Erminia and Oscar, from the Rose of Versailles, both wish to be males. There is no yuri relationship in the Rose of Versailles, but Rosalie, similar to Fiona, have yuri feelings for Oscar.

Marie-Antoinette recounts the same events as RoV, with a focus on Marie-Antoinette herself as the name suggests.

Both mangas are historical about France pre-revolution and they even have almost the same characters and historical happenings too, altough one is shoujo and the other is seinen (and a bit gore).

Both have tom boy-ish woman and Princesses. a great story line and historic elements. also the drawing styles remind me of each other

Both manga combine shoujo romance with a historical setting, albeit a different: Anatolia Story concerns the Hittite empire (located in modern-day Turkey) whereas Rose of Versailles represents France before and during the French Revolution. It must be mentioned though that Anatolia Story is a historical fantasy work rather than a more down-to-earth historical, unlike in Rose of Versailles (where there are no supernatural elements).

Set in important historical time periods of a state that was once a major colonial empire based in Europe: 1. Emma is set in Great Britain during the late Victorian era, including the turn towards the 20th century. 2. Rose of Versailles is set in 18th century France, and covers the life of Marie Antoinette as well as related happenings up until her execution during the Reign of Terror. Both are highly based on romance but at the same time are also well-researched representations of these countries during each respective era.

A royal/noble father needs his next child to be a boy, but a girl is born instead. The protagonist is then raised to be a male successor, trained in sword-fighting, and is forced to wear male clothes. They have themes regarding gender-identity and the fight for political freedom. They also have historical Western settings, with Versailles no Bara being set in 18th Century France and Ribbon no Kishi being set in a fairy-tale-esque medieval European kingdom.

Gaksital and Rose of Versailles have a lot in common. Both of them take place within a specific country, Gaksital in Korea and Rose of Versailles in France. They're both stories of real-life events that took place during each countries respective tragic eras [Korea (1930) and France (late 1700s)]. 1930s Korea was under the oppressive rule of Coloniel Japan and thousands of Koreans were being raped, enslaved and slaughtered. 1700s France was going through a time of revolution because of the corruption of the government, and thousands of people were dead by the time the Reign of Terror ended. Both the main characters are somewhat similar  read more

If Berserk had parents, they'd be Fist of the North Star and Versailles no Bara. The specific blend of shonen and shoujo tropes that Berserk exhibits owes a lot to Kentaro Miura's love of works like Versailles no Bara, and some events of the golden age arc of Berserk could almost be seen as an homage to it as a result. The settings are, as such, quite similar, barring certain events in Berserk that take things in a more gritty direction, while VnB is a character drama/tragedy set against the backdrop of the French revolution. Most would agree that the golden age arc of Berserk  read more

Historical manga with some fictionalized (but no supermatural) elements about the french court during the times of Marie Antoinette.

Both are based on historical events with a few fictional characters added as a main characters. They both also have female leads dressed as men and are skilled swordsman; though in "Kaze Hikaru", Sei has to hide that she is a girl, while in "Rose of Versailles", everyone is aware that Oscar is a girl.

They are from the same mangaka, the main character in "Rose" also fells and acts like a man, her father raises her like a boy and the other people see her in the same way.
