Synopsis:
In the beginning of the Manga, you find that Hayase Nagatoro starts bullying her Senpai (Hachiouji) who is a high school loner who is an aspiring artist. Nagatoro finds enjoyment in bullying the timid Senpai and making him participate in whatever activity interests her at the time. Over time Nagatoro becomes protective of Senpai and refuses to let anyone else bully him. As the manga progresses the reader soon finds that Senpai and Nagatoro have feelings for one another and when they are apart for too long they find that they miss each other.
Review:
I have read through chapter 144 and enjoyed it so far.
At
...
what point does teasing become bullying? I think in the beginning Nagatoro starts out teasing Senpai because she has an instant attraction to Senpai. She also realizes when she has crossed the line from teasing to bullying that is when she immediately apologizes. As you read through the manga you will find that Senpai is a high school loner and an aspiring artist. He comes to find the attention that Nagatoro shows him is something that he comes to want and in a way needs. The reason I say that Senpai is lonely is that he is being raised by his mother who often works overtime, leaving him at home alone, in school even when surrounded by classmates he finds that he is often a wallflower, and when he enters his second year of high school his seniors in the art club quit coming to the club leaving him their all alone to draw and paint still life’s every day. When Nagatoro starts coming to his club and teasing him daily it becomes the only way that he can escape his loneliness. As the manga progresses the reader discovers that both Nagatoro and Senpai start to slowly express their feelings for each other. Overall, I think this is an amusing love story between two high school students.
Plot (9/10):
The author has developed a world of conflict, crisis, and resolution in this manga. The protagonist who is a high school student deals with his crush teasing him relentlessly.
Theme (9/10):
“Please Don’t Bully Me Nagatoro” contains the central themes of school life, bullying, and loneliness. The idea that a high school junior can be bullied by a freshman and it relieves his loneliness is a theme that dominates this manga throughout. The theme and plot are both conflict driven as without the conflict the manga wouldn’t exist.
Characters (8/10):
The author creates characters that are memorable with unique with complex personalities. The reader is constantly rooting for the protagonist as he is constantly being bullied. The author does a lot of background and character development throughout the manga which is essential to the main plot and is flushed out as the events unfold. The dialogue is distinct to high school students.
Art & Setting (8/10):
“Let’s Run an Inn on Dungeon Island!” is done in the Shounen style of artistry which includes drawing realistic characters with vibrant colors, and bold features with dynamic poses. The settings are typically drawn with clean lines that are appropriate for the action and placement of the characters being depicted, without any anachronisms.
Mechanics (10/10):
I do not speak Japanese but in the translated version that I read, it was very easy to follow and understand what was happening without any spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors.
Passion (10/10):
The author is very adept at making you care about what ultimately becomes of the protagonist throughout the manga. The plot and theme of the manga are interesting in that the protagonist is constantly being teased or bullied and the perpetrator relieves the Senpai’s loneliness.

Because, he views himself as mediocre and talentless he doesn’t feel that
...
he has any chance of standing alongside the three Mikadono sisters.
Review:
I have read through chapter 99 and enjoyed it so far.
Plot (9/10):
The author has developed a world of conflict, crisis, and resolution in this manga. The protagonist who decides to build a family with the Mikadono sisters and they all encounter a mental obstacle when they eventually try to confess their feelings to each other.
Theme (7/10):
“The Mikadono Sisters Are Surprisingly Easy to Deal With” contains the central theme of “As Ayase builds a harem his school life remains the same”. The idea that a mediocre protagonist can build a harem with the empresses of a prestigious academy by overcoming every conflict he encounters through his innocence is apparent as the manga progresses. The theme is both conflict- and agenda-driven.
Characters (8/10):
The author creates characters that are memorable with unique and complex personalities. The reader is constantly rooting for the protagonist as he is oblivious to the feelings of those around him. Character development for the protagonist and the characters is essential to the main plot and is flushed out as the events unfold. The dialogue is distinct, rich, and vivid for each character's persona.
Art & Setting (9/10):
“Let’s Run an Inn on Dungeon Island!” is done in the Shounen style of artistry which includes drawing with vibrant colors; very bold features, and dynamic poses. The settings are typically drawn well and are presented in a very realistic and appropriate for the action of the characters being depicted without any anachronisms.
Mechanics (8/10):
I do not speak Japanese but in the translated version that I read, it was very easy to follow and understand what was happening with little to no spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors. However, the errors did not distract from the enjoyment of the manga and made it easy to understand what was meant.
Passion (8/10):
The author is very adept at making you care about what ultimately becomes of the protagonist throughout the manga. The plot and theme of the manga are interesting in that the protagonist was uprooted from his life and is taken in by a friend of his mother's to find that he spends most of his time caring for the Mikadono sisters.

Synopsis:
After getting sucked into a black hole, Sanada Shirou, finds himself in a world where women are overwhelmingly dominant, they perform the most dangerous jobs, fight on the front lines, and protect their powerless men who are predominately cooks, spouses, and general homemakers. When Shirou first wakes up he discovers that the mainland is at war and after escaping the conflict he finds himself on an uncharted island in this new world. After exploring the island Shirou discovers a dungeon on the island and decides to open an inn so that he can lead the slow island life.
Review:
I enjoyed the concept of being Isekaied
...
in a world that is dramatically different from the everyday normalcy here on Earth. Many isakeis typically just add magic and monsters to the normalcy of Earth but this manga goes one step further and performs a gender swap by making women more dominant than men. Currently, I have read through chapter 33 and enjoyed it so far.
Plot (9/10):
The author has developed a world of conflict, crisis, and resolution in this manga. The protagonist who decides to create an inn on the deserted island encounters many different obstacles when trying to lead a slow life. The resolution to the conflicts is often very creative and credible.
Theme (9/10):
“Let’s Run an Inn on Dungeon Island!” contains the central theme of “Strength through the use of magic to overcome adversity and build a harem”. The idea that the protagonist becomes stronger through the use of magic as he builds his harem with every conflict is apparent as the manga progresses. The message is integrated into the plot of the manga, which is presented as a conflict-driven platform.
Characters (9/10):
The author creates characters that are memorable with unique with complex personalities. The reader is constantly rooting for the protagonist as conflict is constantly around the corner. Character development for the protagonist and the characters essential to the main plot are flushed out as the events unfold. The dialogue is distinct, rich, and vivid for each character's persona (i.e. captain of the knights, pirate, vampire…).
Art & Setting (7/10):
“Let’s Run an Inn on Dungeon Island!” is done in the Shounen style of artistry which includes drawing with vibrant colors, very bold features, and dynamic poses. The settings are typically drawn well and are presented in a very realistic and appropriate for the action of the characters being depicted without any anachronisms.

Passion (7/10):
The author is very adept at making you care about what ultimately becomes of the protagonist throughout the manga. The plot and theme of the manga are interesting in that the protagonist was Isekaied into a life that is the opposite of his patriarchal world with a unique skill (Creation Magic).

...
he joins the local adventures guild and begins taking on jobs where he transports goods or does herb gathering, which ultimately allows him to level up.
Review:
Currently, I have read through chapter 55.
Plot (5/10):
The plot of this manga is not that creative but it is clear, convincing, and a compelling storyline with a recognizable arc of conflict, crisis, and resolution. The obstacles presented in the manga are challenging to the protagonist in that he sometimes needs other characters to help fight with him. The tension in the manga has its ebb and flow, but overall it generally is expected during his travels.
Theme (7/10):
The central theme of the manga is that of never giving up, which is present throughout the manga as he continually strives to improve his strength and take on ever-increasing responsibilities throughout the manga.
Characters (8/10):
The author creates characters that are memorable with unique and complex personalities. He does an excellent job with character development for the protagonist and the characters essential to the main plot. The events of the manga are action-driven and by the protagonist’s actions throughout the manga.
Art & Setting (7/10):
“Isekai walking” is done in the Shonen style of artistry which includes drawing with large colorful eyes and slightly off-body proportions as compared to the Seinen style of artwork. The settings are typically drawn well and are presented in a very realistic and appropriate place for the action of the characters being depicted without any anachronisms.
Mechanics (6/10):
I do not speak Japanese but in the translated version that I read, it was very easy to follow and understand what was happening with some spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors. At times it was hard to follow the storyline as some of the errors were hard to decipher.
Passion (8/10):
The author is very adept at making you care about what ultimately becomes of the protagonist throughout the manga and the plot and theme of the manga are somewhat interesting in that the protagonist was reincarnated with a unique skill.

Synopsis:
Sakimori Kagami plays a VRMMORPG called Arch Earth Online. He is a veteran player with a name and appearance similar to an elderly bearded wizard from a certain book about a ring. He goes by the name of Danblf in the game, but one day he plays around with an appearance change item that he had as a last resort to spend expiring currency and gets the idea of choosing what he would want to look like if his character was a young girl. After falling asleep the game should have been suspended, but when Kagami awakes from his slumber he is in a lush
...
green meadow and soon discovers that he is no longer his regal manly self but the adorable young maiden that he made before falling asleep. He later finds that he has awoken to a world that has advanced thirty years while he slept and now begins to seek out a way to transform back to his elderly self.
Review:
Currently, I have read through chapter 60.
Plot (7/10):
The author has created a plot that is creative enough to maintain interest for the reader with multiple recognizable arcs with plenty of plot twists that are woven together into a single whole. The plot for the anime is semi-novel in that it is about an adventurer who was a male reincarnated as a female (similar manga: Saga of Tanya the Evil, Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout…) with a twist of being able to transport into the future of a fantasy world (game). Throughout the manga, the author creates sufficient challenges for the protagonist with lots of tension. The series is unique in that it combines elements of fantasy, adventure, and comedy.
Theme (7/10):
The manga contains a central theme of friendship, which is present throughout the manga as she continually runs into characters she was acquainted with thirty years prior. All the prior acquaintances and new characters have immense respect for Danbalf (her older persona).
Characters (8/10):
The author creates characters that are memorable with unique and complex personalities. He does an excellent job with character development for the protagonist and the characters essential to the main plot. The events of the manga are action-driven by outside forces and not the protagonist’s actions. The dialogue throughout the manga contributes to the uniqueness of the protagonist's friendships.
Art & Setting (7/10):
“She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man” is done in the Shonen style of artistry which includes drawing with large colorful eyes and slightly off-body proportions as compared to the Seinen style of artwork. The settings are typically drawn well and are presented in a very realistic and appropriate place for the action of the characters being depicted without any anachronisms.
Mechanics (6/10):
I do not speak Japanese but in the translated version that I read, it was very easy to follow and understand what was happening with some grammatical errors. Overall the manga was delightful and easy to follow, but the vocabulary was not unique to the manga.
Passion (8/10):
The author is very adept at making you care about what ultimately becomes of the protagonist throughout the manga and the plot and theme of the manga are somewhat interesting in that the protagonist was a man reincarnated into a young lady. I just wish that the protagonist would have been a bit more upset or disturbed about this gender swap than what was presented in this manga.

Synopsis:
Saotome Amane is in her second year of high school, and has no will to attend school or even leave her home! She is your typical hikikomori who loves her internet, games, and anime with one exception. Amane is 16 years old and has a twin sister who is constantly worrying about her and keeps pestering her about skipping school. Unlike, the typical NEET, Amane does have a friend (also a NEET, she met on the internet) who visits her and she ventures out to visit.
Review:
I will keep it short and easy as I have read through chapter 34 so far.
Plot (10/10):
The author
...
has constructed a clear, convincing, and compelling plot with a recognizable arc. The main conflict revolves around the protagonist who has to overcome being a NEET or fail out of school. There is a constant tension between the sisters throughout the manga that is eventually resolved with some minor reluctance in the end.
Theme (8/10):
Throughout the manga, the author presents us with a dominating theme about what happens if you refuse to do what is necessary (attend school, work, or deal with others) to live life. The author allows the characters to make the theme more believable through their actions. The message is subtle throughout the story and isn’t agenda-driven.
Characters (10/10):
The author creates a world of characters that are very believable with unique and complex personalities. As I read the manga the characters were very relatable with the main character responding to and influencing the action throughout the manga. The dialogue of the characters is unique, rich, and vivid for each character.
Art & Setting (8/10):
The artwork throughout the manga is very historical to modern-day Japan to present a realistic and appropriate atmosphere and setting without any anachronisms.
Mechanics (7/10):
I do not speak Japanese but in the translated version that I read there were some minor spelling and grammatical errors, but overall the manga was very enjoyable and easy to follow.
Passion (7/10):
The author is very adept at making you care about what ultimately becomes of the protagonist throughout the manga and plot and theme of the manga actively stimulate your imagination.

I will keep it short and easy as I have only read through chapter 20 so far.
Plot (8/10): the plot is about how two youths find love and deal with the trivial pursuits of their daily lives and the trials they must overcome in the spring time of their lives.
Art (9/10): overall the art is well drawn with a clean and enjoyable look. The backgrounds are consistently appropriate as compared to others which typically leave out the background or use star burst for the background.
Characters (10/10): are cute and well drawn with excellent facial expressions. There is a lot of character development throughout the Manga
...
and I hope it continues to proceed in the direction it is going. Characters tend to reoccur throughout the story and are not just mentioned and forgotten
Scenery (9/10): is well drawn with an eye for the 3-D perspective and is visually appealing which, is typically at: their home or school.
World Building (8/10): The world of Double Play is usually very simple in that it just revolves around the lives of the two main characters in school.
Enjoyment (8/10): so far I have read the manga up to chapter 20 in one go. It was a lot of fun and I will continue reading it. I like the personality of the two MC’s and the development of their relationship.

This is an underrated slice-of-life manga that follows the carefree relationship between a nine-year-old boy and his 21-year-old sister-in-law. The story starts with the Honjou Mitsuba having to move from Tokyo to a small seaside town to live with his older brother, due to having asthma. Once Mitsuba arrives at his brothers' home he finds that his sister-in-law is the one who will be caring for him because his brother is rarely home and works long hours.
let's start the actual review:
Story: 8
I feel that the storyline is very believable and is based on the premise that a young couple after college gets married and finds
...
work in a small town. It is not uncommon to find relatives living together for medical needs. There are some small holes in the plot such as Mitsuba playing soccer even though he has asthma and is now living in a small town if the asthma was serious enough to cause him not to live with his parents then this could be an inconsistency in the storyline. This story is easy to follow and the flow of things isn't too fast, or too slow, which is rather nice.
Plot overall an 8, I rated it slightly higher as it is written well.
Art: 8
I feel that the artwork is done well. More specifically, the characters are designed in a modern way and the backgrounds are done with a clear and meticulous amount of detail.
Art overall an 8, I rated it slightly higher as it is there were few frames without a background.
Character: 9
Now, this is the majority of my focus in this review:
Mitsuba (main character): A 9-year-old boy who moves from Tokyo to live with his older brother because Mitsuba has asthma. The character is well drawn as a typical youth and his personality is that of a slightly shy 9-year-old boy. In school, he is outgoing makes friends easily, and enjoys playing with his friends.
Hinako (main character): Mitsuba's sister-in-law who is 21 years old. She is an outgoing person who doesn’t seem to have any social boundaries. The lack of social boundaries could stem from being lonely while her husband is at work and Mitsuba seems to ease that pain of loneliness and wanting to be close with people.
Yusuke: Mitsuba's older brother who is 21 years old. He is married to Hinako and tends to leave her home while he works late into the evening.
Yoshioka Kanami: is a popular female classmate who is smart pretty and interesting to talk with but she is also a blunt and bossy girl at times, and she quickly becomes one of Mitsuba and Daisuke’s friends.
Daisuke: is a male classmate who loves soccer and his parents own a restaurant. He is also a friend of the school of Mitsuba and Kanami.
Character development overall a 9, I rated it slightly higher as even the minor characters tend to be given personalities and somewhat of a life background.
Overall: 8
This story is quite interesting in that at first I thought that the story would have some sinister twist or downside (i.e. turn pornographic or the sister-in-law doing mean things to the boy), but I was pleasantly surprised that it was just a story about family and relying on family to get through some personal tough times.

I will keep it short and easy as I have only read through chapter 30 so far.
Plot (7/10): the plot is a typical isekai story where we find that KojuoYuri, a 19 year old otaku who is an avid player of an online full dive VR game called Elyushia Online, is transported to the Elyushia. The MC, Kojuo Yuri finds that after she is transported to a field near the Demon Forest in Elyushia after she successfully performed an in game class change to Sage and that she has been reincarnated to her in game character which is a cute 8 year old girl. Upon
...
arriving in Elyushia she finds that her level has been reset to level 1, she is no longer in the Sage Tower, and she can no longer contact her friends or the VR in game admins. She comes to the realization that she must now level up and try to get back to the Sage Tower in hopes of finding a way home so that she could see her mother, father and older brother. The Manga seems to follow an RPG game format where Yuri can view her statistics as they change, is given a quest and rewards for completing said quest with one quest sending her on a path towards the next. The author has given a lot of thought as to how the plot would progress and follow a simple linear progression.
Art (9/10): overall the art I would consider the art as well drawn with a clean and enjoyable look.
Characters (10/10): are cute and well drawn with a very pleasant take on drawing them. There is a lot of character development
throughout the Manga and I hope it continues to proceed in the direction it is going. Characters tend to
reoccur throughout the story and are not just mentioned and forgotten
Monsters (9/10): are cute and well drawn, however they are typical of all other dungeon and dragon type games. The same
monsters tend to show-up throughout the story path with increasingly harder monsters showing up as the plot
progresses.
Scenery (7/10): is well drawn with an eye for the 3-D perspective and is visually appealing, however at times it appears as if
the artist took a very simplistic approach.
World Building (6/10): as the plot progress and the characters tend to travel so far there has not been an overall map so that you could follow along their path or know where they are going. There have been a lot of pieces of maps shown throughout the progression of the plot to show the proximity of one city to the next or from a city to a dungeon.
Enjoyment (8/10): so far I have read the manga up to chapter 30 in one go. It was a lot of fun and I will definitely continue reading it. I like the personality of the MC and her drive to return home. However, in the last few chapters she starts having some concerns about leaving the people she has met and formed relationships with. I have not come across any annoying characters yet, but there are a few characters that give off this imbalance feel.
