More stylish, more fashionable dudes, more horrific Stand powers, less enjoyable.

Going in order through the Jojos, this is another twist on the formula, breaking away from having a real Joestar and having a weird half-ish hero by way of villain. The actual action unfolds into a similar chase like Part 3, but all throughout Italy and full of morally questionable folks. A wannabe mafioso isn't a very typical protagonist, and it's unfortunate that Giorno has even less personality than Jotaro because he could've done more with his motivation and the way he fights the structure from within. But instead, he is a stoic badass that ...

most underrated part of jjba (possibly besides part 1 but second most underrated doesn't sound as good lol)

golden wind is a really odd part. it's a mix of parts 3 and 4 having a mystery element of who the boss is, with a villain of the week element like part 3. golden wind starts off with an unlikely main character, the son of dio but technically a joestar due to body-switching bullshit. giorno is a great main character and so many people overlook him due to his greatness being so subtle. he's the best parts of Dio and Jonathan. he's got Jonathan's morality and Dio's ...

Preliminary (138/155 chp)
"To stop the gangsters who sell drugs to children, you must become a gangster yourself".

JoJo's has always been about growth. Whether its the growth of the characters or Araki growing more mature as an artist and storyteller, the human capacity to achieve and create has always been a central theme of his work. In part 5, we Araki him take the best of his previous parts, and create something wholly fresh and original.

To address the most common criticisms, namely that Giorno isnt a very interesting main character, and Diavolo isnt a very good villain. I can't really argue with the claim that Giorno is ...

It's quite pretty and the first two thirds are great (in premise and execution) but after that it kind of falls apart by adding too many over-complicated stands, dragging the ending on for quite a bit and pulling story elements out of its ass, and then screwing up with the defeat of the main villain. It's got a kind of very shitty ending.

To reiterate, the first two thirds are great:
The premise: Mafia Jojo, having to escort a person across Italy and defend them from assassins along the way.
The art: pretty goddamn great, with memorable characters, though the designs keep getting more and more ...

My first time with Vento Aureo started as magnificent, then become less magnificent but still very great, to... I don't know. But not because the story itself went that way; it was because of how I read it. I first started with Jojo's Colored Adventure scans in full color, which looked absolutely gorgeous; then I had to read the scans but in black and white, because they hadn't colored them in by that point; and then finally, I had to look into dated, downright bad scans during the finale because JJCA hadn't translated that far yet. Despite the weird experience reading it, Part 5 is ...

JoJo's Bizarre Part 5: Vento Aureo/Golden Wind is quite possibly the most controversial part of JoJo. While most agree that part 6 is mediocre and that part 4 is great, no one seems to agree on part 5. Some people love it and some people hate it. I personally, lean towards the former. It's not the greatest part of JoJo, but I actually think it is better than the much beloved part 4. There are several reasons for this that I will explain throughout this review.

The Fights
The strongest aspect of part 5 is the fights, which are probably the best in all of JoJo. They ...

I feel like I'm reading a comic created by a veteran who knows all the ins and outs of creating shonen manga and exactly all the elements you need. He fulfills every point on that checklist, but it feels hollow and lacks the heart of previous JoJo's. It feels like a massive downgrade from the previous part, which was so much more unique and moving. You could sense the passion Araki must of had creating Diamond is Unbreakable in comparison.

This could be worth reading for some competent, albeit mind-numbing, fights but overall you might find yourself struggling to care by the end of it. I ...

(This is my first review so please be kind! BTW this review is spoiler-free)
I'm a huge JoJo fan and after finishing DiU I was pretty excited for Vento Aureo, sadly it was quite disappointing. I thought the premise was brilliant (JoJo and gangsters, what could go wrong?) but it was just poorly developed.
Story (5/10): The plot in Vento Aureo is quite linear, slightly similar to the plot of Stardust Crusaders yet it has a lot of confusing elements and undefined character goals which make the whole thing basically pointless. For me the storyline in Vento Aureo was a huge let ...

Vento Aureo is the 5th Part of JoJo's Bizzare Adventure and follows the adventures of Giorno Giovanna and his dream to become a gang leader of the most powerful gang in all of Italy a gang named Passione; through the help of Bruno Bucciarati and his gang. This one of my favorite Parts/Arcs in JoJo because of its incredible stand fights. The stand battles seemed to be a lot more brutal than in the previous parts. I also found part 5 to be one of the most unpredictable of all the JoJo parts, a good example of this is in 'The Grateful Dead' story arc. ...

While Jojo part 5 is a step back from part 4 in my opinion, it is still good.

Golden wind is honestly the black sheep of the series. You could go from Diamond is Unbreakable to Stone Ocean, and nothing would be lost. Golden Wind feels completely independent in that way. There is some connection to previous parts though, because our protagonist is the son of Dio and Jonathan. While the story does take advantage of his bloodline sometimes, Giorno Giovanna is pretty basic, honestly. This is alright though, because our Jobros are pretty cool, especially Bruno. The only one that is flat is Fugo, because ...
