When I first started watching Akagi, I didn't really like the graphics at all in this anime. Everyone looked really similar to being the same and it just wasn't that great. The more I watched though, the more it went with the anime in a whole so I appreciated how everything looked the more I watched it.

After you get a few episodes in, it will suck you in to where you will want to watch the next one. Of course a guy who can look death in the eye and not flinch is interesting enough but using Mahjong as one of the ... tools. Mahjong isn't the soul basis of this anime but they gamble a lot so it revolves around the game. You'll see other aspects of Akagi facing off death through out the anime to show the type of person he really is.

I couldn't really learn how to play Mahjong from this anime, so if you're looking for an anime to help you in that reguards, don't count on it with this one.

Now to talk about the ending. It gets really good and it really builds you up but towards the end, they repeat stuff repeatedly over and over again. You'll find yourslef saying enough already and get on with it. It gets old quick.

They do a very good job of buliding up the end and you're pumped up but then you'll realize this anime ends at 26 episodes. They cut it off and you don't get to see what they pumped you up for this whole time. It is truely utter crap. They should have quit repeating stuff and spent more time coming up with a good ending and not end it with a lameness. That just kills this anime for me.

So if you can deal with what I've said above, you'll enjoy it to a point but in the end, you'll be disappointed overall as it could have been a top notch anime.

To start off with, the main reason I took interest in this manga, is it had a character named Zero in it. I read some reviews and most say after chapter 15 it goes down hill. Well I can tell ya right now, it doesn't go down hill, at least for me it didn't. I really enjoyed reading this anime, especially being only my 2nd anime I've ever read.

The story will suck you in and you will get hooked before you know it. It was really hard not to read this every day of every second once I got started. ...

The way they drew everything really easy on the eyes and flowed very well from page to page.

I also loved how Kurohime has so many different appearances throughout the anime for what's going on or what has happened to her. Zero was also a very good character and I was happy the way he was tied into the story and changing Kurohime from one type of person into another by showing Kurohime what true love is. Which as soon as she finds that, Zero dies, which is Ch 15 and she's running around without him losing her memories of him in which she regains her powers. The best part will come later on when she learns Zero has a brother Rei.

The rest you'll need to read to find out. That way you can enjoy it as much as I did.

Watching the 1st episode will catch your attention enough to make you wonder what the next one will bring. Which is good as some animes don't give you enough sometimes in the first episode to want to continue.

Once you get through a few more, you will be intrigued by the story and wanting to learn more. As time goes on though I ended up wishing for more of the past to come forth. The anime ends with him wanting to learn more of his past but since it ends and you know the direction he's going, it doesn't tell you everything. ... The fact it ends and the series doesn't continue is something I don't like. They should have made a 2nd series to this anime.

You will see small fights through out the anime. At the end you will see a bunch of fights going on all at once but like all the rest, you don't get to really see fights. At the beginning it was neat how it didn't take much where a fight would kinda start but then a Ghost would take out the enemy in one swipe but when the real fights happened, I was wanting to see more of the Ghosts and their abilities but that didn't happen. Still dont know who all the 7 Ghosts are either.

The graphics and sound were good. I still love the church bell at the beginning of the anime. It definitely signifies what you are watching.

Overall I enjoyed this anime but it left off where I wanted more info and wanting to see more. A 2nd series could fully cover this if they would make it.

Basilisk is a very good anime to watch. The different type of fighting styles from each of the 2 ninja clans is very neat to see. It really is a contest to see who has the best skills among them all. Being able to infiltrate each others camps, to sneak attacks, to just plain fooling the other side thinking it's this way when it's not.

The characters were done very well to represent the type of fighting style they used as it reflected who they were and went right along with their personalities.

The story is the basis of love but the hatred from ... the clans makes it impossible for either side let it happen. Which is your typical story for most things. So the fighting is what's gonna make you want to watch each episode to see what all the characters can do.

This isn't your typical fighting anime with swords and cool moves. This anime is based off a board game called Go. I had never heard of it until this but this anime teaches you about the game as you play it so you understand more and more as the anime progresses.

The fighting in this game takes place on the board with 2 people going at it trying to win. The way they build it up and pull you into this sucks you into this anime. By the time you finish it, you'll be wanting to play Go so badly you'll have ... to go out and play it on your own. It's hard to believe an anime could do that but it has that appeal. I really wish it wouldn't have ended and they had made more.
