Preliminary Spoiler
Jul 15, 2011
In 2006 a game was released for the Xbox 360 that surprised quite a few gamers with its uninspired game play, poor level design and terrible dialogue. After receiving largely negative reviews from both critics and gamers, Bullet Witch quickly sank into obscurity and poor sales have thankfully prevented a sequel from being made. What many people didn't realise was that the game took a great deal of inspiration for its main character from a manga by Katakura Masanori that began serialisation in Monthly Shounen Jump four years earlier.

So how does Mahou Tsukai Kurohime compare to a game that received widespread criticism?

The story begins with ...

When i started to read Kurohime I thought it would be a common action-adventure story but i got inmersed in the story in less time than in the common, i just got in love whit the characters, excluidings some minor flaws, the art its great I can easily understand whats happening in the story, I greatly recommend this manga and wait for a posible anime.

This is the first review I actually tried to write seriously, so please give me some tips on what I should do to make it better, as I know this review is far from perfect. Arigatou. ~

Kurohime was the first manga I ever read. (By the way, Rosario + Vampire was the first anime i've ever seen.) However, despite all the mangas I've read afterwards in my four years of . . . otakuness, for lack of a better word, Kurohime is still one of my favorites and I am just infuriated that it is not more popular.

So why should you bother to read ...

At first it doesn't seem promising but after the first volume it does its magic. It's a manga that goes unnoticed most of the time, the cause of this could either relate to the unknown mangaka or the fact that at first it's mistaken to be like all typical shounen mangas.
My decision to write a review on this one was to offer you my point of view.

Story 8/10
The story of this manga is being told quite nicely. It unravels softly and slowly with no problems concerning its telling(maybe one or two) or leaving holes behind. The way it is told mostly resembles a legend, but that's the charm of it.It ...

To start off with, the main reason I took interest in this manga, is it had a character named Zero in it. I read some reviews and most say after chapter 15 it goes down hill. Well I can tell ya right now, it doesn't go down hill, at least for me it didn't. I really enjoyed reading this anime, especially being only my 2nd anime I've ever read.

The story will suck you in and you will get hooked before you know it. It was really hard not to read this every day of every second once I got started. ...

Not many battle type manga/anime stories have the main character be a girl. The main character Kurohime is a tragic hero and is seen more as villain at the beginning. The overall setting fells exactly like "Trigun " but with a twist. You have people shooting guns filled with magic bullets fighting gods, demons, angles , reapers, and spirits. It has has playful humor and a dark serious side. Battle scenes are over the top and filled with fantasy and magic. the characters are well done but most of the characters are female. I felt that the guys in story weren't always detailed and ...

I'm writing this while watching a TV series on Hulu so don't expect much.
Story: 10. Barring the ending the story was executed well and the plot moved smoothly from one climax to the next. Rei - Zero twist was confusing but interesting
Art: 7. Art was amazing save for one thing. What the fuck does Kurohime look like?! She fucking looks different EVERY CHAPTER. It's not that she doesn't look better (in the beginning she looks more like a 70's w**** compared to a badass sorcerer or whatever) but the inconsistency takes away from the story. Otherwise art would be a 10
Character: 10. Character was amazing. ...

This manga should get a lot more credit. In the beginning of the series, the same sort of battles continuously happen with minor character development (with the help of love). However, the start of the story is interesting and very funny. Also, the interactions between the two main characters are always fun to watch. The battles outweigh the flowery romance bit and make it more exciting. It's really cool and fun to read, with love-hate relationships between the bad guys and interesting and wicked characters that emerge to get revenge on Hime, the female main character. The series continues with this sort of routine system ...
