Preliminary Spoiler

i hold this manga incredibly close to my heart, i fell in love with it almost the moment i started reading and my love for it only grew more with the more i read. Haikyuu!! definitely gets heat from being a sports manga/anime but this series is written in such a way it hits close to home so may times and it feels almost like a slap to the face with how relatable the characters are. Furudate sensei wrote a beautiful story where everything makes sense and feels right, i laughed and cried a lot throughout this because though cheesy to say: it definitely isn’t ...

At present time of writing my review i am just overwhlemed with emotions. Just completed it and i dont know how to describe my experience rather then amazing, joyful, motivational and much more. Haikyuu was a beatiful ride till the very end, hinata development as a whole, the rivalry and the ending was just gold. Its not sad but makes u emotional at the same time. Its beautiful compact and honestly i was not into volly ball not even a little bit but without even playing the sport i have fell in love it. IN a nut shell its highly recommended if you are a ...

Since I don´t know if there will be a next season to cover the rest of the manga, I will write my review here.

First of all, let me say that watching/reading Haikyuu was the greatest decision I ever made, even better than choosing a degree in college.

(Spoilers ahead)

At first, I was part of that group who watched Haikyuu with no expectations or ideas other than just an anime about volleyball; but that seriously changed with just a few episodes in. Haikyuu is a type of story where there are no villains, and every single student is there trying to be better and be happy with ...

I still remember when I watched the first episode of haikyuu, not really impressed, seemed interesting, characters were fun but now here I am. 8 years later and knowing that I'll probably never experience a show quite like this one.

I think a lot of outsiders looking in see haikyu fans as just volleyball fans but I think the story is such a universal story that most people can relate to. If you can find anything that you're passionate about then you can relate to haikyuu and I know most of fans of this show have never even touched a volleyball and by the end ...

I'm not really into sports anime, they really lack something in them but when I started reading Hakyuu!! I got hook immediately.

The story is just GREAT and it really teach you some values that you can apply in your day by day, when I finished reading I couldn't help to cry... all the characters are amazing and seeing them grow is just wholesome (I hope we get a one-shot or a movie, I need more Hakyuu!!)

This is a manga I can re-read as many times as possible an still cry when I'm done, it's wholesome and perfect!! Please read it!!!

I have never once in my life played a game of Volleyball. I have never once in my life had any interest in taking up the sport of Volleyball. Now did Haikyuu change that for me? Was Haikyuu the first step to making me into a full fledged Volleyball enthusiast? No.

However, for what it is, and all it is is a manga about a high school men's volleyball team, it is fantastic. Yes, it is 400 chapters of volleyball, but the only real complaint I have for the series is that since it is really only about volleyball the author was fairly restricted with what ...

Preliminary (7/407 chp)
This is based on the first volume. I love the art style, you can really see the time taken to make each panel. Feels a lot more meaningful than the anime series. The characters are shown perfectly and are even given a page dedicated to them and their stats. You can see the positives and struggles for each member. It is very attention-grabbing even though I have already seen what will happen. I love the style of art used on the manga cover. I like that they do the same style on all of the Haikyuu!! covers. It's ...

When Hinata jumps really high i get really excited.

STORY
The thing i like most about this manga is how it manages to express it's themes and characterisation through the games themselves. It makes ever encounter unpredictable and not only raises the stakes but also left me problem solving along with Karasuno. There are a few pacing issues in a few of the arcs with a few narratives needing a bit more time to develop but overall the progression of the characters in terms of their arcs and skills are very natural and easy to follow. It's so hype whenever you see the work put in actually ...

I recently just finished Haikyuu and I still have so much hangover towards this manga. I can't say enough how much I LOVE this and can't thank you enough for Haruichi Furudate for this masterpiece and for the anime team for giving it life!

I am not a OG reader of this, I started reading it from chapter 291 coz I can't get enough of the anime, and I wanna see already what's gonna happen and who'll gonna win the next match, I thought I will end there after reading the match but I can't put this manga down, I thought I'll be over after the ...

first off, lets be clear, THIS MANGA IS TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!
not gonna lie this manga seriously exceeded my expectations. Beautiful story, simple yet solid plot, has a well morale storyline, 10/10 charater developments and more. Unlike kuroku no basket, this manga donot have any of the useless fictional things, tbh kuroku basketball was a good anime+manga but it was a lil bit over to the fictional side and now recently blue lock is getting more hype but still it is also a lil bit over to the fictional side, but if you want pure, simple, solid, competitve sporty storyline mangas which even has the element ...

This manga helped me through my childhood trauma.

While I was reading I remembered how when I was around 5 years old I went to weekend trainings with my dad and my kindergarten friends. Sadly, it wasn’t a joyful experience. I was always the shortest. The slowest. I don’t remember a single time I’ve won while I went there.
And every time I failed I tried to hold back my tears because I didn’t want my dad to be sad because of me.
I revisited those memories dozens of times because of Haikyuu.

And then, in the end… I bawled my eyes out like a ...

Somehow, Haruichi Furudate managed to make me love volleyball. However, Haikyuu is not just about volleyball. It's about the characters, their development, how they improve as both volleyball players and people. It's also about the connections between these characters, their relationships and the beautiful way in which the author writes their deepest struggles in a way that a regular person can relate to. I found this manga the perfect mix of sport and life.

I don't know how to explain how real this manga felt. At several times, I forgot I was reading. I forgot that this wasn't a real series of volleyball matches, with ...

Story: 3/4. Some matches were less interesting than others and perhaps took more pages than needed, but the plot as a whole was still fun to experience. Effort to continuity was apparent with nice, fulfilling callbacks. The moments created, however, was far and away the manga’s strong suit in this department.

Characters: 2/2. While the manga was adequate in this respect at baseline, obvious efforts were made to flesh out backstories (excessive at times!) and establish individual quirks. Fantastic character development as its saving grace.

Art: 2/3. Flow was imperfect due to awkward page breaks (editorial issues?), and the perspective in select panels were suspect. Nevertheless, ...

Haikyuu is probably the most popular sports manga as of now, and honestly, one of the few I read. Really, it's the only sports manga I've read. As such, I have little frame of reference for this series. Regardless, here are my current thoughts.

The best way to describe Haikyuu would probably be as Dragon Ball Z with Volleyball. That may seem like an odd comparison, but I'll explain myself. Dragon Ball Z is a manga with arcs. Each arc is pretty much exclusively about fighting, and all the arcs are pretty self-contained. There's not much plot, just fights that usually involve Goku, some side ...

Volleyball had never been a sport that I'd paid any mind to before. I had no idea that it could even be played indoors until I was in high school and my school had an indoor volleyball club. Haikyuu!! changed that completely for me, however, and now I'm actually interested in volleyball as a sport.

After completing the manga, I can say with certainty that it's easily within my top 3 favorite series of all time. From the outside looking in, it may just seem like just a sports manga, but it's far from being just that alone. It somehow manages to be a well ...

Preliminary (200/407 chp)
This is a story about how sports are a good metaphor for life and how they can be good catalysts for teaching endurance, resilience, respect and comradery. This is a story about the old cliché of following your dreams and not letting them go, but done in a way that is actually realistic by a competent writer. I think I could give infinite reasons about why giving Haikyuu!! a shot is worth it, but these are the main ones:

1) The mangaka (Furudate) did his homework here when it comes to researching about volleyball and the technical aspects of the game. Anyone who watches volleyball regularly ...

Haikyuu is a fun, light-hearted manga that manages to teach you important life lessons while being very dynamic and action-packed. Honestly, It has everything you could ask for!

Story - 10
The story follows the Karasuno high school volleyball team through a series of training matches and tournaments. It never feels stagnant and character growth is constant. In every match, we find something new about the players and about the sport itself. You can never predict what's going to happen and even the most inconsequential of matches will have you on the edge of your seat.

Art - 9
The art is solid and it's perfect for this ...

Haikyuu as a manga sits in a very strange place of having strong messages and ideas that one can resonate with and being a corny nick jr manga that offers nothing in most story elements.

Let it never be known that I am disrespecting Haikyuu. I think most matches are incredibly tense and have a lot of feel good moments from our developing cast. Some matches during the latter end of the manga have moments that genuinely left me speechless. Haikyuu also has some of the best presentation and composition I have ever seen in manga. It is up there with Berserk, Vagabond, and Bleach. ...

Haikyuu is one of those manga series that I wish I never put off. If you're balancing between reading the manga and/or watching the anime do it NOW. My biggest regret is not jumping on this series the first time I heard about it. It's a beautiful story of overcoming adversity, a love for sports, and friendships that will keep you on the edge of your seat. With the manga finally done I agree with most that the ending was rushed (most endings are not perfect), however it still left you feeling satisfied at the end of the day. Be warned the manga is a ...
