The combined sixth and seventh issue of Weekly Shounen Jump of 2019 announced on Monday that Mirei Miyamoto's Naruto Shinden: Oyako no Hi (Naruto New Story: Family Day) volume in the Naruto Shinden (The New Legend of Naruto) novel series will receive an anime adaptation. The anime will air within the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations TV anime for three weeks beginning February 10.

The announcement was originally made through the Jump Festa leaflet, which was distributed at the Weekly Shounen Jump booth during the Jump Festa 2019 event on December 23 last year.

Naruto Shinden originally began with the Naruto: Konoha Shinden - Yukemuri Ninpouchou (Konoha New Story: Steam Ninja Scroll) novel in August 2016, which was the first installment of the Naruto: Shousetsu Project (Naruto Novel Project)—a series of stories that would connect Naruto and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The series relaunched last April with three additional volumes, shifting the focus to Naruto and his companion developing as parents and their relationship with their children.

The novel series features a different author for each volume, with illustrations by the original creator Masashi Kishimoto. Shueisha published the Naruto Shinden: Oyako no Hi, Sasuke Shinden: Shitei no Hoshi (Sasuke New Story: The Teacher's Star Pupil), and Shikamaru Shinden: Maichiru Hana wo Ureu Kumo (Shikamaru New Story: Falling Petals in Gloomy Clouds) volumes on May 2, June 4, and July 4, respectively.

Guys nothing in Boruto are Fillers.

Its Kinda like Dragon Ball Super where it has its own story different then the Manga, but both will eventually end in the same conclusion.

for those of you talking about filler, nothing in Boruto is technically filler, it was confirmed by the creators that the manga and anime are both reaching the same end, but are considered different from each other

Hope in Boruto restored.

What hope lol? From the beginning, it was ruined. 80% is likely fillers!

Oh, that’s good to hear!
Last 20-25 episodes of Boruto have all been fillers so here’s to hoping some canon stuff is thrown in from this novel soon to end the drought.
