Both stories are about strong women who searches for what it means to live. Violet is akin to an emotionless doll, and Celiastina/Yuna, known as a cruel saint, both search for meaning in their lives. Their histories are shrouded in mystery which unfolds as the novel progresses creating two beautifully written stories in a fantasy world

Both have fantastic female leads, incredible world building, and a unique writing style that makes the two series stand out from other novels. The dynamic between Violet/Gilbert and Holo/Lawrence parallels each other in a variety of ways as well. VE and S&W check off all the boxes when it comes to a series. They'll leave you completely immersed within their respective worlds and you'll find yourself attached to the characters, being able to relate in one way or another. It's a must read when it comes to the LN medium.

Both MC’s seem dull and expressionless but they’re actually kind souls that save people with their words.

"Will you marry me again if you are reborn?" - a sentence full of life, emotions, and magic. LOVE and LOSS. The two major keywords in both stories. Both 'Umarekawattemo Mata, Watashi to Kekkon shitekuremasu ka' and 'Violet Evergarden' encompass multiple stories of several people into one major frame story - stories about the sadness and beauty of LOVE. Both show that each love story is beautiful in its own way and that there are countless types of love - romantic love, love between parents and children, love between siblings or friends, and even love between two strangers. While 'Violet Evergarden' goes deeper and deals with the  read more

The premises are nearly identical. Although that's not where the similarities end, since both also have somewhat similar all-encompassing themes, Violent Evergarden has a more dark, whimsical tone.

At first glance, these two have nothing in common. But if we take a deeper look, we can see that these are two stories about a futuristic world/dystopia and about learning ways to convey feelings. Violet Evergarden heavily relies on the slice of life, episodic format, while Melancholy World delivers Slice-of-life with romance with a connected plot where the main characters are developed. If you enjoy beautiful artwork or very beautiful, poetic quotes, you'll find them in both. In both, we have a heroine which is a special girl with an uncanny ability that was used for research/military purposes and had a lonely existence. She  read more

Young girl travels around the world and interracts with various people, learning their stories and maybe helping them. Both girsl also scarcely shows emotions, have military experience and can defend themselves without a problem, thought their look might suggest otherwise.

Protagonist has to travel around because of their occupation which helps various people, and as they do the protagonist also finds out about life stories of those people.

Letter Bee and Violet Evergarden are beautiful stories about delivering meaningful letters. Both feature an alternative world where the protagonist is not entirely human and is entitled to deliver those very special letters to different clients. The settings seem to be European-inspired, vintage style, with a hint of sci-fi, as Experiments (Tegami Bachi) and Dolls (Violet Evergarden) are made. Also to mention that the protagonist lost someone very dear to him/her and that lead to his/her current path. Both are slice-of-life with a little bit of adventure/action and amazing artwork, so if you liked one, you'll probably enjoy the other.
