There is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if you don't know how long that tunnel is. Two of the most inspiring and realistic manga out there, both penned by Inio Asano.

Collection of slice of life stories that show raw adult drama, a stories of "daily" life, yet wild, yet strangely relatable.

A lot of bleakness with a touch of black humour and, ultimately, a note of hopefulness that suggests it's not all as pointless as it often seems. Both works switch around between a bunch of at first seemingly unrelated stories with the ties between them becoming clearer the longer you read. There's a realism in the atmosphere and characterization and a questionably mystic touch filling in the cracks that I can only think to call Asano Inio's signature style.

Similarities: + Both by Asano Inio and have amazing artwork + Tell tragic yet realistic stories of many different people all struggling to live their difficult lives Differences: - Oyasumi Punpun is much more psychological and focuses only on Punpun and a few of his friends while Subarashii Sekai focuses on much less connected people

Similarities: + Both are by Asano Inio and tell the somewhat interconnected stories of a several different people/couples living in an urban area + Similar feelings (Asano Inio's manga all tend to have similar feelings though)

Both tales feature a multitude of smaller narratives that are vaguely interconnected, forming a grander tale of human connection. They involve large casts with charming and memorable characters and chapters can range from comedic to tragic.
