PSA: If you've been raped or have severe depression do not read this. This is extremely realistic.
I am, man I usually have a pretty thick stomach. I read a hentai and I wasn't even turned on. This manga hit home, not for me thank god. This manga is what I've seen a lot of women go through. They leave it all with some guy, its rare, but I've seen it on both sides. Especially women.
Without having any idea what the general synopsis is, the story has great pacing. It's very simple and realistic. I often found myself thinking "man this is so real." I know
...
so many girls got into that hardcore stuff because some cute guy who seemed nice introduced them. It's not about dating or romance. It's about influence. It is easy for a women to make money selling her body and no one wants to say it but it does decrease your value. ZFor money, drugs, attention, opportunities.
I'm not here to judge, heck, I'd probably do the same. How real is this manga? Scary real. In fact, I want to know how someone could've possibly known all of this. Girls do having dating apps where they pretend to be under 18 and get 10,000 USD for blowjobs etc. I have experienced this.
The review:
Story: Great. Extremely realistic. Scary realistic
Art: You'd be turned on if you couldnt read
Character: Realistic. Extremely fucking realistic
Enjoyment: Idk. Ignore my overall grade because I do not have one. However, this manga should be in every school. It isn't a lifestyle that should be shamed. But it is one that should come with a warning label. I can only imagine the things she had to do, to climb to the last panel.

Story: What story? I mean I wish I had time to get to know the story. Sadly, more than half the episodes run time is the main character ignoring dialogue and fighting. Character development should honestly be thrown out the window; Since they change like two parts into it. I would throw some points if it was shonen, but it is not.
Also, they pulled a fairy tail, where the fight scenes are the characters standing still while things move around them for the most part. No intelligence to it, just "whose dick is bigger contest." Lots of "hahaha no im actually even stronger"
...
will likely continue for the next 8 episodes.
Art: Absolutely Phenomenal. J.C. Staff has never disappointed when it came to art. It isn't the Death note or Gundam of it's time. But it is good.
Sound: *Megumin voice* EXPLOSION! Like constantly, I had no idea dry wall and wind were so fucking loud.
Charactes: We got your pro-typical under-aged relationship of a pseudo reverse harem. Then we've got your dumb American blonde, and hot Japanese guy who is far too cool to engage in character dialogue. Although, it sure would be nice to know a little more about the characters beyond "this is my job to do this."
Overall, my enjoyment was middle of the lane. This anime would've been a hit literally any other time this year. This anime has some STEEP competition unless you have unlimited hours and A+ student attention span. The dialogue isn't emotional (yet). The fight scenes are unprecedented, unexpected, and sometimes unnecessary. My review is based on three episodes, a rule in the anime community. I'd be lying if I said I will not finish it. But the acting isn't very good so I will wait for the dub.

IGNORE the description for Shield Hero, it is not about that at all. I can not say this enough! This anime doesn't give the other three characters any screen time, motivation, or personality. Not one person who rated this anime so ungodly high, can explain Ren or Melty's reason for waking up in the morning. NOT ONE!
THIS is what Shield Hero is really about; Four hero(s) come to "another world," from alternate universes AND timelines. These young men all get good characters except for ONE. A church built around the three heroes hate the shield, and the princess accuses him of rape. This is
...
about recovering from false accusations, judgemental pricks, over entitled government, and learning how to make your dollars work for you; all while hating your life. THAT is why we loved this anime. THAT is what a lot of males go through. BUT THAT is slowly pulled away from in this anime and they spend the rest of it stroking his knob. Shield hero literally makes no mistakes and gets bs power ups despite never learning the game. FYI that is literally impossible and learning the game is the focal point in every RPG or Isekai.
If you like senseless battles and "oh, ill just explain this later" then you'll love shield hero. There is no plot or character development because they finished developing the characters personality 6-9 episodes in. Yet another "no one is bad, and everyone is good" anime. #$%#!
Advice? Read the manga.

The idea behind this manga is phenomenal. So many ways they could have taken it, and like most people it was leading up to legendary anime status for me. This story, is a story within itself, so let's discuss it from a generic how to.
Character development: Character development is like a tunnel. First, the tunnel should start off wide so there's room to close it. Dororo is full of one dimension characters with no motivation or lackluster ones. Characters who literally admit they don't know why they've done one thing or another. Or the motivational being completely wrong and misinformed from what they thought was
...
real. This is yet another anime focused on what characters do and how they live. They do not give any characters priority, and that is why it will fail. I literally do not need to say anything else. The characters are uninteresting, lack motivation, no drive, no good or bad, and new characters are insignificantly cast to the side throughout the entire series.
This anime came out in a drought, let us just be honest. We just came off a great anime season with disappointing endings. We have over valued a lot of anime of this season.
Advice? Don't waste your time, read the manga. This trash will be on Netflix soon

Isekai, Isekai, Isekai. Used to be one of my favorite genre's but unfortuneately what used to be an easy form of world building for someone who doesn't have the ability, time or want to start from complete and utter scratch like Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, Steins; Gate, and/or Evangelion. Isekais are now fan service, cheap world building filmworks. You look at films like Konosuba, re;zero, or even Overlord even though im not a fan and see their clear destinctions.
Character driven plot vs story building plot? Two types of plots. I can't even fathom a third. One, derived off of backstory, setting and the great character
...
building of off panels characters. Like Alfonso's mom, someone who mattered and pushed the plot despite almost never encountering her. Or Madara. Of the guy sending the text messages in Steins; Gate.
However, this...this is somehow neither. The plot itself isn't there. It's almost like an OVA where character setting and rules are what guide it. A lot of Isekai's are like this...in the beginning. Everytime we end a somewhat plot "take off point," we lewd it.
Like Marvel does with intense scenes to make jokes I think it's called Mathos? Or something like that. But they use sex....unfortuneately that's very hard to do and usually depends on a character having an entire personality, background and off panel characters of his own to contrast with others to nail the "mathos" home.
Side characters make anime, anime. Who are our favorite characters? Side characters. No one actually cares about the main character..he's just, ya know, there to make everything else look good. It's what makes Japanese anime GOOD. We're side tracked with animation, waifu's, best gals, weapons, and cool fighting techniques/quirks/jutsu's. We stan different villages, gangs or off panel members we'd love to finally encounter. This anime isn't bad at all; it just depends on "mathos." too much without actually nailing it.

Jesus Christ, how do these guys make money?
I, much like you read the bio, and expected a GENIUS plotline.
Once again, Japanese films fail at what American filmworks and animation studios NAIL everytime. Character development and pacing. I....I watched three episodes of a none mystery anime and have ZERO idea of what it's even about.
Pro tip? Don't just SCREAM OUT A CHARACTERS ENTIRE ARC, BACKSTORY, AND PERSONALITY IN ONE EPISODE; IN ONE SCENE. Film is nothing more than an interesting way to convey information. Thats IT!!!! The rest is just extra stuff on the salad. If you need fried chicken strips to enjoy
...
your salad...well then eat a fricken chicken sandwich. Thats all this anime IS!!!! Bacon, and chicken strips sprinkled on it. Why is the character whose roll is to be interesting having his entire backstory presented in front of us.
Fight Scenes: Guns are so modernized and advanced vs. melee that you usually need a GINORMOUS reason not to include them in ANY mostly combat anime. They said "Nah, scythes are cool!"
Good ideas? Don't ruin the entirety of your work by contradicting the main plot and character. Not really a SPOILER, but really the entire premise of the anime which is introduced from the beginning. Calm down. She wants to die? Fine, for whatever reason she isn't willing to do it herself they're MULTIPLE occasions where she has a chance.
What killed it for me? The pacing and character development. The plot made no sense. Why is the character threatening the other character with death? She can die anytime she likes.
SCREEN PLAY 101: Introduce EVERYTHING so you dont have any ass pulls. Ever since the genius that is ready player one? They find an interesting way to INTRODUCE EVERYTHING so you don't have any ass pulls. I.E. foreshadowing. Its awesome. It also pro typically builds the intensity tards.
In conclusion, what really killed this anime was itself. I think it had MAJOR potential but the characters there just seem unnecessary. When you write a screenplay you want as much lettuce as possible. Then, the obvious salad dressing. Bacon, tomatoes, chicken and the other things aren't necessary. They're tools to drive the FLAVOR home.
Spicy salad? Chicken would do well.
Regular salad? No need for extras, fresh lettuce, a good dressing and maybe a vegetable like an onion to spice it up will do fine.

I thought this would be a 10/10 anime. Beautiful animations and so forth but it turned out to be a bad date. Most reviews are boring so heres my "bad date" review of this anime.
I was excited as hell. I learned so much about her and I was hoping to finally meet her in person. I waited until the date we'd air. It was everything and more. But I had no idea she would Sword Art Online me.
Episode One; No spoilers: Beautiful animation, beautiful women, and I like them a bit tall with chunky arms so this was EVERYTHING after being forced to watch
...
underage waifu's and best gals. Beautiful opening scene which Japan never does as well as the U.S.. I thought this WAS IT! I didn't need 3 episodes to get into the anime like most shows. Finally an anime that nailed the PACING and CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS. Usually we are introduced to 100 characters, half of which don't really impact the story but, hey, the ramen animations are awesome right ? HAHAHAHHAHAfukmeahahaha.
Episode two: I was excited for our date. All her manga exes kept telling me "wait till you see ___." They're so annoying. This, was a great one as well because it pushed away from the usual "protagonist overcomes ____" With three protaganists, and no essential main characters it was YET another trope japanese filmworks never seem to be able to do. Which is why shows like Boku No Hero Academia, Justice League, Naruto, One Piece, and Teen Titans are so interesting.
But thats pretty much all it had to offer. The anime died on me, I already downloaded episode seven so ill finish it. But im absolutely dissapointed in the character development and pacing. You CANT just introduce a character and milestone then retract them. Also, the girl's backstory isn't sad. It's completely unrealistic, and they should've spent more time helping me graph and understand her empathetically. She has no personality traits and im six episodes in.
"Its not enough to just love something." A quote that fits this anime perfectly. Like most japanese filmworks they try to stride through with animation, kawhi best gals, and fan service. Im sure the manga is great but this show is bad for ONE reason. It...it doesn't hold my interests. Hopefully the next episodes help the audience understand the characters and dig deeper into "why." Not how...

Thoughts while watching this anime include, but aren't limited to...
1. Woah, wait he's the bad guy?
2. No no, wait, he's the bad guy?
3. Is this porn?
4. Wait, is she the bad guy?
5. This is definitely porn
6. WHOSE THE BAD GUY!
7. Is? Is this rape porn???? of minors????
8. More characters, but we don't know lick about the other ones?
9. Okay, but is this porn???
...
10. Ah yes, finally some plot and backstory. Oh..Oh no wait; More porn.
11. There have to be better ways to waste my time than this.
I started the anime off quite hopeful up until I realized they were going to play a game of "whose the bad guy," with me. Something Japanese cartoons haven't done well at all at. The "plot" I read was brilliant imo....But our big emotional scene was hinged on a twilight esc romance BUT WAIT THERES MORE...rape. More rape that is. I'll never understand the need to convince an audience that a girl obviously still in high school because they lack the writing prowess to fill the time gaps any EASIER! Anyway, I don't understand the infatuation with trying to convince me youre okay with being raped?
This probably all seems of topic but this is basically what it's about. Rape. I did the three episode rule we all know, yet never discussed (i luv u)

After seven episodes I am...
1. Not attached to any characters.
2. Still don't know the plot and I hope TO GOD they're not pulling another video game anime where they venture into irl.
3. No character development other than P-Chan (the gun LOL)
4. Haven't seen any difference in their online persona vs. their real ones. Which really defeats the purpose of an isekai?
I started out the anime same as all of you, wanting to see if they could recreate the magic from episode one, two and half of three. However they couldn't. Pulling a Kirito (not a spoiler it happens multiple times in the span of four
...
episodes). She gets a "power up." AN UNEXPLAINABLE ONE???
Then she gets a gun which seeeemmmmssss to be a lot better than all the others despite being the newest player in the game and likely the least experienced.
PK'ing never got an explanation after seven episodes. We are somehow supposed to believe a basic level based, grind it, role playing game was easy for a girl in pink clothing to kill players in the sand.
Lastly, all their explanations are full of dues ex machina. It's a crap ton of "SIKE IM GOD MODE." Then we are forced fed an explanation in the span of two minutes.
In conclusion, their was an opportunity for these guys to create something great but they just slap everything onto you. By the seventh episode you'll be asking yourself..."Wait...what? Why, How? From where..."

Hi, im colonel archbishop AfkChaos, fighting in the war against "Netflix isn't an anime." Im currently in A.I.C.O acers. Hiding in plain sight, beside the crops of bad character development. HEHE im practically invisible with my handy sniper rifle.
I've left the comfort of my home to review an anime I used to love, and hope future devs learn from Shokugeki's mistakes.
The first mistake? Well, take notes, because this is what happens when you make a unique anime dependent on aesthetics and art style. The anime is pretty simple, but they realized "oh snap we need character development and backstory. You don't do that three seasons
...
in after flashback no jutsu'ing more beloved and interesting characters.
You want me to feel sympathy for a rich girl whose sad her dad will take the school away from her wealthy corrupt grand dad who uses child workers for money? While her dad is a better chef and just wants the kids to excel and follow the curriculum? Who didn't break any laws or rules??????????
SHE WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE THE GOD TONGUE WITHOUT HIM????????????????????????
Story: No one really knows. Seriously, the pacing is soooooooo bad that we get a different "path" for where its going all the time. Erin was by far the least interesting character and now we are forced to cram character development, changing of the main protagonist without climax, climax, making a static character into a dynamic character, changing the plot, changing the atmosphere (shokugeki), changing Yukihara's relationship with Erin, and developing a love interest. This? This was all attempted in 60 minutes of run time.
Characters: LOL!
Sound: Ya ya same one
Enjoyment: If it's not broken, don't fix it. This anime sucks now. Also, the ecchi atmosphere is gone. Im usually not a fan of ecchi's but it was so well done. Now it's just crammed in there unnecessarily? Like moments that bathos the whole scene. How can I get emotional in a scene where the writer is telling me it's not serious, so HERE boobs????
Overall: Don't waste your time. Pretend it all ended and imagine the rest for yourself.
