I will keep it short and easy as I have only read through chapter 20 so far.

Plot (8/10): the plot is about how two youths find love and deal with the trivial pursuits of their daily lives and the trials they must overcome in the spring time of their lives.

Art (9/10): overall the art is well drawn with a clean and enjoyable look. The backgrounds are consistently appropriate as compared to others which typically leave out the background or use star burst for the background.

Characters (10/10): are cute and well drawn with excellent facial expressions. There is a lot of character development throughout the Manga ... and I hope it continues to proceed in the direction it is going. Characters tend to reoccur throughout the story and are not just mentioned and forgotten

Scenery (9/10): is well drawn with an eye for the 3-D perspective and is visually appealing which, is typically at: their home or school.

World Building (8/10): The world of Double Play is usually very simple in that it just revolves around the lives of the two main characters in school.

Enjoyment (8/10): so far I have read the manga up to chapter 20 in one go. It was a lot of fun and I will continue reading it. I like the personality of the two MC’s and the development of their relationship.

It's honestly so wild to me that Double Play is finally finished - I guess.. I’ve been reading this since the very first chapter dropped years ago, and it’s been such a journey. This manga is one of my all-time favorites because it’s so unique and interesting; I’ve never read anything else quite like it. It’s the kind of story that breaks all your expectations.

On one hand, you get this amazing, sporty-romance that is super motivational. The main plot is about our MC, a guy who was basically a genius but completely gave up on his dream. He gets a second chance when his ... childhood friend, who is now a famous star player, comes back into his life. The best part? The star player has secretly been admiring our MC the whole time, and that belief is what helps the MC revive his passion. It’s so inspiring, and the story also has these great slice-of-life moments that are just chill and sweet, which makes the plot feel really well-rounded.

But then… there’s the other side of the story. And omg, this is where it gets crazy. That "admiring" childhood friend is a 100% yandere stereotype. I’m not kidding. She is possessive, intense, and completely obsessed with the MC. And let me just say, the tension that creates is a definite turn-on. The story gets so heated, and the dynamic between them is just this raw, passionate, and kinda dangerous thing that’s honestly so addictive to read.

Somehow, this manga balances the wholesome sports story with the insane obsessive romance perfectly. Watching their relationship evolve all the way to the end, where they are genuinely in love, has been such a satisfying payoff. It’s an amazing read from start to finish.
