyo Ghoul because I have the experience to understand all the hints of it.
P.S. I missed the original theme song of this Anime.

(This may contain spoilers, please do not read or else...)
This is a pure hearted romance in puberty.
The first five to six episodes was greatly animated, it tells how much friendship could do you good in the long run. How simplest efforts is always being appreciated and how the smallest things can turn your lives into good or bad situations (at least, that's how I meant it to be) but even so, this story is so amazing that I'd rather make it into a 26 episodes than 12.
There's no sexually suggestive in this animation because all romance I've seen wants to go to adulthood or you
...
call it "going all the way" would be a boring romance story, you only do it after marriage and I stand firm in this belief of only one.
The characters were ballad or more of too silent or not much dialogue to portray (especially the supporting characters that will have a wonderful story later). I guess this animation was really intended to explain the story of the two main characters and didn't really bothered explaining the backstory of each supporting characters, even Hase's parents doesn't exist.
While watching in the middle episodes of the series (I got lazy what episodes it was) you will see some explanation that the story of them took a leap of up to six months (I thought, "Whaaat?!" I seriously love their story so why skip it?), meaning to say, the others after each episodes will be rushed automatically which is seriously a let down.
As you go along the story, there are two supporting characters that will develop their feelings mutually from childhood and I can't wait to see it but was poorly animated or given only little time screen in this anime.
The guy was kind of a close friend to Hase, named Shougo. He was somewhat a loner or go by the flow of time but as he get pushed again and again by Hase, he becomes more interactively kind and his future wife (I hope, more or less) Yamagishi, Saki, his childhood friend and crush in elementary school. I love their interactions on the last parts of the series but was rushed so my head is stuck in this madness.
I feel like rushing my review, but let's talk about Saki, because of her pure intentions to become friends with Kaori, she removes (I don't know how to explain this) the ice or fake assumptions given to her by her classmates and becomes more lovely as time passes.
The two friends of Saki was wonderfully created but in the last episodes, they didn't even matter, why?
Let's go to the main characters, Hase, even though he likes Kaori to a fault. He doesn't give up to become her friend even if he has adulthood intentions to her, he still becomes more of a responsible individual and a friend to her which what I like about his character. He grows even more brave because of his friend Shougo, pushing him to his limits, even if he doesn't show it, he is a tsundere in my eyes.
Secondly, Kaori. One of the best female characters I've seen in this life of mine, she is seriously devoted to her friends and somewhat naive to her surroundings that's why the tragedy of her childhood was happened. She is so pure that even those she talks about with hidden agendas becomes purified by her sweet smile.
The BGM's are lacking but the Ending Theme Song was addicting, the Opening was also good. They make me understand this poorly animated story and their characters, mains and supportings.
The overall plot was a masterpiece but the rushed animation/production sucks.

Only those who read the source or watch the anime can read this review.
This will be my overall feelings for the series animated.
The 1st season was certainly a good way to let loose and take me to another world, I thought this would be like an Isekai genre that will be an OP MC, but later on, I can see him getting beat up even though he achieved the 9th Armophic Bones Stage (I forgot the correct term) in the 1st Season but became an idiot at a later stage... I mean, WTF? His ingenuity became idiocy? I'm gonna puke, he became something more of
...
a politician than a fighter. The story really became unnecessary confusing unlike the 1st Season.
Still an interesting anime to watch but as I said before, this anime gives many terms that I need to watch a good subtitles. So many jargons from budism or whatever religion they took it from that they didn't even bother to give meaning to it. I simply just watched and did not understand a single thing.
The girl or 200 year old woman and our Male Main Character on the thumbnail or even in the theme songs were portrayed in S1-S2 was that of a lover but aren't even developed to be like that or even close. I am quite astounded to so many turn of events even yaoi relationship was there (ending of S1) that I just laughed at, sigh, I thought that prince (whoever he is) just wants to break their relationship as a man and servant.
Anyways, the plot of S1 was going smoothly like Naruto's Anime (best waifu was Rei-chan) because of some fanservice they did with her. The S2 really became a huge mess a made and made a huge jump and I can clearly say that the storyline was messed up and they don't even focused on what they really want to portray. I really liked the plot, story and its characters (the half-assed confession was too much for me, I dislike our MC kissing a babe just for fun and the prince RAN like he was FKIN REJECTED, LOL!?, YAOI REFERENCE AGAIN) but the animation really ruins it for me even though its interesting and confusing to watch. Not recommended for those who are gungho to the plot. S2 already finished the story (rushedly) and I hope S3 never comes... XD
Even if I scored this Animation, I was really entertained and dejected.
I remembered our MC talked to Rei-chan that he will do his best to be in her company in many years to come was quite awesome, I love that part. I was actually looking forward to some romance but hmmm, that didn't end well. My review is pretty much not aligned and I just rushed this.
P.S. So many adulterated jokes and then adding more Yaoi that was so unnecessary.
