Manga 'Kotarou wa Hitorigurashi' Gets Anime Series for Spring 2022

Publisher Shogakukan opened an official website for an anime adaptation of Mami Tsumura's Kotarou wa Hitorigurashi (Kotarou Lives Alone) manga on Friday, revealing the main staff, cast, and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime series is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix in Spring 2022.

Rie Kugimiya (Kekkai Sensen) is voicing the four-year-old Kotarou Satou. Toshiki Masuda (Bishounen Tanteidan) will play as Shin Karino, Kotarou's neighbor and manga creator.

Tsumura began serializing the slice of life comedy manga in Big Comic Superior magazine in March 2015. Shogakukan shipped the seventh volume on September 30 last year. Kotarou wa Hitorigurashi has a cumulative of 1.4 million copies in circulation. The manga received a ten-episode live-action drama series that aired from April 24 to June 26 on TV Asahi this year.
