Aoyama Keita had a crush on his classmate Haida Monako, but he was too shy to tell her. One day, when Haida suddenly passes away, he is finally able to confess to her through a letter he places at her funeral. Little does Keita know, she returns as a zombie and blackmails him into letting her stay with him with the threat that she will tell everyone about the love letter if he doesn't. Now Keita has to hide Haida from his parents, classmates and the outside world because everyone else thinks she is dead. To make matters worse, as a living dead, she craves flesh from time to time and Haida doesn't care if it comes from Keita...
I've only read 5 chapters so far, but I can tell where the manga will go and what kind of situations will happen, if you read/watched similar stories (Sankarea or any comedy-romance series for example) you'll be able to guess the storyline.
Read the synopsis, it's all I can say about the story, nothing else is happening despite that. The story's beginning too fast and not developed, the heroine is dead at the very first page, and is revieved as well. Everything is happening way too fast.
I like the art, maybe because it's been a while since I've seen a manga that plays with gore like it was nothing and makes it funny.
Haida is just a normal girl who wants to be a normal girl, despite that she's a zombie. Nothing else I can say about her. When her best friend figures out that she's alive she just reacts way too plain. I don't want to spoiler how she reacts, but if my best friend would die after we had a serious fight, I would be depressed, and after seeing her again I would at least cry, because what people want after someone close to them die? They want them back.
About the male protagonist, Keita, he's an average protagonist who doesn't see what's in front of his eyes, cliché character.
The manga is funny and it makes you smile, it has some graphic scenes in it, but it has no blood at all, so you can read it under 18. If it would had a little development it could even be a good manga. I recommend it for those who just likes to read mangas with no deeper meaning in it, just simple love-comedy, but I could name better mangas if you ask me.
As I mentioned earlier the manga could be better in much-much places with just little development. If the manga becomes better later on, I will re-write this review.read more
Double Disclaimer: First off I don't really care about character and art, etc etc. As long as it is enjoyable and entertaining I'm good. Second disclaimer, I only read this because I got the name wrong of the manga I actually wanted to read which led me to be quite confused early on. On to the review
So first off the manga is not very interesting. It's ok but to be honest it's a story you have probably read multiple times, but instead of a zombie, probably a alien or superhuman whatever. The story focuses on a young boy who's crush just died. Surprise surprise! She's a zombie. This part of the anime is relatively funny but it dies out fast. After a while it just become a bland love story. However it can be mildly entertaining at times, which gives it about a 6 in enjoyment. Would I recommend this? No. Is it the worst manga ever written? Not even close. So keep an open mind when reading and it won't be an awful experience.read more
