I believe that this manga does phenomenal at how first time relationships (especially in middle/highschool) should go about. Obviously some things are gonna be more unrealistic, but that's how any manga will be. But when it comes to first time relationships of any sort, whether it's just a simple crush to confessions, to dating etc... This puts a majority of the romance manga you read behind you. Before I get into the details, I just want to say that even though this story is not finished, I always tend to reread it just because of how enjoyable it is to do so.
Story (9): For a story based around the usual, MC dying and waking up in a novel, it really knows how to grab your attention. Each character that either plays a small role or major role, each have importance to the story. I was actually really surprised by how much I am enjoying this. It's usually hard to find a good female MC without them being a pushover. Sure the MC is the type to "not listen" when something is happening, and has to be rescued, but the actual story and character's background stories are really emotional and heartfelt. I actually wasn't expecting such emotions when reading, and at certain times I actually felt like crying, which is very rare for me when reading manga. I know, it seems like I am overdoing it with this score, but I truly believe Gintama is worthy of it. The art back in 2006 of course wasn't high resolution, considering HD TV'S weren't out at the time either. Even so, the art is very beautiful. The show itself? Hilarious. Outstanding. Never have I had a show that made me laugh really hard but also cry at the same time, Gintama was the ONLY show capable of doing this.
