Overall from what I have read after having been assaulted by this rancid piece of crap that unfortunately was given the title of entertainment I can understand that there is a lot of history that went behind the show. That however to me does not excuse how inexplicably bad the show was nor does it evoke a sense of sympathy in me that maybe I should not judge it by the standards of what a good comedy show should be. So without further I do I now review.
Story- If the story was supposed to be treated like an action show with any hint of seriousness
...
in it it would have been an utter failure from the start. While the idea of a spirit squad sent from the underworld to protect mankind from the evil yokai trying to invade the world can make a great plot, as has been proven to me by many great anime released in history, in this story line it seemed less like a plot to get behind and more like a second thought by the writers. I will say this loud and clear in that I felt in almost no way whatsoever did the "heroes" do their jobs in a satisfactory manor which is to say that the heroes were not heroes and that the enemies that they were fighting were more like an excuse for Enma to just prove that he was incompetent and destroy stuff. I keep in mind though that this show was not meant to be a serious action show but a humorous show to get a few chuckles out of, this series however could not make me laugh. Quite frankly it was way too raunchy for me to have ever suggested little kids watching it but at the same time when the humor wasn't incredibly dry witted or just down right appalling it seemed to be aimed at an audience with the mental standings of a child, the history behind the show explains this but even so in modern society this sends out a confusing message to the audience of who exactly the target audience for this show is. When I get into the actual plot and driving force of this show...it is broken and thrown together with some back hint of an overarching plot that is ridiculously used to tie everything together in the end in a way that was generally displeasing to watch. The episodes don't really feel connected, which while this works for some shows, did not work for this one at all and quite frankly made a difficult show to watch even more difficult to sit down and finish. This is why I am giving the story a 3 I can see that there was effort put into it but because everything feels thrown together and the story is truly not done in such a way as to make it interesting I cannot give this story a high rating.
Art- I can appreciate old style art work and character stereotypes but there was something that just gritted me ever so slightly about the way this series was drawn. I attribute this mostly to the fact that I felt Enma was drawn a bit to feminine and while I don't expect the main male lead to be a macho man body builder I can find very few qualities about Enma except for his very forced masculine personality that want me to believe what I am looking at is the male lead of the show. I don't mind being called a bit overcritical on this but I feel I really just had to say what I was feeling. A 5 felt right to me because once again while I didn't hate the art it just kind of gritted my nerves.
Sound- Funny enough I felt the sounds in the show were done well and while I may not have chosen somebody with such an annoying high pitched voice to play the already feminine looking lead for the show, I can say that the their choice of vocal cast for the show was at least able to keep me from dropping series from inability to withstand a constant assault on my eardrums.
Character- I apologize in advance, words cannot describe my utter hatred for the characters in the show. Quite literally most characters had the personality of a brick wall with their emotions painted in graffiti on them and any hint of deeper emotion was either buried in a pit so deep it makes the abyss looks like a tall sunflower growing in the summer garden or so shallow it made could make airplanes look like low-flying kites by comparison.
Enjoyment- This was a very rough show, it was challenging for me to complete and several times I contemplated dropping it altogether but I pulled through because I wanted to see how it ended, but with such a unflattering ending and barrage of excruciatingly bad jokes to fall on this series got the one it deserved from me for an enjoyment.
Overall- I have to say that I didn't like this series it was not entertaining, not eventful, and honestly painful to watch. Perhaps if you come into the show with an understanding of the history behind it before you watch it could be considered funny but from what I felt I don't think this will be most people's cup of tea to go with their cake so much as their glass a vinegar to wash down a soggy biscuit.

So let me start by saying I haven't finished this series and that is very uncommon and under normal conditions quite stupid to review a series before you have completed it (after all if you drop it half way through or finish it half-way and decides its bad who are you to call it such after as far you know the next episode could very well be the redeemer for the whole series and all of a sudden bring the spark of life it needed to be good). So now let me get to why I am reviewing this one without finishing it (other than
...
that it has completed airing yet). This is more of a warning than it is a review, if you're planning on completing this series be prepared to fork out some cash because every subbing group out there has dropped it now while I believe it is important to support artist and creators I must point out that the money you pay for DVD's and such barely even benefits them...that's right most of it goes to the company (the same is not completely true for manga and if you have the money I suggest that you probably should buy them). So yeah back to what I was saying you will only find to episode 6 online or at least that's the cap I reached after searching for hours on end for episode 7. It's a good series I honestly want to know how it ends so now I will sit here and wait patiently until I can be the DVD set cheaply off amazon.com. I promise I will come back and give this a proper review once I have seen the whole series but for now you must excuse my unenlightened and slightly negative attitude towards the series.
Story- This story is about the shikabane hime (misguided souls/demons that hunt other demons/misguided souls) and how they must kill 108 shikabane (demons/misguided souls). The plot indeed thickens out more to that but because of the limited number of episodes I am able to watch this is about all I can sufficiently provide you with (sorry blame funimation).
Art- The art for this series focus on a unique combination of well drawn normal looking characters (okay not that well drawn or normal the eyes and nose seem a little strange in my opinion) with the monsters being drawn to be absolute abominations to the human vision (they seem to using a different coloring and drawing style for each monster which I for one think is amazing if not a little unnecessary).
Sound- Surprisingly enough what impresses me most about this series is sound I love the voice acting as I'm quite familiar with a few of the voices I here from other series. Also I love the opening to this series it perfect matches the context of creepy, undead people fighting to the death. This section however lost points from the gun sounds I've fired a lot of weapons in my days and while they did a decent job of capturing the sounds they seemed to have flubbed a little when it came to the sound of the 9mm and rifle.
Character- There the leading role (by which I mean the one we follow around the most) Ouri surprisingly has very little to do with the actual story just like us he just seems to be a confused observer that seems to get more in the way of the real heroes rather than show some bad assery of his own however we have a good understanding of his character and how his mind works by the third episode. Makina however our other main character kicks serious butt this only flawed by the fact that she is so cold and mysterious and that even by the sixth episode we only know enough about her to assume things rather than know them (but that's fine and dandy since that's her character type). Kesei I for one think should be the leading role in this series he's charismatic, funny, strong, and has the slight hint of mystery that you always need to make a good story unfortunately the story seems to be focusing more on his brother than him and that can only need to disappointment (also he's a pervy monk hehe he's tries to give his brother porn).
Enjoyment- Despite my whining I really do enjoy this series and do hope to finish it one day as the way things are left off now I want to near tear my finger nails to know what happens in the next couple of episodes. What can I say I have weakness for violence, hot girls, pervy monks, and killing monsters which this series has no lack of.

Of the animes created in the new millennium (after the year 2000) I have to say that R.O.D without a doubt is one of the most original and creative stories I have ever had the pleasure of gracing both my screen and eyes. I'd go as far to say that it should be considered one of the master pieces of our time (okay not that far but it's pretty good).
Story- Possibly the most unique storyline I have ever encountered combining the worlds of magic, history, politics, adventure and secret organizations (okay when you say it like that it doesn't sound that unique but once you
...
see the series and the odd way in which they express these principles you'll most definitely agree that it is unique). Basically we have a generally nerdy character who likes to read a lot, at first you think nothing special but then she reveals that she has special paper magic powers and is an agent for an organization which protects the world, if you want to calll what they do world saving at all. Her most recent task is to recover a book which contains Beethoven's "death symphony" from a group of clones of histories greatest thinkers and revolutionaries (history nerd present) who have no particular reason acquired super powers (can you possibly imagine that).
Art- There were certain things I did and did not like about the art. Since I'm feeling optimistic today I will say the thing I enjoyed about the art would have to be the amount of realism in the drawing style and backgrounds (which were drawn pretty well) but even more than that the outfit choices I know it seems wierd but the choices of outfits for each character was just incredibly well thought out.
Sound- I particularly liked the voice acting and sound effects in this series one thing I would have to be picky about would be the consistence of sound.
Characters- In order to appreciate the characters you really have to have a feel for history and for your slightly generic character types. I for one was overjoyed to think that Beethoven would create a symphony that would kill people upon listening, well commit suicide to be exact but it's still murder all the same.
Enjoyment- I actually enjoyed this OVA being a slight history nerd and all, but what really tied it together for me would have to be paper magic; as stupid as it sounds once I saw this aspect I knew I had to finish watching it because honestly I had never seen anything even close to it.

Bwahahaha that pretty much sums up my feelings after the final episode. I've been following this series since the first season and let me just say this season has by far been the most funny if not the most irrelevant addition to the story line yet.
Story- To understand where we are and everything that's happening you must have at least watched the first two seasons otherwise you'll have no idea about the whole atmosphere of this season. In terms of what this season added to the series...near nothing we moved a little forward.
Art- I think well drawn and well animated I love the way magic
...
looks in this series and I love how we get a combination of new age and old age technology.
Sound- Probably my least favorite opening and closings yet but it still has what I love best and that would be the killer voice acting which got me addicted to this series to begin with.
Character- So we had some more character development this season which was good I always wanted to know more about some characters not to mention we had some new character introductions which in my opinion only made this season better.
Enjoyment- If we're talking about how I enjoyed the comedy, romance, and drama of this season a ten would be my score however if we're talking about my enjoyment in terms of what was added to the storyline and how I felt things progressed a seven would be my score. This season was hilarious.
Overall- I give this season an 8 although you didn't give me much to add to a storyline you more than did your part in making me laugh and reminding me why at first I thought this series was so funny.

When I first picked up this series I'm not going to lie I was very interested. We have our young hero Allen Walker fighting off akuma and the millenium earl the mastermind behind them all. This series was an eccentric ride so many twists and turns and so many unique story devices that I was often stopping myself and rewatching episode so that I could make sure I really understood everything that was going on. My only real complaint is that even though this series is indeed 103 episodes long it is still far too short.
Story- An interesting story combining a unique array of sorrow,
...
action, mystery, and comedy in all essence this was hands down my most wisest investment of time since my days of watching Full Metal Alchemists and the first season of Death Note. My only real complaints story wise would have to be at times how rushed things felt and the occasional times where you just felt like either an enemy or a hero was too overpowered.
Art- The art was rather impressive we had a combination of the unique dark and serious style of an action and drama anime with the lighter and funnier side of a comedy styled drawing to ease tension and I'm sure you'll agree with me when I just say that some of the weapon (innocence) drawings were just inventive and awesome beyond all recognition.
Sound- This series without a doubt has one of the best soundtracks and voice acting teams I have ever had the presence of gracing my ears. While yes it was not very often that a new sound track was introduced the way the creators varied and used the sound track in combination with the voice acting has earned it my perfect sound scoring.
Characters- Possibly one of the most unique array of characters I have ever seen in an anime. D. Gray-man was constantly impressing me with how they didn't just stop with introducing the main characters and giving them a back story but making sure that any character that was considered of some importance was given a tiny back story and was playing relevance to the series.
Enjoyment- What can I say it was quite the ride watching this series there were very few moments where I regretted watching and even fewer moments where I was disappointed with the way the story was progressing all I can say is Bravo D.gray-man spite the last few episodes and a slow start you entertained me.
Overall- This is definitely a must see anime for any person who wants to say they are a fan of anime. I guarantee you will not be disappointed after watching this anime although you will have an intense craving to begin reading the manga.

So I completed this series not but a few days ago and believe that I'm finally ready to review it.The basis of this series is we have alien (Lala)who comes to earth trying to escape capture who meets this "unfortunate" fellow (Rito) who seems to be this socially inept loser who can't ask out the girls of his dreams (Haruna); events happen and by some strange coincidence Rito ends up engaged to Lala which throws his whole entire world into a spin of alien encounters, comedy, romance and ecchi. So for those of you wondering is this something new no absolutely not but is this
...
something enjoyable...short answer yes long answer maybe leaning towards a yes.
Story- Yeah the story is not that complex it's a love comedy ecchi so it has pretty much everything you expect (mandatory hot spring episode you for some reason cannot have an ecchi series without one). Basically it adds a few new swings to the whole scene but basically most episodes are scenes and scenarios that if you've watched pretty much any other series that focuses around the same general plot you've seen it before. My opinion not so bad I was glad to see something new at all seeing as most series today lack even the creativity to try and come up with a new idea or twist to make their series interesting. Although I'm telling you now I subtracted one point from story because there was one episode in the series that just had nothing at all to do with the story line in any way form of fashion and it only pissed me off for the next week that I had watched it so yeah (its episode 20 for those of you who wish to know).
Art- Okay yes the art was really good. I mean it's not my eyes are bleeding from beauty good but it make you stop and admire it for a while good but this is actually becoming very common today especially in series where the basis is a form of love comedy.
Sound- No joke the sounds were pretty good everything matched up all the sounds were smooth and best of all the voice acting was incredible.
Character- Well yeah it's not as though we haven't seen these kinds of characters types before and you'll know what I mean the instant you watch this series but what kept me from completely flunking this series on characters were the unique and innovative styles innovating to make them unique I mean typically we can just point and go generic character #2 but in this case even though it is generic character #2 it is an interesting version of them with some new twists put onto their character type (alright not completely true but you will notice that some characters do not always act as you expect them too).
Enjoyment- So how do I feel after finishing this series...pretty good actually. It had an acceptable story line a decent moving pace and in my opinion a pretty good ending.
So do I recommend this series as a matter of fact I do if you like comedy or ecchi this is definitely the series for you although I'm warning you in advance if you expecting a lot of drama, romance, and especially action you will be sorely disappointed. And once again a word of warning don't waste your time watching episode 20.

Okay so I finished this series and I felt like I had to talk about it sense it was kind of an interesting concept in my opinion (not a new concept mind you but an interesting one). Yes this series is ecchi, yes it is comedy, yes it is romance, and yes it is fighting all which of which are pretty appealing aspects to guys out there.
Story- Okay I couldn't have given this series a good review had I not been told there would be a second season. The reason why has a lot to do with the fact that very little was actually accomplished
...
during the first season so much as it was set up i.e- suspense! but I'm getting ahead of myself. The story for this series is nothing new to people who have watched at least ten or twenty anime series in their time boy meets girl girl meets boy blah blah relationship builds blah blah harem scheme blah blah you get the idea, its something we've all seen before but yet are still willing to watch to see if they add some variation (which is one of the three keys to anime either being a success or being a big flop)
Art- I felt that this series was decently well drawn and pretty well animated the water looked amazing (okay not like OMG that looks like real freaking water amazing but wow that looks realistic amazing). Characters and actions other such things are drawn well (oversized boobs...apparently hard to animate but they got pretty close to what I think would be a realistic bounce just my opinion though). So art yeah good.
Sound- Okay I looooved the voice acting in this series I loved how the character's voices matched and I mean really matched them so well, Minato's voice was by far the only one that actually bothered me. I loved the sounds sequence and sound effects so on this one a thumbs up.
Characters- Okay yeah the cast of characters was pretty generic I mean I have seen all the character types before (snobby, brainy, loser, energetic, twins, loli, tough guy, psychopaths, villains, and perverts) but still you got love how each character's personality matched their body and voice type so well not to mention that each character tended to actually have some aspects that threw you for a surprise in the end (you'll know what I mean when you watch).
Enjoyment- Okay so I actually enjoyed this series I know for a fact I'll like the next season better because they'll be more story development but hey the first season is what it should be in my opinion (setting you up for the next season). One thing I did not enjoy was the censorship there is one episode that is uncensored (I will not say which so that way if you want to know you have to actually find and watch it hehe) even I'll admit I was slightly happy to see an uncensored episode; honestly they were just censoring it to piss somebody off (the couldn't you have just done that in the first place bell rang up when I actually saw the scene). On a second note though it made me a little sad when I saw it because one of favorite things about censorship is knowing that somewhere out there there is a guy just screaming "SHOW ME THE BOOBIES ALREADY" or letting out a disapointed sigh "That censorship is a bitch"at the screen.
Overall- I recommend this series to you 1 if you like comedy 2 if you don't mind a little mediocre generic action 3 you like ecchi. It's a good series and I'm expecting better things from the second season where I hope they will answer some of my unanswered question. Ciao!

Okay this is my review of Tenjou Tenge. Let me start off by saying that I came into this series with exceptionally low expectations, I mean I was expecting turd quality stuff based off of the reviews I read so I thought maybe I don’t need to review this…I WAS SO WRONG! This series can’t even be called turd quality this is the equivalent of a girl going to her high school prom and getting maiimed by a highschool mascot/lion. This series is the epitome of absolute failure in both execution and satisfaction.
Story- If this series had stuck with something and went with it
...
would have been great, had it a logical ending it could’ve been good, and had it focused on the main characters of the story it would’ve been excellent but it didn’t and in place left a stinky pile of dissatisfaction, disappointment, and disarray; everything to make this series good was there the damn writers just couldn’t seem to overcome their handicap of lack of brains and put the damn thing together. For a good analogy lets say your dad buys you a knew car and tells you to get a drivers license so you can go for a ride in it...you get a license to drive a motorcycle rent a boat and row to a middle of a lake where you then proceed to make driving sounds with your mouth as you rock said boat back and forth before lighting it a flame and swimming back to shore. Damnit how did they mess this up
Art- The art was good a few minor mistakes here and there but other than that pretty well drawn. The animation was good the only things that really bothered me was 1 the way the legs were drawn and 2 the animation sequences for “special attack” moves.
Sound- I can’t really get on them too much about sound I liked the voice acting although occasionally I have to call corny animation sound 3 and 4.
Character- OMG this is what pisses me off the most about this freaking series who in the hell develops the character and story for characters that are not the main characters how much of a freaking idiot do you have to be to mess this up. I knew more about characters that were dead or side characters than I ever did about the main characters and you have to admit that’s just sad on many different levels.
Enjoyment- The first three episodes got me excited I was expecting something good after it then all of a sudden in a tidal wave of useless waste it was all messed and it became number 2 on my list of most hated animes that I have ever forced myself to sit down and freaking watch to the end.
Overall- For the love of whatever you praise avoid this anime series, AVOID IT LIKE THE FREAKING PLAGUE. Read the manga I’ve heard good things about the manga but DON’T WATCH THIS SERIES this applies especially to those of you thinking of watching it after having read the manga JUST DON’T DO IT. Trust me I will have saved you somewhere around ten hours of dissatisfaction and disappointment. Honestly watching this killed any motivation I would’ve had to even pick up the manga or for that matter anything with the same title in it ever again.

A short little story me and my friend watched at his suggestion...Okay I don't regret it but at the same time I could've gone without it.
Story- Story think spirit world meets real world to create comedy. This series was funny and slightly perverted. I'm not lying about the funny part when the dancing started I fell over laughing and spent the next week cracking up whenever I thought about it.
Art- Art was surprisingly good if the animation hadn't been so dang choppy it definitely would've made a better score but hey nobodies perfect and this series is a bit old.
Sound- I was so happy that
...
my friend owned the DVD can you say subtitles and japanese audio I can and I say thumbs up to the voice actors. Also what impressed me about the sounds was how well background music matched the situation most animes tend to just cycle music then again I suppose this series never got the chance to because of how short it was.
Character- Character development was not that good in fact the only real character development I got was when they explained the whole this happened thousand years ago blah blah blah thing.
Enjoyment- I thought the series was pretty dang funny I for one found it hard to not laugh.
Overall- If you want a good laugh this is pretty good series be warned though it is a little perverted so if you can't take a little ecchi humor you shouldn't watch this.

In the end my evaluation of this series when my friends asked me about was that if you don't mind like a thousand penis jokes then go ahead and watch this series. That's right so sue me if that's wrong but that how I felt.
Story- The story itself is a new twist on numerous generic plots those being the animes where there is a master slave scenario (though not in the evil hurting way and more cutesy pokemon way), there is a play on the spirit world/spirit hunter type of anime, and of course your basic girl meets guy plot with a harem scheme thrown
...
in to keep things interesting.
Art- Okay it wasn't terribly drawn but I think things could've been done better so in the end I was a little unimpressed with the art.
Sound- Voice acting was okay and so was every other sound I heard of course jap lang eng sub is best for optimum watching experience.
Character- I felt more could've been done with character development I mean this series had a lot of episodes and plenty of them were just plain unnecessary so what would've been so bad about some deeper character development episodes.
Enjoyment- I liked plenty of aspects about the series but because of some of the blatantly unnecessary stupidity and cruddy jokes my enjoyment was far less than it should've been.
Overall- I summarize this series as a bad joke that's good for a cheap laugh. The romance aspect of it is a little mediocre and the action is equivalent to that which means your watching for the comedy and since I'm not a big fan of penis jokes I kind of rolled my eyes alot.
